RACE TWO

URBAN GIRL (1) has been in great touch since arriving in Qld and scores an improved alley to help her chances here. Starting fav last start and having an early look for the front from gate 3, she wasn’t far from the winner MAYWYNS BEST. With the options from the ace, she looks to get every chance.

BETTOR BE TRICKY (7) worked his way forward from this same last start to set up outside the leader over this trip and grinding it out proved too strong in claiming a half-head victory. Runner-up his previous 2 starts, he has the tough gate and rises in grade here, but can still throw down a challenge.

MY MASTERCRAFTSMAN (9) is racing well without much going his way of late and is going better than his numbers suggest. Making an early error last start ending his chances, the run was still big and he is in the fight here.

COREY WILLIAM (3) has grabbed the bronze at his past 2 starts, the latest when 3m from the winner after starting from the 2nd line. With early speed he can settle handy and can be in the mix again.

SELECTIONS:
URBAN GIRL (1), BETTOR BE TRICKY (7), MY MASTERCRAFTSMAN (9), COREY WILLIAM (3)
SUGGESTED BET: URBAN GIRL (1) to win

RACE THREE

This looks an open qualifier with luck and position in running going a long way to deciding who can land the loot. After hitting the line strongly last start to grab the silver, MAJORDOIT (1) worked home nicely in the closing stages when 6m from the winner I AM SERENGETI. Chasing hard to finish mid-field from well back the start prior, he can get the right trip from this gate.

CC JONES (9) is backs up from Wed night at Redcliffe where he took them all the way after pressing on to find the front from gate 5 and then setting a slick tempo to run some time over the 1780m. That made it wins in 3 of his past 4 starts and despite doing his best work out in front, he can challenge here.

CONDAFEW (6) has continued to sustain eye-catching runs every time he goes around while looking like he is ready to land an overdue win. Winless for other 12 months now, he has been charging home week after week and will be flashing late again here.

MAJORGENERAL JUJON (2) has been kept fresh since his last appearance when striking some trouble in the run. A tough winner the start prior at Redcliffe, he has claims from the good gate.

SELECTIONS: MAJORDOIT (1), CC JONES (9), CONDAFEW (6), MAJORGENERAL JUJON (2)
SUGGESTED BET: MAJORDOIT (1) to win

RACE FOUR

KLEENED OUT (3)
makes his 1st start this campaign in Qld for the Morris stable and arrives a last start 7th at Newcastle. Staring from a wide gate and hitting the line in good order, it had followed a strong closing 3rd when 4m from the winner after sent to the post as fav. He finds a winnable qualifier.

SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (5) went to the pegs from gate 9 over the mile 2 starts back and was closing out strongly to grab the bronze when 4m from the winner LEFT A TERROR. Luckless last start after restraining from gate 5 and then searching for an opening that never arrived, with even luck he can arrive.

NEWPORT DREAMZ (6) has the sticky gate to overcome, yet his efforts have late have been good enough to see him feature here. Working home in good style last start behind I AM SERENGETI, with the right tempo he can chime in late.

HEZA BROMAC (10) makes his Qld debut, joining the Jack Butler stable fresh since his latest appearance at Menangle on Feb 1. With a handy career record, he stays under notice in this line-up.

SELECTIONS: KLEENED OUT (3), SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (5), NEWPORT DREAMZ (6), HEZA BROMAC (10)
SUGGESTED BET: KLEENED OUT (3) to win

RACE FIVE

GOONLY (1) found the right conditions last start when landing this gate over this trip and taking the trail had too many arrows in the quiver, hitting the target with a 5m victory. 3 starts back he was luckless when probing for runs that didn’t arrive and landing the ace in this line up looks set to make it back-to-back wins.

BLADE (3) saw plenty of the Albion Park track last week when touring the 1660m contest 3 deep the trip. Fading under the tough run, it had followed a handy effort 2 starts back and 3 back led them up when only grabbed late by SOLE AMBITION. With speed off the arm, he can look to utilise the pace to get forward.

