RACE TWO

SEA HAWKE (3) settled back in the pack from gate 4 last start over this trip and was hitting the line in nice style when within 4m of the in-form B MAC C. Sent to the pegs from gate 12 the start prior, he was again closing strongly behind JAMIES BAD BOY. He can look to get forward here and finds a qualifier well within his grasp.

BETTOR TO BE TRICKY (7) has been runner-up at his past 2 starts, including his latest outing when 1st up in Qld. Pressing forward to face the breeze, he was in for the fight and went within 1m of the winner LEFT A TERROR over the mile. Not far away at Menangle the start prior, he looms large despite the gate.

RIVERLEIGH ROCKET (10) continues to race in consistent fashion without landing the lions share of the loot. Hitting the line in good style last start after retreating from gate 6, with the right cart into the contest he can find the podium.

CONDAFEW (8) backs up from Wed night at Redcliffe and will need a slice of luck here to find the open space. Chasing hard for 2nd to FEELINGFORARAINBOW 2 starts back after being buried in the run, he won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: SEA HAWKE (3), BETTOR TO BE TRICKY (7), RIVERLEIGH ROCKET (10), CONDAFEW (8)
SUGGESTED BET: SEA HAWKE (3) to win

RACE THREE

RICH VIRGIN (2) was angled to the pegs last start from gate 9 and securing the cosy trip along the inside exploded clear when the gap opened to the outside to claim a 7m victory. Not far away in recent outings at Menangle, including a half-neck away from the winner 4 starts back, he can go back-to-back.

BLADE (5) won a qualifier here 3 starts back when working home strongly wide off the track after staring from gate 7. Leading them up from this gate over the 2138m at his next start, it was only SOLE AMBITION that was able to beat him home. Firing the 1st shot, he can look to take control.

JAMES DEAN (8) made the most of the pocket trail over the 2138m here on Tues and taking the closing shot arrived for a narrow victory. He will need some luck this time around, but will be probing for the gaps.

COREY WILLIAM (9) is better suited when setting the tempo, but with the front line looking to boast plenty of speed, can look to find a cheap run and swoop late. Tough in the breeze when claiming 3rd last start, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: RICH VIRGIN (2), BLADE (5), JAMES DEAN (8), COREY WILLIAM (9)
SUGGESTED BET: RICH VIRGIN (2) to win

RACE FOUR

TENNYSON BROMAC (5)
has been to the track 4 times since resuming for a spell, with the best numerical result a 2nd over the mile when working hard in the breeze from gate 7 and finishing a half-neck from the winner CHANGE OF MIND. Wide off the track last start when chasing, he can press forward and looks to get his chance in this.

CLARKEY (4) is going super without landing a winning blow, consistently running smart closing sectionals with placings in 3 of his past 5 starts. Hitting the line sharply last start for the bronze behind DARK ENERGY, early position is vital to his chances. Settling close enough, he will be swooping hard.

MY MASTERCRAFTSMAN (8) started from gate 6 last start and after having an early look for position was forced to retreat to get closer to the pegs. His run for 3rd behind KID MONTANA 2 starts back was solid and with the right trip he will be probing the gaps here.

THE BUS (9) was sent to the post as fav here last start over the mile and cutting the breeze held on for the silver behind DARK ENERGY. Getting closer to a win, he can be chiming in to the action here.

SELECTIONS: TENNYSON BROMAC (5), CLARKEY (4), MY MASTERCRAFTSMAN (8), THE BUS (9)
SUGGESTED BET: TENNYSON BROMAC (5) to win

RACE FIVE

After setting the tempo in recent starts but unable to land the winning blow, COLOMBIAN GOLD (5) should appreciate the return to mares only company here. Holding on for 3rd behind RICH VIRGIN last start, she was nabbed up the passing lane by WEEDONS EXPRESS 2 starts back. Spearing out, she can stave them off.

INNOCENT CROCKER (10) is another that should relish the chance to take on her own sex after some nice performances in recent outings. Working home strongly from a long way back in grabbing the silver behind DREAM TO SHARE 2 starts back, she was only 5m from the winner 3 back. With a sharp tempo she can arrive.

