RACE TWO

In a race that is wide-open and full of chances, position in the run and tempo will be vital. Leaning to RUM AND SCHOTZ (5) to score his 1st win for the term if able to settle close to the speed. Grabbed late when looking to lead throughout at Marburg 2 starts back, will today be the day.

ASHLEE NITRO (3) will find this easier than her last appearance when snagged back early from gate 6 and then finishing down the line behind NIFTY STUDLEIGH. 2 starts back she was hitting the line nicely when beaten a half-head and back to the triangle will get her chance.

BLACKJEWEL (8) held on for the bronze in a small field here 3 starts back, although beaten a fair way. Things haven’t gone to plan at her past 2, but with a cosy trip here, she can chime in late.

SURFER JOE (7) did his share of work last start when fighting on to grab 3rd at Marburg. He will get an easy trip here and be probing for openings.

SELECTIONS: RUM AND SCHOTZ (5), ASHLEE NITRO (3), BLACKJEWEL (8), SURFER JOE (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

VILLAGE CRUISER (10) was locked away against the pegs last start from inside he 2nd line and never really had a decent crack at them. A winner here 3 starts back from inside the 2nd line when the gap arrived in time, the gate hurts but this is wide-open and he is worth a ticket.

SNAKES N LADDERS (2) will strip fitter from his latest offering when having his 1st run back from a break. Settling back in the pack from the 2nd line, he never really worked into the contest. With the improved gate he can settled much closer and is in the mix.

IMPETUOSO (4) wasn’t suited last start from gate 7 when snagging back to the rear. That followed a neck 2nd to GOALKICKER in a tidy effort and with good speed off the arm can fire an early shot here.

TASCOTT LADY (7) is never far from the action and if able to sight space can offer a challenge here. Only beaten a half-neck over the 1780m trip 2 starts back, she has place hopes.

SELECTIONS: VILLAGE CRUISER (10), SNAKES N LADDERS (2), IMPETUOSO (4), TASCOTT LADY (7)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

POINT OH FIVE (2)
was a winner here 5 starts back when rolling forward to take control from gate 3 and then once in front held on to score. In the 4 runs since that victory, he has struggled to land a marble, with his past 2 both coming from gate 6. With the improved gate he can dictate here

MAYWYN NO REGRETS (8) took control from gate 1 at Marburg 2 starts back and once in front, kept the tempo solid in claiming a sizzling win that broke the track record. From gate 9 last start, she was forced to cover plenty of extra ground when a game 3rd. With the right trail she can challenge.

NIFTY STUDLEIGH (6) started from gate 7 over the AP mile last start and packed too many guns to claim a half-neck victory. A winner 4 starts back when using the passing lane, he can’t be discounted.

CANDYFLOSS (4) didn’t have the best of luck last start from the 2nd line and striking some trouble as the race was dictated in front by TUAPEKA LIGHT. Settling handy she won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: POINT OH FIVE (2), MAYWYN NO REGRETS (8), NIFTY STUDLEIGH (6), CANDYFLOSS (4)
SUGGESTED BET: POINT OH FIVE (2) to win

RACE FIVE

THATS BETTOR (3) will be further tightened from her latest outing when 2nd up from a break. Starting in red figures she looked to take them all the way over the AP mile and was gunned down in the closing stages. A tough 3rd on return to STAR OF MONTANA, this looks her chance to cash-in.

TORQUE IS MY GIRL (2) has been freshened since her last appearance when well-supported in the market, she could only manage amid-field finish from gate 11. Runner-up at her previous 2 starts, she has placed in 6 of 9 for the season as she looks to score her 1st win. Her early speed will help.

COBALT BLUES (7) is starting to put it together and has now been in the money at the past 4 in succession, including a Marburg win 2 starts back. In the mix, he will need some luck from the gate.

HADLEY (9) was on debut last time out where he had met with good support in the market. Still green, he was sketchy before the gate released them and again soon after. The experience will help.

SELECTIONS: THATS BETTOR (3), TORQUE IS MY GIRL (2), COBALT BLUES (7), HADLEY (9)
SUGGESTED BET: THATS BETTOR (3) to win

RACE SIX

SHOWEM SIMON (4)
will take good benefit from his latest outing when resuming from a break and having his 1st Qld start. Too far back in the pack after sliding back to find position from gate 5 over the AP mile, he can look to roll forward and settling in a more prominent position can capitalise.

