RACE TWO

REDBANK ADDI (8) will appreciate this type of race after taking on the South East and Qld Oaks at her past 2 starts. The class drop is offset by the gate and she will need plenty of luck from this alley as she will be buried away. If able to angle away early, she is a huge threat in this.

STEVIE DEE (2) led them up from gate 2 at Redcliffe last start and set an electric opening 800m split and fought gamely to be 3.5m from the winner. Finding the pegs here if she can settle in the run and with a more controlled tempo will give them something to chase.

JANUARY (12) has no favours from the gate but will be hoping for a strong tempo to bring her closing power into play. She sprinted sharply along the passing lane last start and will be swooping.

MISTER BLACKJACK (7) is another with no gate luck in this but if ab le to slot in without overcooking it can be around the money. A strong winner 2 starts back he can chime into the exotics.

SELECTIONS: REDBANK ADDI (8), STEVIE DEE (2), JANUARY (12), MISTER BLACKJACK (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

NONE BETTOR (6) has been 3rd at his past 3 in succession and is having a superb season where he has been top 3 in 17 of 20 appearances. He led them up last start over the 2138m and was shot down by WHISKEY BLAZE. Back to the mile is a big plus and despite the wider gate he looks the one.

BUMPER (10) worked hard in the run last start when cutting the breeze over the middle distance and dug in during the closing stages. That followed a strong swooping win and with the tempo solid here will be the one to watch in the closing stages.

HELL BENT (3) speared out to find the pegs from gate 5 last start but couldn’t see it out when grabbed by TOMEARA in the closing stages. Moving in to gate 3 is a bonus and he is in the mix.

TOMEARA (7) used the passing lane last start to score a well-deserved win after knocking on the door for some time. He has no favours from the wide gate but won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: NONE BETTOR (6), BUMPER (10), HELL BENT (3), TOMEARA (7)
SUGGESTED BET: NONE BETTOR (6) to win

RACE FOUR

TRES VITE (5)
got it wrong in the South East Oaks when going off-stride. Despite gate 12 last start she looked well-placed but charging home late she couldn’t get to the winner. Back out to the 2138m and moving to the front line, she can atone for her last 2.

PATERNITY SUIT (12) took cover over the 2138m trip off gate 1 last start and used the passing lane to grab the silver behind JANUARY. That followed a passing lane win over the mile and from the wide gate will be looking to run on late.

RUHTREBO (9) had no luck from gate 10 last start and was probing for an opening that never came. He can look to press through in the early stages and can issue a challenge with the right luck.

ADRIFT (6) steps out to the AP 2138m trip for the 1st time so must be taken on trust for that as he searches for a hat-trick of victories. Too slick from the pocket trail last start, he can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: TRES VITE (5), PATERNITY SUIT (12), RUHTREBO (9), ADRIFT (6)
SUGGESTED BET: TRES VITE (5) to win

RACE FIVE

ROCK WITH SAM (9) should appreciate this assignment after taking on some strong races in recent starts. Grabbed in the closing stages in a slick mile by the classy EFFRONTE 3 starts back. Not far away last start behind PSYCHEDELIC, he follows a good beginner and can prove his class here.

HEZ RAZOR SHARP (2) was buried in the run here 4 starts back from gate 10 in the same race where EFFROTNE run down ROCK WITH SAM and never had a shot at them. He is knocking on the door with some nice runs and with an improved gate gets his chance to dictate.

UNCLE PETER (6) is 1st up in Qld for visiting trainer Chris Frisby who is having a great Winter holiday. A strong Bathurst winner over the 2260m trip 2 starts back, his latest run at Penrith was a solid effort. He will be in the mix.

RIVERLEIGH ROCKET (10) will be 2nd up from a spell and take benefit from his return when leading everywhere by the last stride when run down by PSYCHEDELIC. Look for him swooping late.

