RACE TWO

MISTER OZ (8) will have theeee50m to overcome, but he has been in great form of late with a top-3 at his past 7 in succession, including a pair of wins. This doesn’t look any harder than what he has been meeting and with the handicap relative to those he has been beating home, he can take this.

RUNNING FREE (1) is the big query, stepping out for Team Butt as they hit Brisbane with a strong travelling troupe. With the benefit of the 20m start, being a 3YO, she has never raced from the tapes. Fitter after a return 2nd to THE GOLDEN LION, if bringing her manners, she is the danger.

DAY TOURER (4) is a great beginner and can look to make light work of his impost. Not suited last start when locked on the pegs, he didn’t get a decent shot at them 2 starts back. He is up to this.

NORAHS FLING (7) dived through after taking inside runs here 2 starts back to score in nice style. On the back-up from Fri, she is a safe trotter and won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: MISTER OZ (8), RUNNING FREE (1), DAY TOURER (4), NORAHS FLING (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

MELPARK MAGIC (1) was a winner over this trip 3 starts back when finishing over the top once he was angled into open space. Stepping cleanly at his next start over the 2138m, he led and was only collared in the closing stages by GARLAND GREENE. With the options he gets every chance.

JEDDY R YA READY (7) was locked away against the markers last start and when finally finding open space, the race was gone, yet he attacked the line strongly to grab the bronze. Slowly into gait 2 starts back, he worked home in good order and 3 back was a winner over this trip. Big danger.

NORTHERN MUSCLE (8) shoots for the hat-trick and will have to overcome the 20m tape to achieve it. Allowed plenty of time last start, he charged home to score in great style and is right in the fight.

MATATOKI (2) was sent to the breeze from the 2nd line from the mobile last time out, with the work-load taking its toll. If able to step cleanly, he might be able to give them something to chase in front.

SELECTIONS: MELPARK MAGIC (1), JEDDY R YA READY (7), NORTHERN MUSCLE (8), MATATOKI (2)
SUGGESTED BET: MELPARK MAGIC (1) to win

RACE FOUR

SUPERBASS (6)
is banished to the outside draw owing to a gate break last start over the Menangle mile. Back in the pack her closing sections were good behind a winner who was able to break 26 sec for the final panel. Beaten as a red figure fav at Goulburn 2 starts prior, this looks well within reach.

STUDLEIGH SONNY (3) started from gate 11 3 starts back and attacked the line with venom to grab the silver behind STAR OF MONTANA. That was franked with a comfortable win in restricted company at his next start and is backing up from Fri where he looked well placed. He can feature.

ALLY ROGAN (1) makes her Qld debut and with the benefit of the inside gate should enjoy a soft run in transit. Yet to win this season, she has placed in 4 of 8 outings, the latest a tough 3rd at Young.

SELECTIONS: SUPERBASS (6), STUDLEIGH SONNY (3), ALLY ROGAN (1)
SUGGESTED BET: SUPERBASS (6) to win

RACE FIVE

TORQUE ONETWOTHREE (2) will take good benefit from her debut where she led them up from gate 5 and set a solid tempo, running sub-30 sec panels throughout. Only grabbed in the closing stages by ANOTHER STATEMENT and holding 3rd, she looks to get her chance here with the added experience.

MISS LILY MAY (1) resumes from a break after making a mess of the start in the Consolation of the Breeders Classic. Grabbed late when leading them up on debut, the margin to the winner was 4m. Trialling twice in readiness for the return and with the benefit of the gate, she can go close here.

BARONE (10) was given plenty of time to balance up out of the gate when returning from a let-up last start before working home in good order wide off the track. With the right trip he can place.

REMEMBER ME NOW (6) rolled to the breeze from gate 3 last start and forced to do all the heavy lifting, was in for the fight to get within a head of the winner. The gate hurts, but he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: TORQUE ONETWOTHREE (2), MISS LILY MAY (1), BARONE (10), REMEMBER ME NOW (6)
SUGGESTED BET: TORQUE ONETWOTHREE (2) to win

RACE SIX

THE ANNOUNCER (6)
faces another tricky gate after starting from gate 7 over this trip last time out. Forced to roll the sleeves and lead the 3-wide train, he was game to the line in a slick closing 400m panel in holding 3rd. Working home nicely here 2 starts back, he can arrive for the prize this time.