SHERIFF JUJON (10) was taken off the arm from gate 4 last start and settled b  in the pack, before finishing in nice style to be mid-field behind DATITUDE. Not suited when facing the breeze in a solid mile the start prior, he can look to swoop home strongly here.

IM TOOT (7) was a tough winner from the breeze here 4 starts back, cruising home to claim a 10m victory. Not suited from wide gates in 3 starts since that victory, he will be probing for the gaps here.

STUDLEIGH WILL (5) was back in the pack last start in the Marburg to Albion Final where there was nothing from back in the pack really make any ground. The wide gate hurts but he can still feature.

SELECTIONS: SHOWEM SIMON (4), SHERIFF JUJON (10), IM TOOT (7), STUDLEIGH WILL (5)
SUGGESTED BET: SHOWEM SIMON (4) to win

RACE SEVEN

TORQUE WITH ESTEEM (4) has raced back into some form and will line up here searching for a hat-trick. Away from the pegs early last start she packed too many guns in the closing stages to arrive for a smart win. That followed a tough win from the breeze and she can go close again here.

RUHTREBO (1) resumes from a break and has not been seen at the trials in preparation. A winner 3 starts back when finishing over the top to claim victory at the 1780m trip, he wasn’t far away at his next 2. With the options to take cover while fresh, he can be coiled and ready to strike in the stretch.

JACKS GAMBIT (7) was tough from the breeze 2 starts back at Marburg in a heat with the final at AP. Finding the 1x1 trail in that final, they were just a bit too sharp at the finish. The cosy trip suits here.

FLASHING GOOD TIME (3) was locked away against the pegs last start and never saw the space needed with the leader setting a strong closing tempo. With brilliant early speed she is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: TORQUE WITH ESTEEM (4), RUHTREBO (1), JACKS GAMBIT (7), FLASHING GOOD TIME (3)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-4-7

RACE EIGHT

MONTANA CHIEF (7)
started from gate 10 last start over the AP mile and was forced to cover plenty of territory when wide for a good part of the trip. In for the fight he was strong to the line when 4m from the winner. He will need some factors in his favour, but he can take the shot when it arrives.

IMA ROCKNROLL DIVA (8) started from gate 12 in the same race as MONTANA CHIEF last start, when making her Qld debut. Too far back in the pack, she was never able to get into the contest. Fitter from the hit-out, she can be sharper here 2nd up and be challenging.

BACK PAGE NEWS (2) resumes from a break and might just need a run under his belt. Beaten by bad barriers in qualifiers at his past 2 outings, with the good alley in this company he is still in the mix.

GOTOTHEMOON (5) rolled forward from the 2nd line to find the breeze last start and only faded in the closing stages from the work load behind ARK PATROL. He might need to work again to place.

SELECTIONS: MONTANA CHIEF (7), IMA ROCKNROLL DIVA (8), BACK PAGE NEWS (2), GOTOTHEMOON (5)
SUGGESTED BET: MONTANA CHIEF (7) to win

RACE NINE

LIFES BLACK (9)
will take great benefit from his latest appearance when resuming from a let-up. From the pocket trail in the 3YO Triad 2 starts back, he was diving late and went within a head of victory behind FIRST STRING. Hitting the line in fine style at his return, he can arrive for the prize.

KISS CAM (1) had an early look last start before squeezing into the pocket trail and using the passing lane to be 5m from the winner DATITUDE. That was his 1st outing since April and with the added fitness and the options from the ace, he looks to get every chance.

TOPNOTCH MACH (5) didn’t have the cleanest passage last start when trying to make ground in a slick closing 800m. That followed a mid-field finish via the passing lane and he has place claims here.

TAXI METER (8) capitalised last start when holding the front from gate 2 and then dictating to claim a 4m victory in a new PB. That followed a tough run in the breeze and with even luck he can feature.

SELECTIONS: LIFES BLACK (9), KISS CAM (1), TOPNOTCH MACH (5), TAXI METER (8)
SUGGESTED BET: LIFES BLACK (9) to win