SELECTIONS: ROCK WITH SAM (9), HEZ RAZOR SHARP (2), UNCLE PETER (6), RIVERLEIGH ROCKET (10)
SUGGESTED BET: ROCK WITH SAM (9) to win

RACE SIX

THE CARINGBAH KID (3)
was forced to do it the tough way off gate 7 last start and was tracking home wide out when finding the line in good style. Given no peace in front 2 starts back, he can settle handy here and this type of race appeals.

ARTS PEREGRINE (1) has enough early speed to protect the pegs and dictate who he releases. 2 starts back from the pocket trail he was 3m from GLENFERRIE BABY and last start at Marburg didn’t have the greatest of luck. From the gate he can search for his 1st AP victory.

SKYLARHAIN (9) was grabbed in the closing stages here 2 starts back when looking to lead all the way over the 2138m. Not suited when working last start, she can be effective in this type of race.

ELZBOY (4) has started from 2nd line gates at his past 2 starts and will relish the move to the front. He fought gamely last start at Marburg and can issue a challenge here.

SELECTIONS: THE CARINGBAH KID (3), ARTS PEREGRINE (1), SKYLARHAIN (9), ELZBOY (4)
SUGGESTED BET: SKYLARHAIN (9) each-way

RACE SEVEN

INA GREAT PLACE (9) was 3- wide the last 1000m last time out over the mile and the effort told when he couldn’t get to them in the stretch. That followed a top run in the claiming final behind MONTANA FALCON. 2138m and the small field looks ideal and he looks to have their measure.

STIRLING WILLIAM (8) is racing consistently of late and added added another minor to his tally here on Tues when hitting the line strongly for 2nd to CHANTREY. He will need some favours from the gate but with a rub of the green can be in the mix.

WYNBERG TERROR (1) features in a barn change and steps out for Brett Cargill for the first time. Buried away 2 start back off this gate, he can look to be a little closer and can feature.

RAESAWINNER (6) was never in the hunt last start after being buried in the run and the race was gone before he even warmed up. If he can find position early look for him swooping late.

SELECTIONS: INA GREAT PLACE (9), STIRLING WILLIAM (8), WYNBERG TERROR (1), RAESAWINNER (6)
SUGGESTED BET: INA GREAT PLACE (9) to win

RACE EIGHT

ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (1)
attacked the line strongly last start after being buried away from inside 2nd line gate and was able to get within 2.5m of the smart GINGER MICKY. That followed a forget run behind REGULUS where he struck trouble. From this gate he gets every chance to score.

BOULDER CITY (8) is still searching for a maiden breaking win with his latest effort a handy effort after being locked away and holding his ground to the line. He should get the perfect trip here and be ready to strike.

ALI DOWNUNDER (5) settled in the running line and finished too strongly over the top to score on debut at his one and only outing. Taking experience from that, look for him charging home.

POINT OH FIVE (6) cashed-in last start when able to lead all the way at Redcliffe and dealt the terms in front with some easy sectionals. The wide gate doesn’t help his win chances here.

SELECTIONS: ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (1), BOULDER CITY (8), ALI DOWNUNDER (5), POINT OH FIVE (6)
SUGGESTED BET: ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (1) to win

RACE NINE

GOT THE GOODS (4)
was a winner here 2 starts back when pressing on from this gate to find the front and once in control was never in danger. Not suited last start from inside the 2nd line when shuffled right back he still found the line nicely. He can fire out and look to dictate.

ARK TEAMO (3) tried to take them all the way last start from gate 1 over the mile and sent to the post as fav couldn’t see it out. She can settle handy here and has podium claims.

MICKEE CULLEN (1) is having a fair season with 3 wins, the latest coming last start when too strong in restricted company at Redcliffe after pressing on to the breeze from gate 6. He is in the mix.

DAPPER BESSIE (5) was runner-up in successive outings at Redcliffe from 2nd line draws and then last start from gate 10 was making good closing ground. The front line and small field should suit.

SELECTIONS: GOT THE GOODS (4), ARK TEAMO (3), MICKEE CULLEN (1), DAPPER BESSIE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: GOT THE GOODS (4) to win
