RACE TWO

BETTERTHANLEGO (2) kicked off her 3YO term last start at Redcliffe when starting fav from gate 10. Never looking comfortable in trait, she made errors but was still able to get within 2m of the winner in an eye-catching effort. Trialling nicely since that return, the bigger oval should help in this.

JAMES THE JET (8) has been to the track on 4 occasions since starting his career and returned a mixed bag of results. He set a strong tempo in front last start against some experienced types and faded late under the effort. Back to maiden company here and with an easier trip, can see him feature.

SWEET JASMINE (3) was 1st up for the season last start at Redcliffe when sitting back as the tempo unfolded up front. Making a late charge from her 2nd line gate to arrive for a smart win, she can chime in here.

ITS SUPER EASY (5) will take great benefit from his debut run here last time out where he was down the line behind more race seasoned rivals. Back to maiden grade look for him to be sharper.

SELECTIONS: BETTERTHANLEGO (2), JAMES THE JET (8), SWEET JASMINE (3), ITS SUPER EASY (5)
SUGGESTED BET: BETTERTHANLEGO (2) to win

RACE THREE

This shapes as a tricky contest and although he has struggled to claim victory recently, the ever-consistent IFYOUBELIEVE (4) might just be able to pinch this. A winner 8 starts back at Marburg, he has placed at his past 7 in succession since that victory. Early position will be key, but he can arrive.

CHROMOZONE (1) struck trouble last start at Tamworth and has since been to the trials to sharpen. Ending up in the breeze over the mile in that trial, she was sent forward before powering home to a tidy performance. With the peg-line benefits, she can look to claim a maiden Aus victory in this.

MISTER FAHRENHEIT (2) punched through from gate 1 to keep them wide last start at Redcliffe and looking to take them all the way had to settle for the bronze when beaten a neck. He can challenge.

DEVOUGED (5) rolled forward last start when doing some early work prior to receiving cover and then finishing mid-field behind OASIS DREAM. Forced to race tough the start prior, he has claims in this.

SELECTIONS: IFYOUBELIEVE (4), CHROMOZONE (1), MISTER FAHRENHEIT (2), DEVOUGED (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (3)
is still searching for an elusive victory here at The Creek and also his 1st for the season. He might have found the right conditions here and comes into this with a strong 2nd last start against a stronger field than he meets here. Finishing 6m in arrears of LIVING GRAND, he will be tightened from the run and gets his chance.

LEFT A HURRIKANE (5) pressed forward from gate 4 last start and was forced to roll the sleeves over the mile. In for the fight he was game in holding on for the silver behind DATALDO. That had followed a tough run only 3m from STREET APPEAL. He may need to work, but is right in the fight.

CHANCELESS CENTURY (1) will take some benefit from his return to the track last start to kick off his 4YO term. From inside the 2nd line the effort had some merit under the circumstances and from the gate is in the mix.

HEADWIN (8) will need his share of luck from this gate as he looks set to be locked away. Lats start he was working home in the latter stages in nice style for 3rd and he will be probing again here.

SELECTIONS: ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (3), LEFT A HURRIKANE (5), CHANCELESS CENTURY (1), HEADWIN (8)
SUGGESTED BET: ROCKS OR DIAMONDS (3) to win

RACE FIVE

GOONLY (1) might have some poor numbers next to his name, but things just haven’t been in his favour of late. Snagged back from gate 6 last time, he was just too far back which had followed a luckless run when buried in transit and searching for gaps that didn’t open. His fortunes can be corrected here.

ARTHUR LOWE (2) was forced to cut the breeze last start over this trip and with a powerful closing half, was left wanting when fading up the stretch. Within 5m of the winner URBAN GIRL the start prior, he gets back to Tues grade which will suit after his past 3 in sat night company. He looms large.

