RACE TWO

SPRIGFIELD SPIRIT (5) is still an AP maiden after 6 attempts but has been able to place in 4 of those appearances. Starting from gate 10 last time out at Redcliffe he was closing out in good order to grab the bronze. From the gate he can settle handy to the speed and claim what looks wide-open.

FEEL THE REIGN (11) had been in top form on the triangle at Redcliffe and his form overall this season has been consistent with a trifecta placing in 19 of 23 for the term. Fading in the latter stages after working early in a qualifier last start, he will appreciate a solid tempo and can swoop hard.

DARBY BRIGHTS (10) rolled forward over the 2040m at Redcliffe last start and was in for the fight when finishing a half-head off the winner. That was a sharper effort and building on that has claims.

ULTIMATE AD (1) was a Redcliffe winner 5 starts back when taking the trial from gate 1 and then finishing best to score. Not suited from 2md line gates on tight tracks his past 4, he can improve.

SELECTIONS: SPRIGFIELD SPIRIT (5), FEEL THE REIGN (11), DARBY BRIGHTS (10), ULTIMATE AD (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

MAMMALS MAGIC (12) faces the tough gate but she looks to have a class edge over this field and will just need a rub of the green to arrive for the prize. Taken back from gate 7 here 2 starts back she was laying down the challenge when beaten a flared nostril. Hitting the line hard last time out she can cash-in here.

GUTS (4) was driven for luck and gaps at Redcliffe 3 starts back and was closing out in good order when 6m from the subsequent winner RUTHLESS ARMBRO. Luckless at his past 2 starts if he can find early position without a burn, he can look to be chiming in late in a race that appears open.

ELMS CREEK (7) rolled forward from gate 4 last time out and did some work in a strongly run sprint trip. He has to overcome another wide gate but with not a great deal of power on the front can feature.

WHOSTOLEMYPIGEON (5) is still looking for his maiden Qld victory and this looks the type of race where he can look to issue a challenge. A game 2nd here 5 starts back he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: MAMMALS MAGIC (12), GUTS (4), ELMS CREEK (7), WHOSTOLEMYPIGEON (5)
SUGGESTED BET: MAMMALS MAGIC (12) to win

RACE FOUR

NEWMERELLA LADYKAY (9)
started fav last time out over the Redcliffe sprint trip but couldn’t quite reel in the tidy winner PRESEYBEGOOD and finished a neck in arrears. Starting from the 2nd line at her past 3 in succession and placing in each, she can look to open her AP account after 5 attempts.

POINT OH FIVE (5) has placed in both runs for the season with both coming over the 1780m at Redcliffe. Grabbed late when looking to take them all the way last time from gate 5, he was only beaten a similar margin when 1st up. Fitter again for the run he can throw down the challenge.

ALOT OF COST (6) will be fitter following his 1st up run at Redcliffe last start where he held the front from the ace and led throughout. He faces the tricky gate but with even luck will be right in the fight.

BETTOR BECAUSE (8) will need a slice of luck from this alley but if able to sight space with track to work with can issue a closing shot. Buried in the run last start the effort was sound and she is an exotic hope

SELECTIONS: NEWMERELLA LADYKAY (9), POINT OH FIVE (5), ALOT OF COST (6), BETTOR BECAUSE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: NEWMERELLA LADYKAY (9) to win

RACE FIVE

JUST JOSHIN (4) has proven costly in recent outings with a mix of bad barrier manners luck in running going against him. Last start from gate 10 he was given plenty of time to balance up in the run and making the final with the ODM coming off, he should appreciate the bigger track to cash-in.

NIGHT NINJA (5) is in great form having won 3 of his past 5 and finishing runner-up in the other 2. Buried in the run from the inside 2nd line in his heat run, he sprinted sharply when the gap opened to cruise past to a 4m victory. Forced to work wide off the track 2 starts back, he can threaten.

CARDLESFROMHEAVEN (10) will take great benefit from his run in the heat where he was 1st up off a long break. A Gold Pot final winner at his last start before going for a break he just needs some luck.

TELLELLA (1) will strip fitter from her 1st up run when using the passing lane to get within 6m of the winner NIGHT NINJA. That was her 1st run for the term and with options from the gate has claims.

SELECTIONS: JUST JOSHIN (4), NIGHT NINJA (5), CARDLESFROMHEAVEN (10), TELLELLA (1)
SUGGESTED BET: JUST JOSHIN (4) to win

RACE SIX

ON THAT DAY (2)
makes her Qld debut for the Donny Smith barn and arrives a last start winner at Dubbo. Taking the trail from gate 1 over the 2120m trip she sprinted well when the gap opened to take a 4m victory. A tough 3rd from the breeze 2 starts back she make an impression 1st up.

RIVERLEIGH WILLIAM (1) sees his best gate for some time with his past 3 all from the 2nd line. He worked home wide off the track last time and despite being officially 10th it was a blanket finish where he was less than 8m from the winner. A good winner 3 back he can challenge strongly.

