RACE TWO

THE IDES OF MARCH (1) was a strong AP qualifying winner 4 starts back over the mile when pressing on the front from gate 5 and holding on for the victory. Since that win he has landed gate 6 twice and gate 10 here last week when chasing valiantly wide off the track. From the gate he can dictate.

JANUARY (8) added another minor to her tally last start to make it 13 of her past 15 where she has been in the money. Finding the front early before releasing to eventual winner SAMS A CHAMP last week, she held on for the silver. With the right early trail she is in the mix again.

LEXUS ON THE BEACH (5) was sent forward from the 2nd line to the breeze last start and found the early toll too expensive. He is having no luck with landing a marble but rolling forward has place claims.

LONG TERM FELLA (2) was a Tamworth winner 2 starts back when finding the front from gate 3 and holding on for the win. He hit the line strongly last start and from the gate won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: THE IDES OF MARCH (1), JANUARY (8), LEXUS ON THE BEACH (5), LONG TERM FELLA (2)
SUGGESTED BET: THE IDES OF MARCH (1) to win

RACE THREE

FRANKIE ROCKS (2) doesn’t have the figures to back up him being a chance in this but sticking with him and making him the on-top selection. His effort was sound last start when mid-field behind SPARKLING CULLECT when wide off the track and while he is winless in 5 attempts at the triangle and the mile looks his best trip, he can hold on from the front here.

ROCK WITH SAM (5) worked to the front from gate 4 over the 2138m trip 3 starts back and packed too many guns to score by a half-neck. With a line through his next run when striking trouble, he atoned with a strong win here when arriving on the line. He will need to work but is up to the task.

CLARKEY (1) was always facing a task last start with the race controlled from the front by TOP TRIO but his closing split was good. Fitter from the run and with a cosy trip look for him closing out hard.

MATCH POINT (10) lands another 2nd line gate and will need to do some work in the run but his effort last week was strong. Sprinting sharply the closing stages he wasn’t far away and has claims.

SELECTIONS: FRANKIE ROCKS (2), ROCK WITH SAM (5), CLARKEY (1), MATCH POINT (10)
SUGGESTED BET: FRANKIE ROCKS (2) to win

RACE FOUR

LIVING GRAND (2)
finds the type of race he can take advantage of and lands his best gate in some time after being no closer than gate 4 at his past 16 starts. He struck trouble in the run last start when down the line behind LILAC FLASH which followed consecutive 2nd placed runs. From the improved gate and a strong Redcliffe record he gets his chance.

MACHEASY (3) will strip fitter from his latest offering when returning from a break. Starting from the 2nd line he worked home fairly to finish mid-field. Only beaten a half-neck by INVINCIBLE LOXTON 4 starts back, his Redcliffe record is a healthy 13: 6-2-3 and he can challenge in this.

UNTITLED (1) has been struggling to show his best in recent starts and was a beaten fav from gate 3 over the AP 2138m trip 2 starts back. Buried in the run last start he can get a good trip here.

TED WEST (5) will take fitness from his latest outing when returning after a 6 week break between runs. Snagged back from this same gate he hit the line in good order and won’t be too far away once again.

SELECTIONS: LIVING GRAND (2), MACHEASY (3), UNTITLED (1), TED WEST (5)
SUGGESTED BET: LIVING GRAND (2) to win

RACE FIVE

EVERYTHING (8) was sent to the front last start from gate 3 and after spending some gas to get there didn’t get much peace once he did touch down in front. Battling gamely to hold 3rd behind LILAC FLASH the effort was sound. He gets the chance to chase here and with tempo can arrive.

FIERY BLUE CHIP (1) was last seen back in May when finishing strongly to claim a Marburg victory wide out on the track. He has been to the trials once to prepare where he put a much lesser credentialed field to the sword. With good early speed he can look to go all the way on return.

HOT DOGMA (8) found the breeze from gate 5 here 3 starts back and fought hard to the line when 1.5m from the winner who took the passing lane. On the back-up from Wed night he has claims.

TOP FLIGHT CRUIZE (10) is on the short back-up from Fri night where he will be doing battle from gate 6. He has a strong record at Redcliffe and with the right cart into the contest can feature.

SELECTIONS: EVERYTHING (8), FIERY BLUE CHIP (1), HOT DOGMA (8), TOP FLIGHT CRUIZE (10)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

GLENFERRIE HOOD (2)
speared across to find the front from gate 6 here last week and once in control never looked in danger to score a 3m victory in strong time. He moves in to gate 2 over the same trip and looks to get an easy lead and from the front can look to make it 3 on the bounce and 6 wins at his past 8 starts.

