RACE TWO

HUGHIE GREEN (6) is the emergency for the BLACKS A FAKE and lines up here off a last start 3rd in the FFA Mr Feelgood when tracking home nicely when 3rd to ALLELUIA over the 2138m. He does pose a risk as the mile is not really his go, but fitter after 3 runs back and able to turn it into a staying mile he should be too strong.

ADMIRAL BRONSKI (4) was working home wide off the track from gate 12 last start and powered away from them in the stretch to put up a 9m margin. Forget his previous 2 starts and while this is much harder than his last start win, there was plenty to take from it.

FRANKIE ROCKS (5) will be much better suited back to the mile here and despite the tricky gate he is a huge threat. He led from gate 6 in the FFA Wondai’s Mate 3 back when grabbed late and is right in this.

BETTORTHANSPECIAL (9) was returning from a let-up in the Fleur De Lil last week when she was snagged back from a wide gate and then never really got a shot at them. With the right run here she must be respected.

SELECTIONS: HUGHIE GREEN (6), ADMIRAL BRONSKI (4), FRANKIE ROCKS (5), BETTORTHANSPECIAL (9)
SUGGESTED BET: ADMIRAL BRONSKI (4) each-way

RACE THREE

UNTITLED (9) caught the eye last week when probing for a gap that never arrived and then storming through once it was all over. His 1st run in Qld was a solid effort when 2nd to LOCKTON LUCK when looking to take them all the way and he looks to get his chance here.

EL MAJOR (4) will take good benefit from his last start when resuming after a 16 month break and finishing hard to arrive for the prize. That made it 4 successive wins for the 5YO and from the good gate can look to make the most of his chances.

PSYCHEDELIC (2) stormed home to score in the Lady Drivers Invitational last week and is effective when saved for the closing shot. From this gate he can settle handy and will be ready to pounce.

LUCIFERS LEGEND (12) looked to take them all the way last start when setting a strong tempo over the mile. Gunned down by ADMIRAL BRONSKI it was a sound effort and fitter from the run can place.

SELECTIONS: UNTITLED (9), EL MAJOR (4), PSYCHEDELIC (2), LUCIFERS LEGEND (12)
SUGGESTED BET: UNTITLED (9) to win

RACE FOUR

REGULUS (3)
looks to have gone to another level since arriving in Qld and lands the perfect gate as he looks for the 2nd G1 of his short career. He controlled in front in a match race last start when ripping home a sub 27 closer which followed a stylish win from gate 7. He looks too classy here and will be a very short quote.

GINGER MICKY (11) gets no luck from the gate but the bonus of that is that we will get to see him chase for the 1st time. Raced on the speed at his 4 career starts, he held on for victory here 2 starts back and followed that with a 2m victory last start. If able to get the right cart into the contest he will be flying home.

COMMODORE JUJON (2) was working hard in the run last start when going under narrowly behind MUCHO GUAPA. A maiden breaking winner 2 starts back, he can settle handy from the gate and has podium hopes.

CAPITALIZE (9) will take benefit from his return from a break when buried away on the pegs from gate 5. The Breeders winner from 2 starts back, he will enjoy a handy trail and can be ready to strike.

SELECTIONS: REGULUS (3), GINGER MICKY (11), COMMODORE JUJON (2), CAPITALIZE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 3 / 2-9-11 / 2-9-11

RACE FIVE

CONVICTION (8) was big in defeat last week when 3 wide the last 1100m and still fighting to the line when 1.5m from the winner PSYCHEDELIC. 2nd to LET IT RIDE 2 starts back in the NSW Breeders, he will need some favours to go his way here but he is a classy customer and following a good beginner will be coiled and ready to strike.

THE BACHELOR (1) was working home wide off the track last week when catching the cover of CONVICTION. Looming up in the stretch it was only PSYCHEDELIC that finished better. A nice winner at Menangle 2 starts back in a slick closing 400m from the front, the 2138m might be the query at his 1st attempt.

OUR TRIPLE PLAY (4) has taken on the open class features in his 2 Qld runs with his effort in the Sunshine Sprint a tidy effort from gate 12. Charging home late he was only 6m from the winner TACT TATE. This is his best gate in his past 6 starts and he will be looking to make the most of his chances.

OUR UNCLE SAM (7) has been slammed with a horror gate here and will need plenty of luck. He worked too hard at his past 2 starts which followed a pair of wins here at AP. Place looks best from the gate.

SELECTIONS: CONVICTION (8), THE BACHELOR (1), OUR TRIPLE PLAY (4), OUR UNCLE SAM (7)
SUGGESTED BET: CONVICTION (8) to win (best bet)

RACE SIX

TOUGH MONARCH (12)
started fav last week over 2647 when searching for a hat-trick of victories and was forced to do plenty of work. With the last mile run in even splits he couldn’t make the deficit. Prepared to forgive the run and assess on his demolition job the start prior. He can bounce back.

OUR OVERANOVA (13) ran his usual honest race last week and was still whacking away in the stretch to finish 5m from the winner and claim the bronze. He is 2 from 2 at the AP 3157 and with his usual brilliant starting manners he will be right in the fight again.