SACHE GIRL (8) was after the hat-trick last start when forced to work home wide off the track from a 2nd line gate. She took inside runs to score 2 starts back and with a soft trip can look to repeat here.

ONLY IN ROME (10) has been meeting slightly stronger fields than he faces here but has the tough gate to overcome. Breaking a long drought here 4 starts back, with even luck he will be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: ON THAT DAY (2), RIVERLEIGH WILLIAM (1), SACHE GIRL (8), ONLY IN ROME (10)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-8-10

RACE SEVEN

MAJOR GENERALJUJON (4) started from the 2nd line last start and working home wide off the track packed too many guns to run away with an 8m victory. The start prior he was a well-beaten fav after working in the run and with this looking no harder than his last start he can go back-to-back.

MUCH BETTOR (7) will be 2nd up from a break and takes on the older horses here after a disappointing return that saw him banished to the trials. A tidy Penrith winner 3 starts back when leading throughout, he was game in a strong Menangle mile 2 back. Look for a sharper effort here.

NIKALONG HENRY (12) has no favours from the gate however lands the extreme from his own starting error last time out. Only beaten a neck and 2m at his past 2 starts look for him swooping.

HE GETS IT (5) has been freshened since his last appearance when hitting the line in sound order. 2 starts back in an Aspirational he charged late to get within a neck of victory and can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR GENERALJUJON (4), MUCH BETTOR (7), NIKALONG HENRY (12), HE GETS IT (5)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJOR GENERALJUJON (4) to win

RACE EIGHT

ZARAS ALL GOOD (1)
starts her 3YO season here after a 7 start 2YO campaign that netted a pair of placings. 3 starts back over the mile trip she looked to take them all the way when grabbed right on the line when beaten a half-neck by the smart BETAMERICA. With 2 tidy trials she is ready to strike.

MADAMOISELLE JUJON (7) is a Betterthancheddar filly making her debut for the Grant Dixon barn and is the 1st foal out of the 7-win mare Miss Real. Qualifying to race as a 2YO she was never sent around in a race and prepared for this with a tidy trial hit-out on Mar 20. She stays under watch.

SIR HASZEM (8) will take benefit from his latest outing when resuming from a break. Settling in the trail from gate 2 he chased gamely when beaten 6m. With the cosy trip he has place hopes.

SWEET SCOOT (9) can look for the early option to drop to the pegs here and that might be the place to race in this. Only 3m from the winner 2 starts back after a cosy trip she can repeat that here.

SELECTIONS: ZARAS ALL GOOD (1), MADAMOISELLE JUJON (7), SIR HASZEM (8), SWEET SCOOT (9)
SUGGESTED BET: ZARAS ALL GOOD (1) to win

RACE NINE

ELZBOY (5)
started from gate 3 last time out over the Redcliffe sprint trip and was hitting the line nicely in the closing stages when 5m from RADAR HILL. He faced a task the start prior from the 2nd line at Marburg and despite still being an AP maiden after 59 attempts, this might just be the night.

GRIZZLY MONTANA (2) will take further benefit from his latest outing when 3rd up from a break. Settling in the running line he was down the line behind the all the way winner SPECIAL RESERVE. His early speed and manners may be questionable but he is right in the fight from the good alley.

ARTS PEREGRINE (4) is another that has been around the AP oval plenty of times without success yet can stake a claim here. He found the line in good order last start and with even luck can feature.

KEARNEY LANE (10) has a tricky gate to negotiate but with the right cart into the contest is in the mix. An all the way winner at Redcliffe 4 starts back she hasn’t had the right conditions since.

SELECTIONS: ELZBOY (5), GRIZZLY MONTANA (2), ARTS PEREGRINE (4), KEARNEY LANE (10)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE TEN

GREG THE GREAT (6)
has plenty of convictions but if at his best this is a race well within reach. A winner of a McNeil heat prior to a solid run when 3rd to SCORCHED in the final he has since made errors at his next 2 appearances. He is a risk with his manners but can claim this if on his game.

GARLAND GREENE (1) showed good improvement here 2nd up when securing a good run in behind the speed and making a late charge along the inside to get within a neck of JEDDY R YA READY. Forget his last start when making an error, he can get a great trip and has claims here.

DAY TOURER (4) has placed at his past 2 starts and is normally a safe beginner from the tapes. Leading them up from the mobile last start he was grabbed late and can be thereabouts again.

SOH TWISTED (2) wasn’t suited last start when forced to work in the run over the 2138m mobile trip and faded in the latter stages. Only beaten 2m 2 starts back she can be sharper from the tapes.

SELECTIONS: GREG THE GREAT (6), GARLAND GREENE (1), DAY TOURER (4), SOH TWISTED (2)
SUGGESTED BET: GREG THE GREAT (6) looks worth the risk
