RACE TWO

IM THE COMMANDO (3) started fav last start and after stepping cleanly, looked to take them all the way over the 2138m trip. Setting a strong tempo, he as grabbed in the latter stages and faded out. His run 2 starts back was strong from the breeze and from the alley can look to dictate again in this.

GREG THE GREAT (6) took on the Redcliffe Cup last start and was up to his old antics, making a mess of things early and never featuring thereafter. His previous 2 starts were victories, the latest when sent forward to take control in the middle stages and busting the race apart in a 55m margin. His manners are the key.

MATATOKI (8) rolled forward early last start and facing the breeze was then in for the fight, holding on for the bronze. The big handicap is a query but with good manners can put himself in the fight.

NORTHERN MUSCLE (10) is in career best form, completing the hat-trick last start. He worked home strongly to claim the prize under mobile conditions 2 starts back and can look to overcome the impost.

SELECTIONS: IM THE COMMANDO (3), GREG THE GREAT (6), MATATOKI (8), NORTHERN MUSCLE (10)
SUGGESTED BET: IM THE COMMANDO (3) to win

RACE THREE

After being well supported in the market at her debut, TRUE STEPPER (1) should appreciate the good gate here where she will have the early options. Starting 2 out on the 2nd line last start, she was sound to the line when 10m from the winner. With the race experience to call on, she can take this.

MISS LILY MAY (5) will take great benefit from her last start when resuming from a break. Holding the pocket trail from gate 1, she was finding the line in good order to grab the bronze when within 5m of the winner. Finding early position will be key to her chances and she can be in the fight here.

REMEMBER ME NOW (7) was game from the breeze last start and after looking defeated, rallied strongly to get within a pimple of success. He lands another wide gate but can be thereabouts.

A BETTER CHANCE (4) made her debut against some handy performers, settling in the pocket trail when holding 3rd behind WILL THE WIZARD. Back to maiden company is a big plus and with the race experience will be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: TRUE STEPPER (1), MISS LILY MAY (5), REMEMBER ME NOW (7), A BETTER CHANCE (4)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

CHEESY FINGERS (6)
returns from a spell and has been to the Menangle trials twice to prepare for her Winter campaign. Bursting onto the Sydney scene after arriving from NZ, she claimed the G2 Raith Memorial 1st up, running a sizzling 1.50.3 mile. A classy filly, this is a step towards some bigger targets.

SLIPPERY JADE (8) was attacking the line strongly last start to be the closest of 2nds behind SHEISWATCHING in a mares qualifier. The start prior she was an all the way winner in a Marburg to Albion Final, cruising home to a comfortable 8m victory. With a cosy trip she can look to chime in.

TORQUE FEELS GOOD (1) pressed ahead to take control from the front last start and setting even panels over the 2138m trip was only grabbed in the closing stages. Form the gate and back to the mile she can place.

RECIPE FOR DREAMING (5) started from the 2nd line last start and was hitting the line strongly in the closing stages to be within 2m of the winner STAR OF MONTANA. Finding position, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: CHEESY FINGERS (6), SLIPPERY JADE (8), TORQUE FEELS GOOD (1), RECIPE FOR DREAMING (5)
SUGGESTED BET: CHEESY FINGERS (6) to win

RACE FIVE

OUR LITTLE DIGGER (8) will strip fitter following his return from a long break and 1st Qld outing when getting within a neck of victory behind STOMPEM here last start. Finishing strongly to claim a Bathurst win over the 1730m 2 starts back, as the lone 2nd line runner will have options in an open race.

MATRON JUJON (2) settled in the 1x1 trail here 2 starts back when finishing mid-field behind TAXI METER. Taking on a mares qualifier 4 starts back, she was hitting the line in good order when finishing 9m from the winner MAMMALS MAGIC. From the gate she is right in the fight.

MELANNA BEACH (1) was banished to the trials 2 starts back when starting in Qld for the 1st time and also making her 1st appearance for Dennis Picker. With a sharp trial and an easy trip, she can chime in.

HUGHIES SISTER (3) used the passing lane last start when finding the line strongly and within 3m of the winner. Still looking for her 1st Qld victory, she can settle handy and has some claims.

SELECTIONS: OUR LITTLE DIGGER (8), MATRON JUJON (2), MELANNA BEACH (1), HUGHIES SISTER (3)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR LITTLE DIGGER (8) to win

RACE SIX

SUPERBASS (7)
rolled forward to the breeze at his Qld debut here last Tues and sitting parked he proved too strong, putting the leader away and cruising home in a 27.1 closing panel to claim a 6m victory. Taking benefit from the outing and further acclimatising, he can repeat the performance.

STUDLEIGH SONNY (6) started fav in the same race as SUPERBASS last time out when throwing his chances away in the 1st 20m of the race when going off-stride. Chasing gamely the effort was superb under the circumstances to run 2nd. He faces a tough gate, but he can throw down the challenge.