SOMWHEREOVARAINBOW (6) was locked away from inside the 2nd line last start and chased gamely to grab the bronze behind the dictating winner TOMEARA. With 3 runs back from a break, he gets out to his re preferred 2138m and can feature.

SIR JULIAN (8) was sent to the breeze from gate 6 last start, with that pattern just not his go. It was a tidy effort under the circumstances and back to a cosy trip can be chiming in up the stretch here.

SELECTIONS: GOONLY (1), ARTHUR LOWE (2), SOMWHEREOVARAINBOW (6), SIR JULIAN (8)
SUGGESTED BET: GOONLY (1) to win

RACE SIX

RECIPE FOR DREAMING (9) continued to press forward last start and worked his way to the front over the 2138m from gate 4. Putting the power on through the 3rd panel, he was able to fight them off and cling on to claim a tough win. Grabbed late the start prior, he can make his 50th appearance at The Creek a winning one.

LIFES BLACK (5) had placed in 4 successive starts to his campaign since resuming from a break to start his 4YO term. He then had a quick back-up at Redcliffe off two sub-par efforts where he didn’t appreciate a gear change. With some alterations, he can look to turn it around with a bounce back.

TWITTER BROMAC (1) was back in the pack last start over this trip and was sound to the line behind WITH THE BAND. Grabbing the bronze, the start prior, she has the gate benefit here and can chime in.

SAMS A BLAST (7) doesn’t have any favours from this alley as he makes hi 1st outing in Qld. Arriving an 8-time NSW winner, his run 3 starts back at Menangle was a nice effort and he stays under watch.

SELECTIONS: RECIPE FOR DREAMING (9), LIFES BLACK (5), TWITTER BROMAC (1), SAMS A BLAST (7)
SUGGESTED BET: RECIPE FOR DREAMING (9) to win

RACE SEVEN

VINNY CHASE (10) put the writing on the wall that he was ready to strike when huge in defeat here 2 starts back. Striking trouble, he looked to have ended his day, yet chased hard and then was luckless when 4m from the winner. Putting on a power display last week in a comfortable victory, he can go back-to-back.

SAM IS PERFECTION (3) arrives with the Jack Butler stable and will be 1st up in Qld, arriving a last start winner at Penrith when arriving in the last strides to score. That had followed a mixed bag of results in his previous 3 after returning from a spell in nice touch with a Penrith win 5 back. He can start with the right result here.

SOME EXCUSESOMEWHERE (6) made an error last start when trying to protect the lamp lighting duties and his day was ended within 600m. Luckless the start prior, a win isn’t far away but we might have to wait one more start.

SUBTLE DELIGHT (5) was buried on the poles from inside the 2nd line last start and was really charging when seeing space to get within 2m of VINNY CHASE. That followed successive wins and he can swoop late again here.

SELECTIONS: VINNY CHASE (10), SAM IS PERFECTION (3), SOME EXCUSESOMEWHERE (6), SUBTLE DELIGHT (5)
SUGGESTED BET: VINNY CHASE (10) to win

RACE EIGHT

A tricky one to break-down to close the quaddie with those drawn closer to the pegs looking to reclaim some form. Despite the tough alley and stepping up to the 2138m, NEWPORT DREAMZ (10) might just secure the right trip to arrive. Claiming the prize in the last few strides last start over the mile in a new PB, it had followed a close 2nd from a tough gate. He can arrive again.

ETERNAL PROMISE (9) has placed in 3 of 5 starts this term as she gets closer to a victory. Only 3m away last start when using the passing lane, she charged home 2 starts back when 1.5m from the winner MILLWOOD TILLY. She can feature.

COBBLER LANE (12) was wide off the track last start when strong in the latter stages behind B MAC C. That had followed a handy effort after making an early error and he can work home into the money,

SELECTIONS: NEWPORT DREAMZ (10), MUMMYS BOY (4), ETERNAL PROMISE (9), COBBLER LANE (12)
SUGGESTED BET: NEWPORT DREAMZ (10) to win