MAJOR CURRENCY (9) took on a qualifier last start when sent to the breeze from gate 4. The tempo was hot and he felt the burn in the closing stages with CLARRY arriving to take a sub 1.54 rate for the 2138m. Finding the line nicely here 2 starts back, this looks well within reach.

CARDLESFROMHEAVEN (7) is afforded no favours as he shoots for the hat-trick, landing the outside of the front line. Tough from the breeze 2 starts back, he charged home last time and can feature.

ALWAYS IN COMMAND (1) was having his 1st run in Qld and for the Scott Hewitt yard when not receiving any favours in transit here last week. With the improved gate, look for a sharper effort.

SELECTIONS: THE ANNOUNCER (6), MAJOR CURRENCY (9), CARDLESFROMHEAVEN (7), ALWAYS IN COMMAND (1)
SUGGESTED BET: THE ANNOUNCER (6) to win

RACE SEVEN

An interesting contest here with the 2 main players having met on Sat night in the same race. With the benefit of the gate again POLISHED ROCKS (1) can look to cash-in after some strong efforts of late that have not given the return. He faced a tough trip 2 starts back and following his run on Sat can capitalise from the ace.

FIOKI (8) took on the stand start sprint at Redcliffe last start and was sound to the line in a new track record claimed by LEOS BEST. That followed successive 3rd placed runs at Redcliffe and with a cosy trip on offer here, look for him taking the snipers shot in the stretch.

ITS JUST KENNY (4) fought hard to get within a head of victory 2 starts back after starting from gate 6. Starting fav on Sat night he went within 2.5m of the win and from the gate is right in the fight.

IDEAL WARRIOR (6)
was tough from the breeze last start in a Sat night Band 5, fighting hard when only 4m from the swooping winner PARISIAN ROCKSTAR. The gate hurts but he can feature.

SELECTIONS: POLISHED ROCKS (1), FIOKI (8), ITS JUST KENNY (4), IDEAL WARRIOR (6)
SUGGESTED BET: POLISHED ROCKS (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

CHAPTER ONE (8) was locked away on the markers last start when angled down from gate 10 to look for the short-cuts home over the 2138m. 2 starts back he set the tempo and it was only in the closing strides that TOM ME GUN was able to wear him down. He will be probing for the gaps.

KOTARE YORK (1) set the tempo last start from this gate in a stronger contest and keeping the speed on, was only collared in the closing stages with THE SHADY ONE swooping to victory. Fitter again following 3 runs back from a break, he can take control here and if able to pinch a panel can salute.

OUTLAW FELLA (9) is on the back-up from Sat and will find this much easier than his past 2 outings. Only 5m from the winner in an M0 event 2 starts back, with the right trail, this is within reach.

KETUT (6) has no favours from a tricky gate, but with his pattern showing a preference for swooping home late, it may not be all bad. Only 6m from ANNIKA MAGIC last start, look for him charging.

SELECTIONSCHAPTER ONE (8), KOTARE YORK (1),  OUTLAW FELLA (9), KETUT (6)
SUGGESTED BETCHAPTER ONE (8) to win

RACE NINE

KEY LARGO (10)
has been in nice touch since returning from a break and last start led them up, setting a sharp tempo when grabbed right on the line by a swooping CARDLESFROMHEAVEN. That followed a tough run from the breeze and although the 2138m is not his best trip, he might just be able to sneak away with this.

GONE WAY BACK (5) resumes from a break following a 4 start prep last campaign where the runs were well spaced. Her run last start a Wagga was full of merit after an early error and then charging home from the 2nd line to be within 2m of the winner. With her share of ability, she can challenge.

HUGHIES SISTER (2) capitalised on gate 1 to lead them up here 3 starts back over the mile and after the speed was too hot, faded in the latter stages. Not suited last start when too far back and against the tempo, she has claims here.

OUR UNCLE ALAN (6) was luckless here last start when making his Qld debut and saw plenty of the track when wide for a long way. The gate provides no favours here, but if able to get an ounce of luck, he is right in the mix.

SELECTIONS: KEY LARGO (10), GONE WAY BACK (5), HUGHIES SISTER (2), OUR UNCLE ALAN (6)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 2-5-6-10
