RACE TWO

TROUBLESOME DAVE (2) has started twice since returning from a break and had no luck with barriers. Too far back after restraining from gate 6 at Goulburn last start he was making some closing ground in a strong closing section. Making his Qld debut here he can look for the pegs and dictate play.

HEART OF CHANGE (8) released from gate 1 last start over the mile when finishing 6m from the winner PUNTERS DELIGHT. She will need a slice of luck from this gate but with the cosy trip can be poised and ready to strike when the gap opens.

ONLY IN ROME (9) should find this a shade easier than what he has been meeting and with even luck in transit can feature. A 6m 2nd to JAZZY ARTIST 3 starts back from the trail, he will be working home late.

BROADWATER (6) should be tightened following his latest run when 2nd up from a spell. Taken back from gate 7 over the 2138m trip he never featured. Settling closer in this line-up should see an improved effort.

SELECTIONS: TROUBLESOME DAVE (2), HEART OF CHANGE (8), ONLY IN ROME (9), BROADWATER (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

CHERISH THE MOMENT (5) was taken back from gate 7 2 runs back and was making good ground in the closing stages when 8m from the winner WITH AUTHORITY. Her run had merit 3 starts back when taken back from gate 6 and making late ground. Forget she went round on Sat night when never in the call. This looks well within reach.

SWEET AS (4) started a red figure fav 3 starts back and had an issue that saw her banished to the trials. Luckless from gate 12 at her next outing she was again out of luck on Sat night when strung up in traffic and then having the tyre flattened. With better luck in transit she can feature.

REDS JET STAR (6) comes out of the same Sat night race and after settling on the pegs, sprinted home sharply to really catch the eye. A winner 5 starts back when sprouting wings in the closing stages, look for her descending on them late.

COMIGAL (1) will enjoy the perfect trip from this gate and be poised to take the last shot. Only 1.5m from GRINVIL 2 starts back, she won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: CHERSH THE MOMENT (5), SWEET AS (4), REDS JET STAR (6), COMIGAL (1)
SUGGESTED BET:  CHERISH THE MOMENT (5) to win

RACE FOUR

LILAC FLASH (6)
was an eye-catcher at his Aust debut here 2 starts back when buried away 3 back he sprinted sharply when seeing open track and went within 1.5m of the win. Last start over the 2138m trip he was shuffled out of play and never a factor. The wide gate hurts is not ideal but he is worth a ticket in this line-up.

PATERNITY SUIT (5) has had 2 runs back from a spell with both runs over the 2138m trip. Last start he wasn’t asked for much early and found the 1x1 in the run and was fair to the line behind MISS HOOLIGAN. Back to the mile suits and he can settle close to the speed here and feature.

MEANT TO BE ME (1) lands an improved gate here and can look to make the most of the inside advantage. A winner from gate 4 over the mile 3 starts back, she will get the cosy trip and be looking to close out late.

STATEMENT PLEASE (9) found the pocket trail off gate 2 at Redcliffe on Fri and finished best to score. Luckless in the 3YO fillies Triad Consolation 2 starts back, she can chime in for the exotics here.

SELECTIONS: LILAC FLASH (6), PATERNITY SUIT (5), MEANT TO BE ME (1), STATEMENT PLEASE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: LILAC FLASH (6) to win

RACE FIVE

THREE OF THE BEST (3) has started 3 times since returning from a break and been a beaten fav on all 3 occasions. Taken back from gate 7 last start he was then against the tempo and no chance of making up the ground. 2 starts back he was nabbed on the line by the flying BODHI TREE. He can press ahead here to take control and fight them off.

PSYCHEDELIC (5) was off gate 12 here 2 starts back and didn’t get the cleanest run when finishing mid-field over the mile. Last start he was hitting the line in good order when 4m from the winner OUTLAW FELLA. Settling close to the action look for him swooping late.