SWEET AS (9) found the 1x1 trail last start and worked home nicely to grab the silver behind JUST ROKIN. Her numbers might not show a great deal, but her runs have been better than that suggests and with even luck she can chime in again here.

MACEY JAYDE (7) doesn’t have any favours from out wide, but she has the ability to work in her races and might just have an early look here. Wide off the track last start, she was strong to the line when within 2m of the winner SUBTLE DELIGHT and she is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: COLOMBIAN GOLD (5), INNOCENT CROCKER (10), SWEET AS (9), MACEY JAYDE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: COLOMBIAN GOLD (5) to win

RACE SIX

MAYWYNS BEST (1) eased back from gate 5 here on Tuesday and settling back in the pack was just too far off them to work into the contest in the closing stages over the 2138m. Back to his preferred mile, he lands the gate to use his speed out of the machine and taking control will look to dictate.

RAIN MAN (4) makes his Qld debut for the visiting Morris barn and arrives with a last start 3rd at Newcastle. Buried in the run from inside the 2nd line on that occasion, he could have been closer with a more uninterrupted run to the wire. Down the line behind OUR SEQUEL the start prior, he can be sharper here.

MAJOR CURRENCY (5) has been able to cash-in at his past 2, taking them all the way from gate 1 last start to score over the 2138m trip. That followed a win at the mile and despite the sticky gate, can again be in the mix.

WITH AUTHORITY (8) charged home from gate 10 to score a narrow win here 4 starts back but hasn’t really had things go in his favour since. With a perfect trip looking on offer here, he can take the closing shot.

SELECTIONS: MAYWYNS BEST (1), RAIN MAN (4), MAJOR CURRENCY (5), WITH AUTHORITY (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MAYWYNS BEST (1) to win

RACE SEVEN

AZTEC BROMAC (3) will take great benefit from his latest start when easing back in the early stages from gate 5 as SMOOTH SHOWGIRL set up the speed in front. Settled 4 back on the poles, he used inside runs to hit the line nicely, finishing 6m from the winner. Fitter and settling closer from this gate, he can take this.

MACH ALERT (5) eased to the pegs from gate 10 last week and waiting for the gaps to arrive was sprinting hard up the passing lane. Not fluent in his stride in the closing stages, he may have been able to get closer than the 2.5m margin. Taking them all the way 2 starts back over the mile, look for him charging home again.

SMOOTH SHOWGIRL (1) made the most of this gate over the sprint trip last week when leading all the way. Working her way back into some form that had followed a nice 3rd to MACH ALERT and again with the gate options will be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: AZTEC BROMAC (3), MACH ALERT (5), SMOOTH SHOWGIRL (1)
SUGGESTED BET: AZTEC BROMAC (3) to win

RACE EIGHT

BETTERTHANSPRAYING (1) has been kept fresh since her latest outing back on Jan 17 when fading in the stretch of a Rising Stars heat. Setting the tempo over the mile, the 27 flat opening panel sapped her late as the smart TIZ A SIZZLER blasted home to score. A winner her previous 2 starts since returning from a spell, she can look to fight them off.

HOT FLUSH (8) finished mid-field last week when having her 1st look at The Creek. Eased back from gate 5 to find position, she may have finished closer behind the big winner WITH THE BAND with a clearer passage to the line. With the cosy trip, she will be coiled and ready for the snipers shot.

GOALKICKER (2) has been in the top-3 at 5 of her past 7 starts, the latest when grabbing the bronze behind WITH THE BAND last time out. Eased back before charging home to be 4m away 2 starts back, she has claims here.

IMMORTAL CHANGE (4) rolled the sleeves and did the tough stuff in the breeze last start and was still able to hold on for the silver. She might need to do it tough again, but she is right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: BETTERTHANSPRAYING (1), HOT FLUSH (8), GOALKICKER (2), IMMORTAL CHANGE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: BETTERTHANSPRAYING (1) to win
