RACE TWO

FRANCO TOTEM (10) has a tricky gate but should appreciate this class of race after taking on the Rising Stars series. Meeting the classy MR KALYPSO in both heat and final he landed the 2nd line in each. Sandwiched between those was a strong 1780m win and this is his to take despite the gate.

VETTEL (1) rolled forward to find the breeze over the AP mile 2 starts back and was able to take control and hold on for the win. He hit the line nicely last start and tackles the triangle for the 1st time with the gate giving him every chance in looking to dictate.

EVERYTHING (4) had put the writing on the wall with some tidy performances including a tough 2nd last week. He cashed-in mid-week when too strong from the breeze and from the tough gate can place.

SIR JULIAN (3) claimed a 2200m SS at Redcliffe 3 starts back and followed that with a fast finishing 3rd in a qualifier. Put a line through his latest start, he has claims here.

SELECTIONS: FRANCO TOTEM (10), VETTEL (1), EVERYTHING (4), SIR JULIAN (3)
SUGGESTED BET: FRANCO TOTEM (10) to win

RACE THREE

JANUARY (8) added another minor placing last start to her extended consistent form. Using the passing lane after being buried away she finished nicely to claim the silver. There looks to be some good front line pressure here and with the early trail through can finish over the top.

THE IDES OF MARCH (6) was 3-wide the last lap when fighting hard behind SAMS A CHAMP to claim the bronze on a wet track 2 starts back. Holding the front from gate 1 last time he dictated in front and was too slick. He looks set to work in the run here but will be in for the fight.

FIFTH EDITION (2) will be further tightened from his latest run when 2nd up of a freshen. Doing some early work in the run he was only 4.5m from the winner WATTLEBANK FLYER. That followed a head 2nd and he can give this a shake.

FIOKI (1) was a winner here 2 starts back when able to come home with a wet sail to arrive for a half-neck win over the 1780m. With the cosy run from the gate he will be flashing hard late.

SELECTIONS: JANUARY (8), THE IDES OF MARCH (6), FIFTH EDITION (2), FIOKI (1)
SUGGESTED BET: JANUARY (8) to win

RACE FOUR

STEVIE DEE (1)
secured the pocket trail here on Thurs and using the passing lane finished too quick for her rivals to claim a 3m victory. That followed a tidy 3rd in a mares qualifier here last week when sent forward from the 2nd line. A good beginner she can look to dictate.

SOMEROSESOMEWHERE (7) makes her Qld debut for Cristina Monte and arrives with a top-2 finish at her past 3 outings including a win at Newcastle 2 starts back when leading from a wide gate. She will get the perfect trail here and be ready to take the closing shot.

DARBY BRIGHTS (10) was working home wide off the track last start and hit the line in good order to finish 4th behind OUR MAJOR DAY. That followed successive Redcliffe victories from the pocket trail and from the front. The gate hurts but the stable is flying and she can chime in late here.

VALTONA (5) found her race last start and hit the line in good style from a wide gate to claim victory over the 1780m trip. That was her 2nd run off a break and will take good benefit from the run and can look to repeat.

SELECTIONS: STEVIE DEE (1), SOMEROSESOMEWHERE (7), DARBY BRIGHTS (10), VALTONA (5)
SUGGESTED BET: STEVIE DEE (1) to win

RACE FIVE

GANGSTER BOY (4) has returned from a spell in great order and 1st up went down swinging when looking to take them all the way over the AP mile. Holding on for 3rd behind WITHALOTOFLUCK in slick time he then was huge in the 2900m SS at Marburg to score last start. He will apply the heat here and prove too strong.

CHAPTER ONE (1) did some early work when having a look for the front last start at Redcliffe and was only 4m from the winner. Charging out from gate 5 to go all the way 2 starts back, he has the speed to hold early. The query is the distance.

ROCK WITH SAM (5) did plenty of work in the run last start and stuck on well in slick time around the 2040m at when MATCH POINT sailed home to score. He finished best to score a nice win on the triangle 2 starts back and given time to balance up here behind the pressure can sail home late.

BULL MARKET (7) resumes from a break and should appreciate an easier trip 1st up. There is some concern about how keen he will get from the inside, but he can work home late.

SELECTIONS: GANGSTER BOY (4), CHAPTER ONE (1), ROCK WITH SAM (5), BULL MARKET (7)
SUGGESTED BET: GANGSTER BOY (4) to win

RACE SIX

CONDAFEW (7)
claimed the bronze when settling in the trail behind UNTITLED here last week in finishing 8m away. He was hitting the line hard here on Thurs to get within 7m of the winner and with another soft trip here and this looking easier than last week, he can arrive for the win.

LYNNSANITY (1) found the line in good order at Redcliffe on Wed night to be within 6m of the winner after making closing ground. An all the way winner at AP 5 starts back when finding the front from gate 2 over the mile, he can look to dictate and will be gripping on in the stretch.

