RACE TWO

ASHKII (8) had a shot for the front from gate 4 last week and was repelled, meaning he then had to face the breeze throughout. In for the fight he went within 5m of victory in slick time. Following out a good beginner, if the factors are in his favour, look for him taking the snipers shot up the lane.

HEZ ALL COURAGE (10) went to the pegs here 3 starts back and with the cosy trip sprinted sharply to arrive right on the line. Runner-up at his next 2 starts from gate 7 and then last start behind PINUP BOY, with the right run in transit he will go mighty close here.

RUTHLESS ARMBRO (1) rolled forward from gate 5 over the mile 2 starts back and despite being wide was too strong in claiming victory. From the good gate he can hustle early and try to dictate.

CROWNING GLORY (9) will have the early peg-line option available and the soft trip can suit in this. Grabbed in the latter stages in claiming company last start, he can be chiming in late here.

SELECTIONS: ASHKII (8), HEZ ALL COURAGE (10), RUTHLESS ARMBRO (1), CROWNING GLORY (9)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-8-9-10

RACE THREE

OUR MEMPHIS MAC (1) was looking to make it 3 wins on the bounce last start when taking on a 2nd division qualifier over the 2138m. Not suited when working in the run from the 2nd line gate, the effort told. Swooping late to win his previous 2 starts, he can take the trail and fire the closing shot.

OYSTER STRIDE (3) was working home wide off the track at Redcliffe last start and hit the line strongly when only 4m off the winner in a strong time for the 1780m trip. That was his 2nd run back from a let-up and with the added fitness, can look to fire out early here and be gripping on.

ONLY IN ROME (8) found the right race here 3 starts back and from the 2nd line arrived in time to take the prize. His latest run was full of merit from gate 7 and he will be probing for gaps.

TOO GOOD FOR YOU (10) has faced 2nd line gates at his past 3 starts, the past 2 at Tamworth where he has been unable to get into the race. Back to the bigger track he can chime in late.

SELECTIONS: OUR MEMPHIS MAC (1), OYSTER STRIDE (3), ONLY IN ROME (8), TOO GOOD FOR YOU (10)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR MEMPHIS MAC (1) to win

RACE FOUR

WEE JIMMY (8)
has been in the money at 5 of the past 7, finishing runner-up at his past 2. Given no favours last start at Marburg and forced to cover plenty of extra ground, he was game to the line when only beaten a half-neck. With a cheap run on offer, he will be ready to strike in the stretch.

CHARLYSE (10) was a winner of a 2nd division qualifier here 4 starts back when finishing over the top to claim a stylish victory. Luckless at her next outing from gate 10, she has landed alley’s 6 and 7 at her past 2 starts and forced to retreat to find position. She gets into this race nicely and can arrive.

MATT BELFORD (1) will take some benefit from his latest start when resuming from a break. Forced to work hard over the longer 2280m, he will appreciate the return to the mile and will be fighting.

SHILAH (3) arrived on the line to claim victory in a similar race at his last victory. That came 7 runs back and without really finding the right race since, his form has been sound enough to feature.

SELECTIONS: WEE JIMMY (8), CHARLYSE (10), MATT BELFORD (1), SHILAH (3)
SUGGESTED BET: WEE JIMMY (8) to win

RACE FIVE

ZARAS DELIGHT (1) returns from a freshen after claiming a narrow victory in a mares only race over the mile last start. Finishing within 3m of her stablemate MANDY KRIDEN the start prior, she should enjoy a great trip here and saved for the closing shot can make it a winning one.

HASHTAG (12) was locked away against the markers here 3 starts back and closed out in good order to be 5m from the winner HUGHIE GREEN. He found his race at Redcliffe at his next outing in scoring with ease and then last start was charging late when 5m from ELENIARK. He will be powering home.

SOMEPARTYSOMEWHERE (10) settled in the 1x1 trail last start and was solid to the line behind ELENIARK. Fitter again from the outing following a freshen, he won’t be far away here.

LIVING AGAIN (6) found the line in good order last start when within 4m of the winner. His run 2 back behind JILLIBY BANDIT had merit and while needing some luck from this gate he can feature.

SELECTIONS: ZARAS DELIGHT (1), HASHTAG (12), SOMEPARTYSOMEWHERE (10), LIVING AGAIN (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

LILAC FLASH (6)
was brave last start after doing all the work in the run over the 2138m trip and still driving on the line to go within a flared nostril of COLT THIRTY ONE. That was following 5 successive wins, including a smart pair at Melton and despite the tough gate, he can show his class once again.
CLINTAL DO (5) resumes from a freshen but has been to the trials for 2 solid pipe openers in readiness. Last seen when finishing 1.5m from OUR MAJOR DAY in the Armidale Cup, his run here 2 back from the walk-ups was a solid effort when beaten 1m off the 2nd line. Position will be key.

