RACE ONE

CONSTANTLYSIDEWAYS (6)
started fav here last week from inside the 2nd line and was buried 3 back along the pegs. He didn’t get a clear shot and was still only 1m from the winner, charging late. There looks some good early speed to allow him to work across for position and the super consistent 6YO will go close.
ANOTHER BROADWAY (4) looked to make the most of his best gate in some time here last start and spearing to the front controlled the speed, setting a 56.8 closing 800m yet was grabbed up the passing lane. He will strip fitter from that run and firing the shots early can look to take control.
TOP TRIO (3) used the passing lane to get within a half-neck of the all-the-way winning COVERT BEAUTY last start. Not suited 2 starts back, he has been in the money in 4 of his past 5 and should get a good spot here.
CASINO TOMMY (10) was warming up to victory with 3 successive placed runs and then cashed-in scoring a dominant 14m victory in a qualifier. He did plenty of work last week when 4m away and with the early speed can work home strongly.

SELECTIONS: CONSTANTLYSIDEWAYS (6), ANOTHER BROADWAY (4), TOP TRIO (3), CASINO TOMMY (10)
SUGGESTED BET: CONSTANTLYSIDEWAYS (6) to win

RACE TWO

JOSSIE JAMES (1) is having a great season and in the heat for this final was working hard in the breeze and kept driving on the line to get within a half-head. A passing lane winner 3 starts back she can hold early to get the right trail and will be closing out hard along the lane again.
THREE OF THE BEST (3) pressed ahead to get to the front in a C4-5 Final here 2 starts back and joined by ELENIARK at the 1000m they went to war and in a 54.8 closing half he was able to hold on. In the heats of this he sat outside MARETTI but couldn’t reel him in. He can get to the pegs and be gripping on.
If the winner comes from outside of these 2 those lining up for a shot include BET IM SPECIAL (8) who made the most of gate 2 to win his heat, where he only had to sprint the last panel, in a slick 28.8. MARETTI (11) is low-flying at present including a hat-trick of wins and a heat win of this when leading throughout. That gate spoils his chances.
ROCK WITH SAM (9)
will be fitter for 2 runs back from a break and hit the line nicely in the heat when 3rd to BET IM SPECIAL. He will be winning very soon and if the pace is too strong look for PSCHEDELIC (10) finishing hard over the top.

SELECTIONS: JOSSIE JAMES (1), THREE OF THE BEST (3), BET IM SPECIAL (8), MARETTI (11)
SUGGESTED BET: JOSSIE JAMES (1) to win

RACE THREE

ROYAL COUNSEL (3) had little problem in holding the front from gate 1 last start and once in control kept the gas on all the way to secure a career-best win rate of 1.53.6, doing it comfortably with 9m to spare. That followed a half-head 2nd when returning from a break and with the added fitness looks hard to stop.
ARROKEEFE (4) looked to press forward here on Monday but wasn’t able to get across and settled with running line cover to hold 4th when 3m from LUCIFERS LEGEND. He can slide across to look for position and will be running on in the closing stages.
BUNDABURRA (8) will need a slice of luck to see open space from the gate, but he is flying since arriving in Qld. Just needs to see space.
TALLYHO BROMAC (1) has been running into some handy types from tricky draws and running nice races. With the improved gate will get a great trip to offer a late challenge.

SELECTIONS: ROYAL COUNSEL (3), ARROKEEFE (4), BUNDABURRA (8), TALLYHO BROMAC (1)
SUGGESTED BET: ROYAL COUNSEL (3) to win

RACE FOUR

BETTABE PERFECT (6)
is racing in good style and hasn’t been far away in recent outings. Last week from the running line he was only 4m from GANGSTER BOY in a solid 2138m run and 3 starts back was attacking the line from a 2nd row gate to land a 4m 2nd to BEAVER. With even luck he can swoop over the top.
ALLELUIA (10) has been more consistent in recent weeks and cashed-in for a late-closing win over the mile here 3 starts back and can do so again here.
ALWAYS MY MATE (9) started off the ace last time out and after taking the trail didn’t want to go in the passing lane and lost his momentum at a vital stage. Look for him closing strongly.
POLISHED ROCKS (1) can be forgiven for last week, his runs prior to that were good from tough gates and he is worth another chance.

SELECTIONS: BETTABE PERFECT (6), ALLELUIA (10), ALWAYS MY MATE (9), POLISHED ROCKS (1)
SUGGESTED BET: BETTABE PERFECT (6) each-way

RACE FIVE

ANYCHANCE (9) was 1st up from a break last week from the 7-hole and went back trying to find position and was well back when looking to work home. His final run last prep was a solid effort and he strikes the right race here to circle early and lay down the challenge displaying his dominance.
TOMEARA (2) rolled forward from gate 5 last start and was content to cut the breeze over the mile and was too strong for his rivals to score a 2m victory and he is the danger.
RIVERLEIGH ROCKET (8) will need some luck from the gate but should appreciate a cosy trip over the 2138m which is not his best distance.
LIVING GRAND (5) has been racing well without a great deal of luck before going back to Redcliffe for a confidence builder where he was far too strong.

