RACE ONE

NEEDLE (4)
has progressed nicely through the classes since arriving in Qld. This will be her first start from the mobile in Qld so there is an unknown factor there but she has been bomb-proof in the stands suggesting there should be no issue and in NZ had placed in 4 of 7. Form gate 4 she looks hard to stop.

JUSTABITNOISY (9) will strip fitter from his 1st up run when resuming in an open mobile at his 1st run in 9 months. He held ground well in the closing stages behind OUR OVERANOVA. He warmed up for that with a strong trial and looks to get in here nicely. He can issue a challenge.

TWICE AS MUCH (2) gets mobile conditions here which have been his preferred choice throughout his career. 3rd up last start he found the line nicely behind SPUD and from this gate can feature.

ROSTEVARREN (8) will need a slice of luck from this gate but he brings excellent mobile career stats and at his best can take this. He made an error last start when 1st-up and if able to find space in time can knock them out.

SELECTIONS: NEEDLE (4), JUSTABITNOISY (9), TWICE AS MUCH (2), ROSTEVARREN (8)
SUGGESTED BET: EXOTICS 2-4-8-9

RACE TWO

GINGER MICKY (3) is a Flightpath gelding on debut for Barb Barry and is the 1st foal out of the six-win mare Im A Bonnie Sheila. He did everything right in a qualifying trial when finding the front and taking the trial. He looks to be right in this

MINTED MONTANA (4) is a Mr Feelgood gelding stepping out for Donny Smith. He looked good in winning a Redcliffe trial in a good rate for an un-raced 2YO on the Redcliffe triangle. He stays under notice.

ELLE JAY (2) is a Pet Rock filly out of Unforgiven which makes her a half-sister to 5 individual winners from 5 starters. From the Peter Greig barn, her trials have indicated she is a capable type.

MISS MIA (5) is another trained by Peter Greig and is a Modern Art filly out of Lets Rocknroll, making her a half-sister to 3 winners that all raced and won as 2YO’s- Ima Rock Princess, IM NORMA JEAN and COREY WLLIAM. She may be worth following.

SELECTIONS: GINGER MICKY (3), MINTED MONTANA (4), ELLE JAY (2), MISS MIA (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

BODHI TREE (8) was a winner here 3 starts back when taking them all the way from gate 1 and holding on to score by a half-neck. Too far back at his next start from gate 6, he was hitting the line strongly last start from well back when 4m to STATEMENT MADE. He will need a slice of luck but can shoot the gap to score.

THREE OF THE BEST (1) was crossed in the early stages under similar conditions from the same gate on Fri and was left flat footed when the sprint went on and laboured into 4th. He can look to hold the front this time around and lighting the lamps will be trying to fight them off.

BUNDABURRA (5) appreciated the return to Qld last week following a luckless NSW campaign and over the 2138m had too much power in the latter stages for a nice win. He is right up to this.

CIRCLE LINE (9) found his race last start and from gate 4 settled with running line cover and finished too strong to score. He can look for a cheap run down on the pegs here and be flashing home.

SELECTIONS: BODHI TREE (8), THREE OF THE BEST (1), BUNDABURRA (5), CIRCLE LINE (9)
SUGGESTED BET:  BODHI TREE (8) to win

RACE FOUR

SHERIFF JUJON (5)
started from the 2nd line last start in a similar type race and worked home for the bronze behind MACH SAM. That was his 1st start at AP after campaigning at Redcliffe and striking an open contest here can look for a handy position and finish over the top.

ONLY IN ROME (1) finds his easiest race in some time and comes up with the perfect gate to take advantage of the chance. Too far back last start he was 10m from SKYFELLA CAM 2 starts back from the pocket trail. He gets every chance here to score his 1st win since October.

JAZZY ARTIST (10) was buried on the pegs from gate 1 last start and worked home well behind the big winner INVINCIBLE LOXTON. Tough enough to do some work in her races she can roll forward if need be and has podium hopes.

MISS CATALINA (8) was buried away in a mares qualifier here 4 starts back and found the line well when 10m from GET IN THE GROOVE.  She worked home well last start and with the cosy trip will be probing.

SELECTIONS: SHERIFF JUJON (5), ONLY IN ROME (1), JAZZY ARTIST (10), MISS CATALINA (8)
SUGGESTED BET: SHERIFF JUJON (5) to win

RACE FIVE

LYKA VERSION (1) hasn’t had a barrier to suit in recent starts and has been working home from too far back in her races. Luckless last time from the 2nd line and striking trouble she was hitting the line nicely 2 starts back. With the early speed, she can look to dictate here.

BEAUTY BOUND (4) is still searching for her 1st win since arriving in Qld returns to the front line after making an error and being banished from the draw. Luckless last start when buried away in the run at Redcliffe. She can take an early shot and could even create space to land the pocket trail. Either way she can feature in this.