JAMES DEAN (4) sat in the trail here 2 starts back and with the soft trip was able to angle into space and finish best for a half-neck victory. Buried from inside the 2nd line last start, he might need to roll the sleeves here, but looks up to the task.

LEFT A TERROR (8) shoots for the hat-trick after successive wins at the mile. Rolling forward from gate 4 last start, his win was franked when 2nd placed BETTOR TO BE TRICKY claimed a qualifying victory last week. With an easy trip he will be searching for space.

SELECTIONS: GOONLY (1), BLADE (3), JAMES DEAN (4), LEFT A TERROR (8)
SUGGESTED BET: GOONLY (1) to win

RACE SIX

After starting from the 2nd line last start, TORI MAY (4) was charging home in the closing stage to get within a head of the winner but was later relegated out of the money for breaking stride crossing the line. Beaten by gate 7 the start prior, she charged home to get within a half-head of JOHNNY WHITE the start prior and in the small field can swoop to the prize here.

GOALKICKER (1) was back in the field last start and caught the eye in finishing strongly over this trip in a similar race at the mile, finishing within 2.5m of the winner. Buried in transit the start prior as WITH THE BAND dictated in front, she will have the early options in this to ask the questions.

HOT FLUSH (2) started from inside the 2nd line last start and was stuck looking for open space that never arrived. Hitting the line hard-held with nowhere to go, she was under 2m from the winner. With her best gate in some time, she looms large.

IMMORTAL CHANGE (6) is closing in on victory, having finished runner-up in both starts since arriving in Qld. Doing it the tough way last start, she was only beaten a neck and despite the sticky gate won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: TORI MAY (4), GOALKICKER (1), HOT FLUSH (2), IMMORTAL CHANGE (6)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-4-6

RACE SEVEN

RIVERLEIGH ROCKET (4) has been knocking on the door and looks set to strike, finding the right conditions here. Closing strongly last start over his less-preferred 2138m trip, he wasn’t far away and 2 starts back he was attacking the line late in a qualifier behind BUMPER with the right run in transit, he can arrive.

LIVE ATOM (2) couldn’t muster the necessary speed to get across last start from gate 2 and was left exposed in the breeze. In for the fight, he only faded in the closing stages when 9m from the winner. Not suited from back in the pack the start prior off the 2nd line, he gets his chance to dictate here.

HES NOVAK (1) was the winner of a similar race in early February and since then has battled a sting of tough gates. Eased back from gate 6 last start, the improved alley is a big plus and he will be probing.

BEEF CITY BLAZE (8) will have early options as the lone 2nd line runner. Placed at his past 2 in succession, he is effective when saved for a closing shot and can be looking to offer in the stretch.

SELECTIONS: RIVERLEIGH ROCKET (4), LIVE ATOM (2), HES NOVAK (1), BEEF CITY BLAZE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: RIVERLEIGH ROCKET (4) to win

RACE EIGHT

Only a small field of 7 to tackle this perseverance where the widest drawn LIVING GRAND (7) might just be able to grind out the victory. Forced to do it the tough way over this trip last start in a qualifier when fading in the closing stages, he hasn’t been too far away since his win 4 starts back in a race similar to this. He has this in his sights.

SONNY ORLANDO (3) did too much work in the early stages last start and as a result dropped out and was banished to the trials. Earning the return with a tidy hit-out behind SLICE OF HEAVEN, he can fire an early shot to get handy here and with the right trip can look to chime in late.

HIGH ON MONTANA (2) made an error last start that ended his chances after a tough run. Working in the run 2 starts back, he can press forward here and has podium claims in this line-up.

RAFFERTY DELIGHTS (5) went to the pegs last start over the sprint trip at Redcliffe and probing for an opening was 10m in arrears of the winner. Placed in his previous 2, look for him swooping late.

SELECTIONS: LIVING GRAND (7), SONNY ORLANDO (3), HIGH ON MONTANA (2) RAFFERTY DELIGHTS (5)
SUGGESTED BET: LIVING GRAND (7) to win
