RACE TWO

IS SOMETHINGBURNING (7) took a while to get into stride when the tapes released last start and found herself locked away back in the pack from the 10m tape. When sighting some open road, she really attacked the line with gusto to grab the silver behind MUSCULUS. Despite some dubious manners, she is worth the risk here.

SKYLINE (10) was looking to complete a hat-trick of victories last start when he had to be content with a 4m deficit behind the winner MUSCULUS. A big winner when powering home from a 50m tape over the 2138m 2 starts back, he followed that with an all the way effort over the long trip.

LAVROS SEGIL (3) was 1st up for the new stable last start when stepping cleanly from the 10m prior to releasing the speed and then grabbing the bronze. A big winner from a 50m tape the start prior, he can feature here.

MELPARK MAGIC (8) was after a hat-trick 2 starts back when he didn’t see the cleanest run in transit thwarted his chances. He atoned with a nice win here on Sat night when making the most of a front-line ta. The 20m makes it tougher but he is great touch and can’t be ignored.

SELECTIONS:
IS SOMETHINGBURNING (7), SKYLINE (10), LAVROS SEGIL (3), MELPARK MAGIC (8)
SUGGESTED BET: IS SOMETHINGBURNING (7) to win

RACE THREE

MUSCULUS (7) started from the 30m tape last start and after quickly finding stride was able to settle in the running line. Angled wider as the speed went on, he was able to work home over the top to claim the prize with a 2m margin. This is a step-up, but back to a 10m impost can arrive again.

JEDDY R YA READY (6) was forced to face the breeze last start and given plenty of time to look for cover didn’t really apply any pressure in the run. When the power went on, he was digging in for the fight and was within 2m of the winner in a blanket finish. Back to the 2138m suits and he can challenge.

MONORAIL (5) has been in great touch and last start chased hard from the pocket trail to hold on for 3rd. Taking them all the way under mobile conditions the start prior, he can feature here.

WEE MAN TROUBLE (9) has placed at his past 2 starts, the latest when hitting the line in nice style when only a half-head from the winner, MAYBETOTHEMAX. He will be charging home again here.

SELECTIONS: MUSCULUS (7), JEDDY R YA READY (6), MONORAIL (5), WEE MAN TROUBLE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: MUSCULUS (7) to win

RACE FOUR

GOJOE (5)
s still looking for the maiden breaking victory and despite a sticky gate in the centre of the line here, might just have found the right conditions. Forced to do it the tough way last start, he was in for the fight when finishing within 3m of the winner. His previous 2 starts were from the 2nd line and with a pair of tidy trials in between, he is worth the chance.

IFYOUBELIEVE (3) was in the money again last start at Redcliffe when buried away from inside the 2nd line at Redcliffe and not receiving the cleanest run in transit. That made it placings in 12 of his past 14 starts and from this gate can land in a prominent position to add to that tally.

TALENT IN SPADES (4) makes her 1st appearance since joining the Matt Elkins stable and will step out for the 1st time as a 3YO. Places in 2 of 6 outings as a 2YO, she has opened the pipes with a tidy trial and has place claims.

MODERNDAY FALCON (2) was runner-up last start when working home from back in the pack from a 2nd line gate. Firing the 1st shot, he can be thereabouts in this line-up.

SELECTIONS: GOJOE (5), IFYOUBELIEVE (3), TALENT IN SPADES (4), MODERNDAY FALCON (2)
SUGGESTED BET: GOJOE (5) to win

RACE FIVE

SPEECH IS SILVER (10) will be further tightened from his latest appearance when 2nd up from a break and displaying his class when powering over the top to claim a classy victory over the 2138m. When asked for the effort he was too slick, powering over the top to score. That followed an equally impressive return victory and he looks too classy here.

B MAC C (7) lands the tough gate again but lost no admirers in his last start defeat behind SPEECH IS SILVER from this same alley. Sent forward, he looked to be controlling the tempo and fought hard to hold on for the silver. That followed 3 successive victories and despite the tough gate won’t be shirking the task.