ARGYLE BEACH (2) was forced to hang tough in the breeze here 2 starts back and was fighting hard when within 2m of the winner. 3m away behind COLT THIRTY ONE last start, she can light the lamps.

ELENIARK (8) became the 2nd fastest mare ever around the ‘Creek’ last week when claiming a 1.51.8 win, with only the mighty Forever Gold having gone faster. That made it successive wins and she will probe for openings here.

SELECTIONS: LILAC FLASH (6), CLINTAL DO (5), ARGYLE BEACH (2), ELENIARK (8)
SUGGESTED BET: LILAC FLASH (6) to win

RACE SEVEN

VASARI (1) scorched the back stretch last start when unleashing a 26.4 3rd panel when in front to break clear and go home to claim an 18m victory. The closing 800m of 54.8 saw the 5YO set himself a new benchmark of 1.52.0 in the process. From gate 1, he will be out in front dictating here.

OLIVER WINKLE (3) has been sharp in recent outings and claimed a 2nd division qualifier over the 2138m here 2 starts back when pressing on to take control and run home a strong closing 800m to keep them chasing. Tough from the breeze last start, he looks set to roll the sleeves again here.

CLARRY (6) started fav here on Tues and from the 1x1 trail, couldn’t go with them late when the leader and winner MO CASINO ripped home in 27.1. With even luck he won’t be too far away.

OUR BONDI BEACH (8) was luckless here last start over the 2138m which followed a game effort when setting the tempo for HASHTAG to arrive 2 starts back. The fence could be the best place here.

SELECTIONS: VASARI (1), OLIVER WINKLE (3), CLARRY (6), OUR BONDI BEACH (8)
SUGGESTED BET: VASARI (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

MAYBETOTHEMAX (7)
is in superb touch and last start went within a head of claiming a hat-trick of victories. Claiming a smart win over the mobile mile 3 starts back, he was then tough from the breeze over the longer 2647m. He will appreciate the conditions of this and back to the 10m looks hard to stop.

SOUTHERN ALPS (3) did everything right to claim a mid-week event here 2 starts back, trotting cleanly to arrive for the prize. Back to his troublesome ways last start he missed away when the strands released and after losing all chance, the run was good in defeat. Just needs his manners.

EMPIRE BAY (8) returns from a freshen and had been racing in nice touch prior to the let-up. Finding the front off 10m last start he was grabbed late and with a safe start will be in the action early.

NORTHERN MUSCLE (4) struck trouble last start which sent his hopes into disarray. Forced to work hard from the mobile 2 starts back, returning to the tapes can see him in the mix for the minors.

SELECTIONS: MAYBETOTHEMAX (7), SOUTHERN ALPS (3), EMPIRE BAY (8), NORTHERN MUSCLE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: MAYBETOTHEMAX (7) to win

RACE NINE

IMA GRUMPY POSSUM (2)
was having an early look for the front in Race 1 here last week and in a race that saw severe disruption to the entire field, she was one of the worst affected. Resetting she chased hard and did well to be within 10m of the winner. With the gate advantage she can light the lamps here and take them all the way.

TRILIGHT BRIGADE (3) started from the 2nd line last start and was working home wide off the track and hitting the line in good order for no return. A passing lane runner-up 2 starts back, she should appreciate the return to mares only company and can throw down the challenge.

LISA LINCOLN (8) started from this same gate under the same circumstances as the lone 2nd liner last start and chased gamely when grabbing 3rd. with a similar run she can repeat the result.

ROCKNROLL EMMA (6) has a tricky gate to negotiate, yet should appreciate the mares only competition. She chased bravely behind NORTHVIEW HUSTLER here on Tues and can podium here.

SELECTIONS: IMA GRUMPY POSSUM (2), TRILIGHT BRIGADE (3), LISA LINCOLN (8), ROCKNROLL EMMA (6)
SUGGESTED BET: IMA GRUMPY POSSUM (2) to win

RACE TEN

GOTTA GO JAZZY JET (7)
has been runner-up in both her Qld appearances and will take further benefit from the latest following a long break. Pressing ahead to take control from gate 6 last start in a strong tempo, she was grabbed right on the line by JOSSIE JAMES. Despite the gate she can arrive.

SOULWRITER (4) led them up last start and the price of a sub 27 opener proved too expensive when she was collared on the line by MAMMALS MAGIC. That followed a head defeat, again when leading until the last stride from this same gate. If she can pinch a panel, she might just hold on.

JUSTALITTLE TORQUE (1) was 1st to the pegs prior to releasing and opting for the trail here last week, and then held on for the bronze. With another cosy trip on offer, she can chime in late again.

BARA CHARLOTTE (3) settled in the pocket trail last start at Tamworth and was able to hold on for 2nd in smart time. That followed a tough win over the 1980m and she will be in for the fight here.

SELECTIONS: GOTTA GO JAZZY JET (7), SOULWRITER (4), JUSTALITTLE TORQUE (1), BARA CHARLOTTE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: GOTTA GO JAZZY JET (7) to win