JUSTABITNOISY (6) bombed the start last week and was never a factor thereafter. His form prior to that had been solid and if he can get the start right he will be in the mix.

GEE UP NEDDY (7) did his share of work in the run last week but was able to battle away to claim the silver. NO luck the start prior from the mobile off gate 7, he can throw down a challenge.

SELECTIONS: TOUGH MONARCH (12), OUR OVERANOVA (13), JUSTABITNOISY (6), GEE UP NEDDY (7)
SUGGESTED BET: TOUGH MONARCH (12) to win

RACE SEVEN

CHERRYS THE BEST (2) took a while to put it all together and had the writing on the wall with some good performances. Last start from gate 7 she was sent forward to the breeze and in a controlled run was too strong in scoring. She looks a progressive filly and with the gate advantage looks value and can step up again here.

SMART AS CAMM BE (6) looks a very stylish filly and last week when returning from a let-up was simply too good in powering past them in the stretch to score a nice 4m victory. That was her 1st run in 2 months since winning the Breeders and she will be charging home again.

FOR ALL WE KNOW (5) makes the trek from Vic where her 5 career starts have all been strong performances. Last start she worked hard in the run and struck trouble but was still within 6m of the winner. She hit the lien strongly to score at Melton 3 starts back and is right in the mix here.

CUPCAKESNWHIPCREAM (9) will be looking to press through early to find a nice trail and if the tempo is too hot her closing speed will come right into calculations. On her 3rd trip back to Qld look for her charging late.

SELECTIONS: CHERRYS THE BEST (2), SMART AS CAMM BE (6), FOR ALL WE KNOW (5), CUPCAKESNWHIPCREAM (9)
SUGGESTED BET: CHERRYS THE BEST (2) each-way (Value bet of the night)

RACE EIGHT

MY FIELD MARSHAL (11)
can be forgiven for his Sunshine Sprint effort where he had no luck whatsoever when planted 3-wide. 2 starts back the 26.5 closer set from the front made it impossible to make ground when 2nd to CRUZ BROMAC. He will be looking for a cart into the contest and with the likelihood of a strong tempo he will get his chance to issue a swooping shot.

TACT TATE (6)
was driven a treat in the Sunshine Sprint when spearing out to the pegs from gate 7 and then taking cover before using the passing lane to score. Similar tactics could be on offer here and with the smother run he will be ready to sprout wings late.

ATOMIC RED (4) was enormous in the Sunshine Sprint when wide and then probing for openings that never arrived. Back out to the long trip is his cup of tea and a power runner he can look to set the tempo out in front and give them something to chase.

LET IT RIDE (3) gets his shot at the big-time after a change of plans and will gain the services of Double Dee- Dexter Dunn. He was a class above his rivals last week and did a stack of work when too strong to score a 1.5m victory. He should appreciate the improved gate after landing some horror alleys where he has still put them away. He is a big threat.

SELECTIONS: MY FIELD MARSHAL (11), TACT TATE (6), ATOMIC RED (4), LET IT RIDE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MY FIELD MARSHAL (11) to win

RACE NINE

DUPLICATED (1)
brutalised his opponents last week in the South East Derby with a power running display to keep his unbeaten record in Australia intact. His closing panels in that race were off the charts and he looked to be doing it easy. From the gate it looks a procession.

COLT THIRTY ONE (5) pressed on to get to the breeze last week but was no match for DUPLICATED. That ended his streak of 14 successive wins at AP where he never looked to make any ground on the winner. With the gate advantage against him, he looks hard pressed to turn the tables.

PEMBROOKS PASSION (8) is 1st-up in Aust for KerryAnn Turner and arrives with some handy form in longer distance races. From the gate he can get the perfect trip and be running into the place-money.

CODE BAILEY (9) was a late scratching from last week’s Derby and will be looking to make amends here. A strong winner from the 2nd line at Shepparton 2 starts back, he can dart down to the pegs for an easy run and look to run into the exotics.

SELECTIONS: DUPLICATED (1), COLT THIRTY ONE (5), PEMBROOKS PASSION (8), CODE BAILEY (9)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1 / 5 / 8-9

RACE TEN

SIGNORINA JUJON (1)
scored a maiden breaking win last start when leading all the way off this same gate. That followed a 2.5m 2nd to SAINT KILDA BEACH after taking a trail. Progressing nicely through the season, she looks to get every chance from this draw.

BETTOR BECAUSE (8) will be glued to the back of SIGNORINA JUJON and will be ready to take the closing shot when the gaps arrive. Still a maiden she has placed in 5 of her past 6 starts with her latest run a sound effort behind the stylish winner ESCALERA in a sub 28 closer.

GINATIANO (10) caught the eye last start when flashing home in the closing stages to be 7m from the winner SMART AS CAMM BE after being shuffled back along the pegs. With even luck she can run into the money.

TORQUE IS MY GIRL (5) is making good progression and was hitting the line in good order last start when 5m from OUR DELIGHT. She can look to get forward to a position and chime into the exotics.

SELECTIONS: SIGNORINA JUJON (1), BETTOR BECAUSE (8), GINATIANO (10), TORQUE IS MY GIRL (5)
SUGGESTED BET: SIGNORINA JUJON / BETTOR BECAUSE (1 / 8) quinella