BUMPER (6) claimed a qualifying victory over the mile 3 starts back when finishing over the top for a tidy victory. Runner-up in both starts since that win, look for him charging home in the closing stages.

KURAHAUPO GAMBLER (2) has been in the money at 3 of his past 4 starts, the latest when making the most of a cheap run when 3rd to the in-form BETTR TO BE TRICKY. From the gate he has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: SPEECH IS SILVER (10), B MAC C (7), BUMPER (6), KURAHAUPO GAMBLER (2)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

MISS RUBY SUNSHINE (4) has been kept fresh since her last appearance when taken to Menangle for a tilt at the NSW Oaks. Just missing a spot in the final after finishing 5th in her heat behind DR SUSAN, she was hitting the line nicely at her last Qld run prior to heading south. Back to the mile here is a big plus and she can look to take control.

MUMMYS BOY (6) has shown good improvement at each run this season and lines up here looking for a hat-trick of victories. Taken to Armidale last start, he was too strong in the breeze when rolling forward from gate 6. Charging home from gate 10 here the start prior to score, he can challenge.

BOLT THE BOMB (1) was beaten as a red figure fav at Redcliffe 2 starts back when setting a slick tempo over the sprint trip. Making up for that with an all the way win on the triangle last start, he is in the mix.

SPEECHCRAFT (9) will take good benefit from his latest appearance when 2nd up from a spell. Angled to the pegs from the 2nd line, he was sound to the line in smart time behind ETERNAL PROMISE and has exotic claims here.

SELECTIONS: MISS RUBY SUNSHINE (4), MUMMYS BOY (6), BOLT THE BOMB (1), SPEECHCRAFT (9)
SUGGESTED BET: MISS RUBY SUNSHINE (4) to win

RACE SEVEN

ANYCHANCE (6) has been to the track twice since resuming from a break, sent to the post as fav on each occasion. Eased back from gate 4 when 1st up, he found the line in good order behind MAJOR CURRENCY and then 2nd up fought hard when only 3m from the in-form BETTOR TO BE TRICKY. The gate stings but he looks the class.

SOME EXCUSESOMEWHERE (2) found the front last start over this trip and kept the speed on throughout, only fading in the closing stages when 4m from the winner. Not entirely suited off the 2nd lien the start prior, he can use the early speed and in the absence of any heat applied, can pinch this.

MAFUTA VAUTIN (10) will take good benefit from his latest outing when returning from a break. Given plenty of time in the run, he as charging home to be 3m from the winner. He can swoop late.

PARISIAN ROCKSTAR (4) was taken back from this gate over this trip 2 starts back and settling a long way back in the pack, hit the line nicely in the closing stages. His run was sound on Friday and if finding a handy spot, he is a podium chance.

SELECTIONS: ANYCHANCE (6), SOME EXCUSESOMEWHERE (2), MAFUTA VAUTIN (10), PARISIAN ROCKSTAR (4)
SUGGESTED BET: ANYCHANCE (6) to win

RACE EIGHT

THATS HOW WEROLL (1) has placed at his past 2 starts, the latest when charging home form back in the pack after starting from the 2nd line. Only beaten a head, it was a real eye-catcher which had followed a tidy 3rd from gate 6 over the mile. With the early options from this gate, he looks tough to stop.

VINNY CHASE (10) found the front last start over the 2138m and after a steady opening half looked to put the power on late. Grabbed in the closing strides by JAMES DEAN who had the cold sit on him, it had followed a 4th when sent to the post as fav. Better suited in front, he can still be chiming in late.

BLADE (4) was forced to do it the tough way last start over the 2138m and couldn’t see it out. That followed a torrid trip when 3-wi the trip over the mile. From this gate, he can be sharper this time.

INVINCIBLE LOXTON (5) has been freshened since his last outing when fighting hard in the breeze and finishing 4m from the winner. He might need to do it tough again here, but can’t be discounted.

SELECTIONS: THATS HOW WEROLL (1), VINNY CHASE (10), BLADE (4), INVINCIBLE LOXTON (5)
SUGGESTED BET: THATS HOW WEROLL (1) to win