ELFONZO (9) steps out in Qld for the 1st time for Al Barnes and arrives with a top-three at 5 of his past 6 outings. He looked to take them all the way at Swan Hill last start and took them deep into the stretch when claimed late. The gate dents his chances but he stays under notice.

LEVI JADE (5) finished best from the pocket trail at AP 2 starts back and sprinted sharply to take the win. This looks easier than his last start and he has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: CONDAFEW (7), LYNNSANITY (1), ELFONZO (9), LEVI JADE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: CONDAFEW (7) to win

RACE SEVEN

JERRYS JET (3) is honing in on a win and last start used the Redcliffe passing lane to get within 2m of the winner ROCK WITH SAM. With some speed underneath he can look to slide across to position in the run and will be looking to close out strongly.

WATTLEBANK FLYER (1) started from this gate last start over the sprint trip and taking the trail then finished over the top to take the win. That followed a nice effort after being buried on the pegs and with the cosy trip will be coiled and ready to take the snipers shot.

ZARAS DELIGHT (5) was big in defeat last start when cutting the breeze and digging in for the fight to get within 1m of the winner when running a slick closing 800m. A winner in mares company from the pocket trail 3 starts back, she will need to work here bus will be in for the fight.

LIKEALLOFUS (8) can duck down to the pegs here for a soft trip and saved for a closing run can look to sprint home into the money.

SELECTIONS: JERRYS JET (3), WATTLEBANK FLYER (1), ZARAS DELIGHT (5), LIKEALLOFUS (8)
SUGGESTED BET: JERRYS JET (3) to win

RACE EIGHT

OUR OVERANOVA (8)
broke the track record over the mobile 1780m trip here last week when he just kept grinding to the line to edge out NEEDLE by a half-head. Currently on 49 career victories he meets most of these on better terms under the conditions than he has been in recent stand starts and gets every chance to notch the half-century.

MISTER GUNSEN (5) was after the hat-trick here last week from the mobile when drawn inside the 2nd line and buried in the run he never got into the contest. Stepping cleanly he can roll forward and can give some cheek.

MELPARK ROYAL SON (2) will take further benefit from his latest outing when 2nd up after almost 12 months away from racing. His 1st-up run was a tidy effort from the 10m when chasing hard behind MISTER GUNSEN. He moves to the front line here, can settle handy and is right in the fight.

MIRACLE RISING (4) was buried away on the pegs last start and chased hard to be 10m from OUR OVERANOVA from the mobile. A tough run from the breeze here 2 starts back over the 2280m, he can place.

SELECTIONS: OUR OVERANOVA (8), MISTER GUNSEN (5), MELPARK ROYAL SON (2), MIRACLE RISING (4)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR OVERANOVA (8) to win

RACE NINE

OHOKA PUNTER (2)
added another minor placing to his tally last start when sitting in the breeze and digging in strongly to be 3.5m from the winner GLENFERRIE HOOD. That followed a 2nd from gate 2 over the 1780m. Hustled hard off the arm, he can get to the pegs and look to break a long dry spell.

ALLELUIA (5) was strong from gate 6 here last start when rolling forward before finding cover and then finishing nicely to grab the silver behind GLENFERRIE HOOD. That followed a tough run from the breeze and although he strikes another tricky alley, he will be closing out hard.

GLENFERRIE HOOD (6) is the form FFA’er at present and delivered the hat-trick last start in slick time around the triangle. All those wins have been from in front and with the tough gate here with the 2280m start making it hard to get across, it might be just out of reach but he still commands respect.

BODHI TREE (1) used the passing lane here last start and was 3.5m from the winner. Close up in each of his past 3 starts he will be coiled and ready to strike when the gaps arrive.

SELECTIONS: OHOKA PUNTER (2), ALLELUIA (5), GLENFERRIE HOOD (6), BODHI TREE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: OHOKA PUNTER (2) to win

RACE TEN

MAKO BANNER (3)
put in a top effort last start  when snagged back from gate 6 and then attacking the line to get within 2m of the winner ROCK WITH SAM. He set a slick tempo in front 3 starts back and with the early speed can either look for the front or might even create the space to drop in for a trail and claim the win.

SAMS A CHAMP (4) is in great touch with a top-two finish in 6 of his past 7 starts and is traingel specialist. He finished best of the chasers behind MATCH POINT last start which followed an impressive all the way effort over the 2040m. He can settle handy and with an even tempo be finishing hard.

OUR MILLWOOD MAIZIE (1) will get the cosy trip which suits her pattern and be coiled and ready to take the closing shot. With a slick closing panel in her arsenal she will be swooping.

FRANKIE ROCKS (6) looked to take them all the way here last start over the 2040m trip when fading late. The big query is his winless record here on the triangle and the 2280m which is not his preferred trip.

SELECTIONS: MAKO BANNER (3), SAMS A CHAMP (4), OUR MILLWOOD MAIZIE (1), FRANKIE ROCKS (6)
SUGGESTED BET: MAKO BANNER (3) to win