BETTOR BE LUCKY (2) looked set to claim the silver in the 4YO Triad when sprinting sharply down the home straight and then galloped. A qualifying winner 2 starts back in stylish fashion, he can give this a shake.

GRINVIL (7) was aiming up for the hat-trick last start when ending her chances with an error. Both her wins came when hitting the line hard in the closing stages and she will be doing her best work late again.

SELECTIONS: THREE OF THE BEST (3), PSYCHEDELIC (5), BETTOR BE LUCKY (2), GRINVIL (7)
SUGGESTED BET: THREE OF THE BEST (3) to win

RACE SIX

GOOD BOY OLIVER (5)
was a Canberra winner 3 starts back when pressing ahead from the 2nd line he proved too strong over the 2170m trip. Too far back in the run at each of his past 2 starts to feature in the closing stages, he is right in the fight here and gives visiting trainer Scott Hewitt a solid chance for a big day.

JACKS AT THE BEACH (2) can look to bully his way to the front here although he would be better suited if this race was at the mile instead of the middle distance. Both his past 2 starts have been strong performances when working in the run around the tight Marburg circuit. He will be duking it out.

TACT OLLIE (1) makes his debut for Darrel Graham and will be having just his 4th Aust start. Arriving from NZ he ran a strong mile 2nd up to score at Menangle and was then down the line behind the smart RAKAROLLA. With a strong trial performance to prepare, he can’t be ignored.

VETTEL (3) shoots for the hat-trick at his AP debut for annual visitor Dean Cernovskis. He was sent forward to the find the front last start at Goulburn and ran a home a strong closing 800m. If he can find position without over-cooking things early, he will be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: GOOD BOY OLIVER (5), JACKS AT THE BEACH (2), TACT OLLIE (1), VETTEL (3)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

COMPLY OR DIE (4) was looking to close out in the latter stages when getting within 8m of the winner MAJOR KIWI. That had followed some wider gates where he was not suited in working in the run. Doing his best work from the front, he gets the chance to find the pegs here and will be fighting them off.

BULL MARKET (11) was set alight in the middle stages last start but was unable to work to the front and after the burn was left vulnerable in the closing stages. That followed 3 successive 3rd placed runs, 2 of those in band company. With even luck in transit he can chime in here.

RORY MACH (2) can secure a handy position from this gate and with a good closing sprint when running home off the speed he looks well suited. He was probing for the runs last start when only 4m from the winner and won’t be far away again.

OUR BUSCEMI (1) was buried away on the pegs last start after going back from the middle of the line and was working home strongly in the closing stages. With the cosy trip here look for him taking the closing shot.

SELECTIONS: COMPLY OR DIE (4), BULL MARKET (11), RORY MACH (2), OUR BUSCEMI (1)
SUGGESTED BET: COMPLY OR DIE (4) to win

RACE EIGHT

MUSCLE MACH (2)
has been runner-up at his past 2 starts when only beaten small margins in each. Taking shortcuts over the Menangle Mile 2 starts back he found the line in good order and last start worked hard in the run at Goulburn off the 2nd line. His Qld debut can be a winning one.

NONE BETTOR (6) is in super consistent form this season and has missed a cheque just twice in 14 appearances. On Thurs he settled back in the pack from the 2nd line and came with a well-timed run to go straight past them. The wide gate hurts but with plenty of speed underneath he can look for position and attack late.

HEEZ PERFECT (5) followed the markers home last start and just kept coming to arrive for a good win in an Aspirational. Lightly raced in a troubled career, he has always shown promise and from this gate can look to press forward to find position.

TOOK YOUR TIME (4) will strip fitter from his latest run when 2nd up from a break. Striking trouble at his return he then was too classy over the Redcliffe 2040m. He needs to step up again here but has exotic hopes.

SELECTIONS: MUSCLE MACH (2), NONE BETTOR (6), HEEZ PERFECT (5), TOOK YOUR TIME (4)
SUGGESTED BET: MUSCLE MACH (2) to win