HEAVENS HINT (10) was buried away on the pegs in a mares qualifier last start and held her ground to the line behind THHARLEM HAMMER. If finding position without getting too far back she will be swooping hard.

PARTY STARTER (6)
worked to the line nicely last start when7m from COTTON COLD CANDY. 4 starts back she flashed late to be 3m from MY AJAYE and she has podium claims in this line-up.

SELECTIONS: LYKA VERSION (1), BEAUTY BOUND (4), HEAVENS HINT (10), PARTY STARTER (6)
SUGGESTED BET: LYKA VERSION (1) to win

RACE SIX

MAX RICHTER (9)
started from this same gate last start and was too far back when trying to make ground. 2 starts back he found the line from well back in the pack and was 6m from MONTANA FALCON. In a typically open claimer he can close hard off the pace.

RORY MACH (2) held the pocket trail last start from gate 1 and used his customary closing speed to land the win. He was swooping hard from back in the field 3 starts back in a conditioned race to grab the silver. He can settle handy here and be flashing late again.

DEVEIL DODGER (4) was buried away last start and too far back to work into the contest. Forget his previous start when taking on a stand start, he can look to get forward here and be hanging on.

SUPALINER (1) started from this gate 3 starts back d released the speed over the mile and from the pocket trail was 8m from the winner A GOOD CHANCE. With the cosy trip here he can fill the exotics.

SELECTIONS: MAX RICHTER (9), RORY MACH (2), DEVEIL DODGER (4), SUPALINER (1)
SUGGESTED BET: MAX RICHTER (9) to win

RACE SEVEN

THE HARLEM HAMMER (9) shoots for the hat-trick after successive wins both over the mile. Settling in the running line she found space and sprinted sharply to score and then here last Tues took them all the way from gate 1 and held on for a narrow victory. She will need a slice of luck but can take this.

PROFICIENT (11) has found his form and took out a qualifier 3 starts back when pressing to the front and then holding them off. A tough 3rd from the breeze followed and last start he fought all the way over the 2200m at Marburg in a stand start event. He will keep coming in the run.

ELMAUR JOY (4) will strip fitter from her latest start when returning from a break. Taken back from gate 4 at Redcliffe she was then against the tempo. With great early speed she can fire the 1st shot.

KEY LARGO (8) shoots for a hat-trick of victories but gets no favours from this gate and looks likely to be buried away. Both wins have been when leading throughout and if he gets a stroke of luck he is right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: THE HARLEM HAMMER (9), PROFICIENT (11), ELMAUR JOY (4), KEY LARGO (8)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

ARROKEEFE (3)
tried to muster early speed but couldn’t get across before landing the pocket trail after a scrimmage opened the hole. Carted back by tiring runners he had no luck whatsoever with that following a string of 2nd line gates. He gets his chance this week and can turn his luck around.

MAGOOGAN (6) has started twice since returning from a spell and will be tightened from those runs. Last start he used the passing lane when 6m from the winner ZARAS DELIGHT which followed a tidy 1st up run behind BODHI TREE. He can get forward into the contest here and issue a challenge.

GASMONKEY (7) had been racing consistently and been top 2 in 7 of 11 runs before being sent for a break. Not far away from THE SHADY ONE when resuming, he gets no favours from the gate here but can handle working in the run.

LANCELOT BROMAC (11) found running line cover from gate 2 last start when well held behind BUNDABURRA. That followed a 4m margin behind CASINO TOMMY. Never far away he has some place claims.

SELECTIONS: ARROKEEFE (3), MAGOOGAN (6), GASMONKEY (7), LANCELOT BROMAC (11)
SUGGESTED BET: ARROKEEFE (3) to win

RACE NINE

JACKAROO BROMAC (8)
was a passing lane winner over this trip 3 starts back when sprinting home too strongly for OUTLAW FELLA. He hit the line strongly last start for the silver behind BETTORTHANSPECIAL when running her to a neck. With a cosy trip he will be sprinting hard when the lane opens.

REMEMBER THEM (1) bounced back to winning form last start when racing tough after having a shot for the front and then breezing over the mile to score. Not as strong over the 2138m trip he has the speed to hold them out and will be gripping on.

BETTORTHANSPECIAL (11) is a quality mare and displayed that last start when working home strongly from back in the pack and finishing best to score. If she can land a trail into the contest she will take some stopping.

MAJESTIC MAJOR (10) went forward from gate 7 last start and cut the breeze over the mile and was too strong in hanging on for a half-neck win. He will be working at some stage and can put himself right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: JACKAROO BROMAC (8), REMEMBER THEM (1), BETTORTHANSPECIAL (11), MAJESTIC MAJOR (10)
SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 1-8-10-11
