RACE TWO

MIND OF MY OWN (2) has placed in 3 of her 5 career outings as she works towards her 1st victory. Last week from gate 4 she rolled the sleeves and cut the breeze when fighting gamely to hold on for the silver, beaten 2m. From gate 2 she can cross to the pegs 1st and taking control can see it out.

ANOTHER STATEMENT (8) didn’t have much luck last start when stuck behind some tiring runners and couldn’t find the space to work into the open. He hit the line nicely once seeing some space, yet the race was gone. He charged home on debut and just needs luck to feature here.

FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT (1) makes her debut here for the Grant Dixon barn and brings some strong breeding. By Western Terror out of Paris Highlights, she is the half to 3 winners and has trialled well.

FAIREACHDAINN (5) was sound last start when not far behind SUGARKANE in a strong closing 400m panel. Showing steady improvement, she can chime into the money in this line-up.

SELECTIONS: MIND OF MY OWN (2), ANOTHER STATEMENT (8), FAVOURITEHIGHLIGHT (1), FAIREACHDAINN (5)
SUGGESTED BET: MIND OF MY OWN (2) to win

RACE THREE

The annual pilgrimage North by a group of NSW trainers for the winter is underway and NADEEN FRANCO (1) looks set to be the 1st to secure success for the Blues on the 2019 Tour. A winner 1st up from a break at Canberra, she attacked the line hard last start from gate 12 at Wagga. With speed off the arm, she can capitalise.

JUSTALITTLETORQUE (4) is still looking for her 1st win of the season, but she has been running some nice races of late. Chasing gamely to grab the bronze in a mares qualifier 2 starts back, she was down to contest a similar race on Sat night and she can throw down the challenge here.

LURAH (8) was buried away on the pegs at Redcliffe 2 starts back and making full use of the passing lane arrived to claim a smart win. With another cosy trip on offer, she can be charging late.

LAUGHING EMOJI (2) started fav in a similar race 2 starts back and from the pocket trail, held on to claim 2nd. Her effort was tidy under the circumstances last start and back to mares only can feature.

SELECTIONS: NADEEN FRANCO (1), JUSTALITTLETORQUE (4), LURAH (8), LAUGHING EMOJI (2)
SUGGESTED BET: NADEEN FRANCO (1) to win

RACE FOUR

MELPARK MAGIC (2)
settled in the running line last start over the longer trip and when angled o the outside at the top of the stretch, let down in great fashion to arrive for a smart win. Within 2m of the passing lane winner SOUTHERN ALPS 2 starts back, he can settle handy and go back-to-back.

PATSDELIGHT (1) resumes from a freshen after being given a let-up following her last start win. That made it 3 wins in succession where she had been able to step cleanly and lead throughout on each occasion. Opening the pipes with a recent trial, she can light the lamps and be gripping on.

IM THE COMMANDO (6) was looking to stay undefeated in Qld when coming from a 30m tape he was forced to cover plenty of ground. Bouncing back with a strong Sat night win, he was locked away on the pegs on Fri.

GARLAND GREENE (4) was after a hat-trick of wins on Friday when taking on a mobile event following successive wins from the tapes. Ending his chances when going off stride, he can look for a bounce back from the front line strand.

SELECTIONS: MELPARK MAGIC (2), PATSDELIGHT (1), IM THE COMMANDO (6), GARLAND GREENE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: MELPARK MAGIC (2) to win

RACE FIVE

LEOS BEST (1) will be having just his 2nd run from the tapes, with his 1st attempt coming when resuming from an 18 month break here 3 starts back. His 2nd up effort was solid and last start arrived for 3rd.  With added fitness and the benefit of the front line, the former HOTY gets every chance.

MO CASINO (3) stepped away cleanly and took them all the way to score under similar circumstances 3 starts back and the followed that with a to 3rd in the Flashing Red. Leading throughout under mobile conditions last week, he will be right in the action with his great manners.

SIR JULIAN (2) was very keen behind the tapes in the Flashing Red and was smartly away before releasing NORTHVIEW HUSTLER at the 2000m. He should find this a shade easier and can feature.

THE SHADY ONE (7) hasn’t been able to step the best at his past 2 stand start outings which is of some concern here. Making the most of finding the pocket trail from gate 6 last start over the mobile mile to score via the passing lane, his manners are key.