SELECTIONS: ANYCHANCE (9), TOMEARA (2), RIVERLEIGH ROCKET (8), LIVING GRAND (5)
SUGGESTED BET: ANYCHANCE (9) to win

RACE SIX

MONTANA FALCON (8)
wasn’t suited last week over the 2138m trip and didn’t run on, while the start prior from gate 7 he was set alight early to find the front spending plenty to get there and then immediately attacked. He can follow the likely leader here and back to the mile with the soft run, look for a much sharper effort.
MAX RICHTER (1) has faced some wide gates in recent starts which have not been suiting and with the return to this gate he will be looking to take full advantage.
THREO (3) was forced to work home wide out from the 2nd line last time the run was good and from the gate he will be in the firing line.
EXCEPTIONAL MACH (10) steps back to claiming company after managing to take out a band 5 last week. The gate doesn’t help his pattern, but with 5 wins in his past 7 starts he can’t be discounted.

SELECTIONS: MONTANA FALCON (8), MAX RICHTER (1), THREO (3), EXCEPTIONAL MACH (10)
SUGGESTED BET: MONTANA FALCON (8) to win

RACE SEVEN

In arguably the best McNeil Memorial field assembled, there are plenty of square-gaiters that are putting their hoof forward with a genuine claim for victory

SOUTHERN ALPS (2) stepped cleanly in the first round heats and once in control was never in danger in scoring a 5m victory. In the 2nd round he was again safely into stride and was grabbed in the stretch by the flying SPIRIT WALKER. The tempo should be stronger and out to the 2647m should work to his advantage.
NEEDLE (3) could not be any more impressive since arriving from NZ and remains undefeated from 3 outings heading into the final. In both heats she has been well into stride and sent forward to find the front each time. She looks a talented mare and will be throwing down the challenge.
NORTHERN MUSCLE (11) has claimed the bronze in both heats, the 1st when sitting outside SOUTHERN ALPS and the 2nd outside NEEDLE. The longer trip for the 1st time is a query. He will need some factors to go his way.
SPIRIT WALKER (6) came with a well-timed run to grab SOUTHERN ALPS near the post and claim victory in the 2nd heat. An eye-catcher at Redcliffe 3 starts back, she is the off-pace swooper.

SELECTIONS: SOUTHERN ALPS (2), NEEDLE (3), NORTHERN MUSCLE (11), SPIRIT WALKER (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

MAYWYN TOUGH (1)
led them up on debut and was grabbed up the passing lane by the stable-mate SPRINGFIELD DESIRE. Last start he rolled forward to find the front and then controlled the tempo and ran home in good order to score. With the options, he looks the won in a feature race hard to line-up.
CHERRYS THE BEST (2) makes her debut for the powerful Dixon stable and is a filly by top sire Mach Three from the G1 winning mare Cherry Cheer. A nice trial winner when never really asked for too much and she didn’t let SPRINGFIELD DESIRE get past her when he loomed up. The market needs to be watched here.
MISS MONEY BAGS (3) was impressive on debut here on Tuesday when scoring victory up the passing lane, changing gears nicely when the gap arrived. Her trial was an eye-catcher behind CHERRYS THE BEST and can be closing strongly.
LEFT A TERROR (9) has placed in 3 career starts and should find a nice position by following through early. With the race experience and manners, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: MAYWYN TOUGH (1), CHERRYS THE BEST (2), MISS MONEY BAGS (3), LEFT A TERROR (9)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE NINE

FRANKIE ROCKS (8)
has always shown plenty of ability and he looks to be in career best touch with 4 wins in a row. On Tuesday he rolled forward to cut the breeze and in a strong closing 800m was too strong to the line holding off the late charge. That followed a strong win from gate 7 and with the cosy trip will be sprinting hard when the gap opens.
MAKO BANNER (1) is flying and was closing late on Tues to get within a half-neck of FRANKIE ROCKS. With the speed to hold them wide here will be gripping on in the closing stages.
GLENFERRIE HOOD (10) was back to his best last start when sent forward and kept the pressure on to find the front and once in control was too strong, running a sub 55 closing 800m. The gate hurts.
VILLAGE WITCH (2) might be working early here which is not ideal, but she won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: FRANKIE ROCKS (8), MAKO BANNER (1), GLENFERRIE HOOD (10), VILLAGE WITCH (2)
SUGGESTED BET: FRANKIE ROCKS (8) to win

RACE TEN

GEORGIA GRACE (2)
can look to pull the trigger early and first to the pegs will have the options of looking for an all the way win or release. First-up from a freshen she was sent out fav over the mile and settling back in the running line was 6.5m from TREVS NO ANGEL. Back to mares only she looks to get her chance.
CHARMS ON A ROLL (4) secured successive wins over this trip and has followed that with successive 4th placed runs over the 2138m trip. She can look for the pegs with early speed and give a sight.
GOTTA GLOW (1) is likely to be shuffled out early here, if she can see space can run-on late.
IMA GRUMPY POSSUM (9) burnt the 3rd panel in front and her chances at the same time, finishing mid-field behind FIREBBY last start. With a nice run through at the start, she can be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: GEORGIA GRACE (2), CHARMS ON A ROLL (4), GOTTA GLOW (1), IMA GRUMPY POSSUM (9)
SUGGESTED BET: GEORGIA GRACE (2) to win