AUNTY BESSY (8) was on a forward move here on Fri when making an error and losing all chance. Placed in all 4 starts prior since returning from a spell, she can secure a cosy trip and be looking for gaps.

ALLY ROGAN (5) was locked away on the pegs last start after being shuffled back from gate 1 and when she saw space, the final split made it tough for the chasers. Fitter for the outing she can place.

SELECTIONS: SUPERBASS (7), STUDLEIGH SONNY (6), AUNTY BESSY (8), ALLY ROGAN (5)
SUGGESTED BET: SUPERBASS (7) to win

RACE SEVEN

INVINCIBLE LOXTON (5) should be close to full fitness following 4 runs back from a spell and should appreciate this class of opponent after meeting some tough Sat night combatants. Tough from the breeze 2 starts back when 1.5m from the winner, he was beaten by his barrier last start in the Mr Feelgood. This looks ideal.

HASHTAG (10) made an early error last start from gate 7 that saw him then settle a long way back in the pack. Charging home, he was attacking the line in good order. 2 starts back he was closing strongly behind COLT THIRTY ONE and if the heat is on early, look for him swooping hard.

SOMEPARTYSOMEWHERE (3) went straight to the front on Sat night over the Redcliffe 2280m trip but couldn’t see it out and faded in the latter stages. Back to the mile suits and he can be sharper.

MACH ALERT (6) took cover in the Mr Feelgood and from the trail chased gamely to hold on for the bronze. The wide gate is of some concern but he has the class to be a threat in this.

SELECTIONS: INVINCIBLE LOXTON (5), HASHTAG (10), SOMEPARTYSOMEWHERE (3), MACH ALERT (6)
SUGGESTED BET: INVINCIBLE LOXTON (5) to win

RACE EIGHT

There are very few horses in Qld that have been screaming out for a good barrier more than RAYS CHOICE (1). Returning some brave efforts that have not been getting the reward, he can look to capitalise on the improved alley. Only beaten 6m in a qualifier 2 starts back, this looks his chance.

LIVING AGAIN (12) was sent to the post fav last time from gate 12. Settling along way back in the pack, he was never in the contest when finishing mid-field behind TOP TRIO. His run 2 starts back in a much stronger contest was full of merit when probing for gaps, he can chime in late here.

TOMEARA (4) rolled to the breeze from gate 5 last start over the 2138m and stuck to his guns when finishing 2m from the winner. From this alley he can slide forward again and will be right in the fight.

OUTLAW FELLA (6) was angled to the pegs from the 2nd line last start and was hitting the line in good order to be within 4m of the winner. His run 2 back had merit and he will run his usual, honest race.

SELECTIONS: RAYS CHOICE (1), LIVING AGAIN (12), TOMEARA (4), OUTLAW FELLA (6)
SUGGESTED BET: RAYS CHOICE (1) to win

RACE NINE

MAJOR CURRENCY (2) is racing in good touch of late and last start was hitting the line strongly when only beaten a half-neck behind THE ANNOUNCER. That followed a tough run when rolling forward to the breeze and 3 runs back was only 2m in arrears. From the good gate he can look to take control.

CARDLESFROMHEAVEN (4) was after a hat-trick last start when slammed with gate 7 had his three-peat hopes thwarted over the 2138m after retreating early and then the tempo made it tough for the chasers. He was hitting the line strongly to score over this trip 2 starts back and is in the fight.

AINTNOBETTOR (1) made the most of the passing lane to arrive for the prize here 2 starts ago and defeat MAYWYNS COURAGE. With a similar trip in this, look for him probing for the openings.

JACKS AT THE BEACH (8) started from this gate last start when finishing 12m from THE ANNOUNCER. That was over the 2138m and with the return to the mile in his favour here, can be poking through late.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR CURRENCY (2), CARDLESFROMHEAVEN (4), AINTNOBETTOR (1), JACKS AT THE BEACH (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR CURRENCY (2) to win

RACE TEN

LEFT A TERROR (2)
led them up from gate 1 in the 3YO Triad back on Apr 13 and was only grabbed in the closing stages by FIRST STRING, finishing 4m in arrears. In 3 starts since that run he has not seen the front row yet hasn’t been far away. Returning to the front row in this line-up he can dictate.

SHEISWATCHING (1) shoots for the hat-trick after successive wins at the middle distance and the mile. Taking on a mares qualifier last start, she arrived for the prize after starting from the 2nd line, setting a new career PB for the mile. With a cosy trip, she will be ready to take the snipers shot.

KEY LARGO (8) has been in good touch since returning from a spell with a top-3 in 4 of 5 outings. Working home strongly from back in the pack last start when only beaten a half-head, he will be probing for openings.

JUSTALITTLE TORQUE (3) was snagged back in the early stages last time out and after settling a long way back was attacking the line strongly. From this gate she can be chiming in late.

SELECTIONS: LEFT A TERROR (2), SHEISWATCHING (1), KEY LARGO (8), JUSTALITTLE TORQUE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: LEFT A TERROR (2) to win