SELECTIONS: LEOS BEST (1), MO CASINO (3), SIR JULIAN (2), THE SHADY ONE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: LEOS BEST (1) to win

RACE SIX

Impressive in a pair of trials here at AP and then at Redcliffe, leading into his 1st Aus start, GOTTA MOMENT (7) was equally as impressive when making a winning start in Qld. Sent to the front at Redcliffe, he was able to reel off a sharp time in scoring. The gate hurts but he looks smart.

LEFT A TERROR (10) resumes from a freshen following a down the line effort over the 2138m when starting from gate 12. Wide off the track, the tempo made it tough from back in the pack and the run had merit. That followed a brave 3rd in the Triad when grabbed late and he can bounce back here.

BRIAN WHO (6) secured the pocket trail from gate 1 on Fri but didn’t get to the passing lane with momentum which proved costly. The wide gate is a stinger here, but saved for a shot will swoop hard.

ZARAS DANCE (8) started from gate 11 last time out and was just too far back when trying to track into the contest. She will need a slice of luck here but if the gaps open, she can be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: GOTTA MOMENT (7), LEFT A TERROR (10), BRIAN WHO (6), ZARAS DANCE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: GOTTA MOMENT (7) to win

RACE SEVEN

MAYWYNS COURAGE (6) was 3rd up from a break on Fri when starting from gate 12 and hitting the line in good style in the latter stages. Game when chasing for the bronze 2 back behind Vasari, despite being drawn wide, the advantage will certainly be in his favour by getting back to the front.

NEWPORT DREAMZ (4) closed out in good style last start over his less preferred 2138m trip and was strong to the line when beaten a half-neck. The early scratching now gives him a strong chance to find the pegs 1st. Getting back to some sharp form he can’t be ignored.

THE ANNOUNCER (10) was a stylish winner at Wagga last start when snagged back from a wide gate, he then packed too many guns when leading the 3 wide train to score. He will swoop hard here.

CLASSIE AMERCIAN (8) will need plenty of luck from this gate now as he looks set to be buried in transit. If the gaps arrive he can be chiming in the closing stages.

SELECTIONS: MAYWYNS COURAGE (6), NEWPORT DREAMZ (4), THE ANNOUNCER (10), CLASSIE AMERICAN (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 4-6-8-10

RACE EIGHT

POLISHED ROCKS (6)
was a winner from gate 2 here 6 starts back over the mile when packing too many guns from the breeze. In the 5 runs since he has been devoid of luck in transit and his past 4 have all been from tough gates. The gate stings again, but he can turn his fortunes around in this.

WEEDONS EXPRESS (2) took on the middle-distance trip from a wide gate last start and in a sizzling time set by NORTHVIEW HUSTLER, he was under siege a long way out. He was luckless 2 starts back when locked away with no gaps and the return to the mile from this gate will see a sharper return.

IDEAL WARRIOR (3) was closing out nicely from the 2nd line to get within a neck of the winner here 3 starts back and then made an error at his next start. On the back-up from Sat night, he is in the mix.

SOMEMONDOSOMEWHERE (9) was put out of play last start in a race that was torn open by a breaking IDEAL WARRIOR. Holding on for 2nd to TULHURST ACE 2 starts back, he has claims here.

SELECTIONS: POLISHED ROCKS (6), WEEDONS EXPRESS (2), IDEAL WARRIOR (3), SOMEMONDOSOMEWHERE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: POLISHED ROCKS (6) to win

RACE NINE

TOM ME GUN (9)
should appreciate the return to Tues class after racing consistently but without a great deal of luck in some strong Sat night events. Last start from gate 11 he was attacking the line hard when getting within a head of victory. Only beaten 3m the start prior, he can bounce back with venom.

CHAPTER ONE (4) wasn’t suited last start from the 2nd line and when angled to the pegs looking for the short-cuts, was just too far back. His effort from the stand start 2 runs back was sound from a 10m tape when resuming from a freshen and with the added fitness and gate is right in the fight.

MACHIN OUT (3) has been racing well and is on the back-up from Friday where he scored a strong win when leading throughout over the 2138m and zipping home the last 800m in nice style. Settling handy from this gate won’t be far away.

CRACKA STRIDE (8) paid a heavy price for having a shot for the front last start and in a slick sub 27 opening panel, faded in the latter stages. He will get a much cheaper run here and has place hopes.

SELECTIONS: TOM ME GUN (9), CHAPTER ONE (4), MACHIN OUT (3), CRACKA STRIDE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: TOM ME GUN (9) to win
