RACE TWO

MAJOR CURRENCY (5) is racing in great fashion and here on Tues made the most of a small field to take control from gate 2. Carving out a sharp mile, he held on for the narrowest of victories. That followed a half-neck 2nd to THE ANNOUNCER. Able to work in his races, he can tough it out here.

AIR TIME (10) attacked the line nicely last week at Redcliffe when wide off the track for the last lap, giving the 3-wide trail to the winner who claimed a 2m victory. Tough from the breeze when only beaten a head at his Qld debut 2 starts back, he will be in for the fight again here.

PACIFIC DRUMS (11) will take good benefit from his latest outing when resuming from a let-up. Snagged of the arm he found the line in good order when 5m from the passing lane winner BARRETT. He can chime in late here.

SKYFELLA CAM (2) rolled forward from gate 4 last start and was working early when holding on for the silver behind SMOOTH SAILOR. Looking to find the pegs here, he won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR CURRENCY (5), AIR TIME (10), PACIFIC DRUMS (11), SKYFELLA CAM (2)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 2-5-10-11

RACE THREE

KETUT (8) is winless since January, yet he needs conditions to suit in his races and he looks to have them here. Doing his best work when saved for a closing shot, he hit the line strongly last start at Redcliffe and 2 starts back was rattling home. With the 1 looking set to light the lamps, he can be coiled and ready to strike.

OUTLAW FELLA (1) loves these types of races and over the mile from this gate can look to take control. His run on Tues was game after doing all the work in the breeze which had followed a tidy effort when using the passing lane behind CHAPTER ONE. From the front he will be tough to crack.

ITS JUST KENNY (11) pressed ahead from gate 4 last start and was doing the work when fading in the closing stages in a sharp mile. Only 2m in arrears 2 starts back, he can be charging home hard here.

PSCYHEDELIC (5) will be better suited back to the bigger track after never really looking at ease last week at Redcliffe. A passing lane winner here 4 starts back, look for him in the stretch.

SELECTIONS: KETUT (8), OUTLAW FELLA (1), ITS JUST KENNY (11), PSCYHEDELIC (5)
SUGGESTED BET: KETUT (8) to win

RACE FOUR

KINETIC KATE (4)
started from gate 6 last time out in a similar mares race when snagged back off the gate and settling at the rear. Working home strongly, she was the widest runner around the home turn and attacked the line strongly for the silver. Taking further benefit from the run, this looks ideal.

SOULWRITER (3) was sent forward from gate 12 last time out and forced to roll the sleeves from the breeze. The effort took its toll and she faded late to finish near the rear. Working home well along the inside 2 starts back, she can use her gate speed to find the pegs and will be gripping on.

MISS PATRIOT (11) made the most of conditions last start to fire off the arm and once taking control staved off the challengers to claim a 3m victory. With the right cart home, she can be chiming in.

PERFECT JESSE (8) held on for the bronze last start after racing keenly in the pocket trail when 5.5m from the winner MISS PATRIOT. With a cosy trip, look for her taking inside runs in the stretch.

SELECTIONS: KINETIC KATE (4), SOULWRITER (3), MISS PATRIOT (11), PERFECT JESSE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: KINETIC KATE (4) to win

RACE FIVE

This race might just prove to be a better spectacle than the Wondais Mate, with the contest shaping as a mouth-watering curtain-raiser. With his best gate for some time, A GOOD CHANCE (2) can look to capitalise and be rewarded for some outstanding runs in defeat. Forced to cut the breeze in successive runs, he was brave in each. From the front he can give them something to chase.

HUGHIE GREEN (13) was too big and too strong here on Tues when wide off the track for the last 1000m, but eh big fella kept grinding away to arrive for the prize. He will take further benefit from the run after being 3rd up from 12 months off the scene and can be asking the questions once again.

HOLY CAMP CLIVE (1) started fav from the 2nd line at Redcliffe last start and worked home strongly in the latter stages to grab the silver behind CLARKEY. Beaten the same margin the week prior, he will be ready to strike late.

BENICIO (12) was in for the fight last start at Newcastle and held them off to score over the 2030m trip. A winner at 3 of his past 5 and runner-up in the other 2 outings, he can work home hard off the speed.

SELECTIONS: A GOOD CHANCE (2), HUGHIE GREEN (13), HOLY CAMP CLIVE (1), BENICIO (12)
SUGGESTED BET: A GOOD CHANCE (2) to win

RACE SIX

I under-sold the reigning Horse of the Year leading into the Mr Feelgood, but COLT THIRTY ONE (4) showed why he holds that title when taking the race by the scruff of the neck and letting everyone know he is the best in Qld with a dominant display in front over the 2138m. Back to the mile this week, he can get forward and take control again.

ROCK WITH SAM (1) is in good touch and has been able to score wins at 2 of his past 3 starts, with both wins coming in similar circumstances when releasing the front and taking the trail. Hustling hard again here, he can get the trail once again and will be ready to close out when the gaps arrive.

NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (11) went to the stand start Redcliffe Cup last start and after making a mess of the start, found the line strongly in some smart closing sections. With the right cart home, he can be chiming in late.

WATCH PULP FICTION (10) was one of the few runners to make any ground in the Mr Feelgood and was hitting the line in fine style after settling a long way back. Forget his run 2 back in the Flashing Red, he will be charging home in this.

SELECTIONS: COLT THIRTY ONE (4), ROCK WITH SAM (1), NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (11), WATCH PULP FICTION (10)

RACE SEVEN

STAR OF MONTANA (9) found the front from gate 2 in the heats of this series and once in control had enough in reserve to claim a neck margin. His run at Redcliffe 2 starts back had merit when sent forward from the 2nd line and with some good front line speed here, can be charging over the top.

RECIPE FOR DREAMING (4) made the most of the situation on Tues when CHEESY FINGERS missed away and spearing to the front was then able to take control and lead throughout. He hit the line strongly from back in the pack in the heat behind STAR OF MONTANA and is right in the fight here.

ARCHACHON (3) has placed in 3 starts this campaign since arriving back in Qld with her run in the heat a tough effort from the breeze, only falling 1m short. She can fire the 1st shot here and has claims.

GINA MACH (12) was a winner 4 starts back when attacking the line strongly from gate 11 and cruising home to a big 15m win. Her runs since have been full of merit and if the tempo is too hot in front, she is the swooper to be watch for.

SELECTIONS: STAR OF MONTANA (9), RECIPE FOR DREAMING (4), ARCHACHON (3), GINA MACH (12)
SUGGESTED BET: STAR OF MONTANA (9) to win

RACE EIGHT

MAJESTIC COURTNEY (2)
was a smart winner here at his Qld debut when stepping straight to the front and once in control was never in danger when claiming a 2m victory. His run in the Redcliffe Trotters Cup was full of merit after doing plenty of work and back to this race from the front tape, looks hard to stop.

MAYBETOTHEMAX (5) was charging home from back in the pack to claim a stylish win under mobile conditions 2 starts back, landing a 3m margin. He was the best of the chasers behind the track-record wining EMPIRE BAY last start and gets into this race nicely from 10m under the conditions.

NORTHERN MUSCLE (6) completed a hat-trick of wins here 2 starts back when closing out in good order from a 20m tape. Dead game last start off 40m and beaten 2m, he will run another top race.

OUR OVERANOVA (10) is never far away in these conditions, highlighted by his game 2nd to MAJESTIC COURTNEY  2 starts back over this trip. Too far back at Redcliffe last start, he can never be discounted.

SELECTIONS: MAJESTIC COURTNEY (2), MAYBETOTHEMAX (5), NORTHERN MUSCLE (6), OUR OVERANOVA (10)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJESTIC COURTNEY (2) to win

RACE NINE

JESSE DUKE (4)
is a proven G1 performer and arrives for the All Stars stable a last start winner of the 3YO Jewels at Addington. The son of Bettors Delight is all class and his 2 runs leading into the Jewels day were strong against open age horses. With the runs on the board, he can chalk up another win.

SELF ASSURED (2) is the pre-post fav for the Qld Derby with TAB, yet amazingly, the gelding has only faced the starter on 2 occasions. Both of those returned wins over the long trip, suggesting the 2680m of this should prove little obstacle. With the good alley, this will be nice pipe opener.

ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (1) started from the 2nd line in the Redcliffe Derby when chasing gamely from back in the pack. E attacked the line strongly 2 start back and from the gate will get the cosy trip.

MUCH BETTOR (6) hit the line strongly in the Redcliffe Derby, running some smart closing panels on the way home. He isn’t afforded many favours from this gate, but he can stake a claim for a minor.

SELECTIONS: JESSE DUKE (4), SELF ASSURED (2), ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (1), MUCH BETTOR (6)
SUGGESTED BET: JESSE DUKE (4) to win

RACE TEN

Inside the 2nd row might be a great draw for some horses but for JACKS AT THE BEACH (2) it doesn’t suit. Drawing inside the 2nd at 5 of his past 6 starts and the 2nd line at his past 7 in succession, he just hasn’t had conditions in his favour. Front line- tick, mile- tick, bounce back effort- it looks promising.

HARD TO HEAR (6) has been racing consistently without landing the winning reward. Placed in 4 of his past 7 outings, the latest run produced a handy 3rd when hitting the line in good order behind the smart winner SMOOTH SAILOR. The gate hurts, but with even luck, he is in the mix in this line-up.

WILLBE DOC (4) was best of the chasers in a slick mile carved out in front by CHANTREY in the claiming ranks. Locked on the pegs he chased gamely when the gap arrived and he can place here.

CIRCLE LINE (10) will take good benefit from his latest outing when resuming from a break. From the pocket trail, he only faded the closing stages. A smart winner 2 starts back, he can chime in late here.

SELECTIONS: JACKS AT THE BEACH (2), HARD TO HEAR (6), WILLBE DOC (4), CIRCLE LINE (10)
SUGGESTED BET: JACKS AT THE BEACH (2) to win
