RACE TWO

GIGANTIC JASPER (2) was returning from a break when taking on his less preferred middle-distance trip. Leading them up, he was fighting hard and only grabbed in the closing strides by BERTILS FIREFOX. Making the most of the sprint trip at Marburg to lead throughout, he will be gripping on.

SOMEHOWSOMEWAY (5) has faced the 2nd line from his past 3 starts and despite being wide in five, should appreciate seeing the barrier arm. Working home wide off the track at Marburg when 3rd to GIGANTIC JASPER 2 starts back, he then wasn’t far away from SEA HAWKE. He is right in the fight.

THE LAST DRAGON (1) has the lone career win to his name with that coming when leading throughout from this gate over this trip. Only 7m from THE RAGNBONE MAN last time, he won’t be far away.

LAZY BLAZE (4) led them up on Sat night in a race stronger than this when fighting hard to hold on to 4th. Securing early position will be key to his chances here, but he can’t be ignored in this line-up.

SELECTIONS: GIGANTIC JASPER (2), SOMEHOWSOMEWAY (5), THE LAST DRAGON (1), LAZY BLAZE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-4-5

RACE THREE

SPONDOOLEY (1) loves taking the snipers shot and he finds the conditions to lurk in behind the speed here. Snagging back from gate 6 last start, he was always going to be chasing from a long way back as he has been in recent starts. He will be coiled in anticipation to take the closing shot.

TORQUE WITH ESTEEM (2) was an AP mile winner 4 starts back when holding the lead from gate 1 and taking them all the way in a new career PB. Running into the smart SPEECH IS SILVER at her next run, she hasn’t been too far away from tough gates at her next 2. She will be fighting hard in front.

RIVERLIEGH JEFF (6) has the tough gate, but should find this perhaps a shade easier than recent outings. Capitalising on the ace last start to lead throughout in scoring, he can be in the mix here.

LITTLE BOLT (7) will be fitter following his latest start when 2nd up from a spell to start his 4YO term. Wide off the track from gate 8, he hit the line in nice style when 3m in arrears. The cosy trip suits.

SELECTIONS: SPONDOOLEY (1), TORQUE WITH ESTEEM (2), RIVERLIEGH JEFF (6), LITTLE BOLT (7)
SUGGESTED BET: SPONDOOLEY (1) to win

RACE FOUR

SOCIAL MEDIA (2)
sat in the running line over the sprint trip here 3 starts back and saved for the closing shot finished best to claim the prize. Too far back from gate 10 at her next outing, she led them up here last start over the 2040m when grabbed near the line. Back to 1780m suits in this.

LETHAL STAR (1) was strong in the breeze 2 starts back after circling them early from the 2nd line to apply the acid in the run. Fighting hard, she was only beaten an eyelash. Again, forced to roll the sleeves from gate 5 last time, she will appreciate a softer trip here and can strike in the stretch.

MONTANA NIGHTS (6) has another tough gate to overcome after facing a strong of wide alleys. Working home from gate 10 to be a 3m 3rd last start, if he finds position cheaply, he can descend on them late in this.

MOONLIGHT JACK (8) has been runner-up at his past 2 starts, the latest when chasing home late from the running line when 3m in arrears of KAANAPALI. With the right trail he can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: SOCIAL MEDIA (2), LETHAL STAR (1), MONTANA NIGHTS (6), MOONLIGHT JACK (8)
SUGGESTED BET: SOCIAL MEDIA (2) to win

RACE FIVE

JOICE MARY (6) appreciated the return to maiden company here last time out after meeting some much more experienced fields and saved for a closing burst, finished too good to score. That was reward for 2 nice efforts since returning for her 3YO term and she can repeat the effort here.

CANNAN (2) worked home strongly from back in the pack here 3 starts back over the 1780m trip after restraining early from gate 6. Finishing within 2.5m of the winner ARTFU LMASTER, he then didn’t have things go to plan over 2040m at his next outing. This looks his best chance for a while.

THATS FUNNY (5) was a nice effort to grab 5th under the circumstances last start after unable to find a forward spot she was restrained back to the rear. Only 5m from the winner, she is in the mix here.

DELIGHT OF RANI (7) was strongly supported in the market to head to the post as fav last start at his 1st Qld appearance. Making an error he was never in the contest. He stays under watch again.

SELECTIONS: JOICE MARY (6), CANNAN (2), THATS FUNNY (5), DELIGHT OF RANI (7)
SUGGESTED BET: JOICE MARY (6) to win

RACE SIX

This is a tough trot to dissect that is not made any easier by the capacity field. Despite the 20m tape, DAY TOURER (8) might just be brilliant enough at release to weave a passage to find the front and from there he would be ideally suited at the sprint trip. Grabbed in the last strides by LANSBURY over 2200m at Marburg last start and not far from IMAHE MAN 2 back, he can cash-in here.

THE REAPER (10) has a 100% top-3 strike rate on the triangle and added another minor to his tally here last start when holding on for the silver behind REGAL ASSASSIN. Taking benefit from that run when returning from a freshen, he was only beaten a neck 3 starts back and can feature in this.

MYRTLE BEACH (5) broke the maiden tag 2 starts back when finishing best over this trip to claim a 2m victory. From the 1x1 trail last start she wasn’t too far away and settling handy is in the mix.

SHEZ ALL MUSCLE (1) is a 4YO mare by Muscle Hill making her debut for Mark McNee. Showing some nice trotting skills in recent trials, she will face an ask 1st up with the handicaps allotted.

SELECTIONS: DAY TOURER (8), THE REAPER (10), MYRTLE BEACH (5), SHEZ ALL MUSCLE (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

KISS CAM (3) will be fitter following 2 runs back from a spell and will also take great benefit from earning his way back into the draw. Snagged back from gate 6 last start, he was working home in good order to be 8m from the winner. With speed off the arm, he can look to capitalise here.

MONUMENTAL (5) is in nice touch at present with a top-3 in 12 of his past 14 appearances. Last start he took on the Marburg Marathon and after finding the pocket trail held on for the bronze behind RORY MACH. Finishing best to score here 3 starts back from gate 9, he can challenge again.

MACH TORQUE (1) has had no luck in landing a marble in recent starts and can be much sharper off the ace. Luckless last start when probing for a gap behind GOTTA MOMENT, she is right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: KISS CAM (3), MONUMENTAL (5), MACH TORQUE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: KISS CAM (3) to win