BODHI TREE (1) is fresh off being crowned the Qld aged pacer of the year and from the ace will get the perfect run in transit. From this gate last week he chased home gamely to be 5m from GLENFERRIE HOOD and with the same trip can look for a similar result.
WATCH PULP FICTION (7) will be locked away on the pegs but with that not a bad place to be in this contest can look to be making the most of the short-cuts. He charged home last start to be 2m from GLENFERRIE HOOD over the AP 2138m trip and won’t be far away again.

ALLELUIA (6) has no favours from this gate as he attempts to land just his 2nd ever Redcliffe victory. He worked hard in the breeze last week when 5m away and looks set for another tough trip.

SELECTIONS: GLENFERRIE HOOD (2), BODHI TREE (1), WATCH PULP FICTION (7), ALLELUIA (6)
SUGGESTED BET: GLENFERRIE HOOD (2) to win

RACE SEVEN

TOP TRIO (2) was never challenged in front last start and with no outside pressure got away with grand larceny. With a 64.7 opening half and only just breaking 31 for the 3rd panel all he had to do was sizzle home and that’s what he did. He can get to the pegs again and although he won’t get this his own way he can go back-to-back.

NONE BETTOR (9) held the front from the ace last start over the 2040m trip and after running some even panels couldn’t see it out when run down in the stretch. Fitter following 2 runs back from a break, he can look to get a cart into the contest and make a late challenge.

FIFTH EDITION (4) will take good benefit from his latest outing when returning from a freshen off a 2nd line gate. Hitting the line strongly he was only a head from the winner and with an improved gate can feature.

WATTLEBANNK FLYER (1) dropped to the pegs last start from the 2nd line and was finding the line in good order to be 5m from the winner FIOKI. With a cosy trip here and 1 spot closer he has claims.

SELECTIONS: TOP TRIO (2), NONE BETTOR (9), FIFTH EDITION (4), WATTLEBANNK FLYER (1)
SUGGESTED BET: TOP TRIO (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

NOVENA ROSE (9)
has now been in a quinella position her past 8 in succession with 3 of those victories. Last week she was attacking the line strongly to get within 3m of the winner NERIO. She will take good benefit from that after close to 8 weeks between runs and can swoop home to score.

BIG IM AMERICA (2) shoots for the hat-trick after wins at the AP 2138m and here over the 1780m. Finding the front from gate 2 here last start she was able to hold on to score by a head. With good early speed she can get to the pegs but with this a touch harder she will be gripping on.

ZED CODE (1) will get the cosy trip here and be ready to issue a challenge when the gaps appear. Her effort was strong last week when doing some early work and from the gate is a worthy trifecta hope.

STEVIE DEE (8) spent plenty of petrol last week to find the pegs after rolling forward from gate 5 and faded after the tough trip. She can get an easier run through in the earlier stages and chime in late.

SELECTIONS: NOVENA ROSE (9), BIG IM AMERICA (2), ZED CODE (1), STEVIE DEE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: NOVENA ROSE (9) to win

RACE NINE

MR KALYPSO (1)
has been untouchable since returning and resuming a disjointed career. Winning all 4 starts by an average of 11.5m he has never looked in danger as he marches through the grades in the most effortless fashion. From gate 1 with good early speed he looks set to have them chasing.

FRANCO TOTEM (10) has no favours from the gate and perhaps may have been able to issue a stronger challenge to the favourite from a better alley. In great form himself, he landed a mid-week win here when finishing over the top to make it 4 wins for the term. He looks best of the rest.

SOME EXCUSESOMEWHERE (6) lands a sticky gate but has been racing well of late and his past 2 from the 2nd line have been encouraging. A big winner 3 starts back he can be working home late.

GOODTIME STRIDE (7) looked to take them all the way here on Tues but was grabbed in the closing stages by FRANCO TOTEM to go under by a head. Wide off the track in the heat, the inside gate suits.

SELECTIONS: MR KALYPSO (1), FRANCO TOTEM (10), SOME EXCUSESOMEWHERE (6), GOODTIME STRIDE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: Standout trifecta 1 / 6-7-10

RACE TEN

OUR OVERANOVA (5)
was last seen one month back when starting in red figures and rolling forward to the breeze and proving too strong over the mobile 2138m. That followed placings from the tapes his previous 2 and with strong figures on the triangle and the mobile conditions looks hard to beat.

NEEDLE (3) will take great benefit from her latest start when resuming and forced to do plenty of work in the run. She had not been to the trials to prepare for her return and the run was full of merit when hanging tough in the breeze. This is her first look at Redcliffe but that looks no issue for her.

MIRACLE RISING (1) started fav here last week from the 2280m stand and worked hard in the run when finishing 2nd to MISTER GUNSEN. He looks in danger of being buried here but can rally late.

MELPARK ROYAL SON (2) will take great match fitness from his last start when having his 1st race in close to 12 months. With a good record from the mobile he will be right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: OUR OVERANOVA (5), NEEDLE (3), MIRACLE RISING (1), MELPARK ROYAL SON (2)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR OVERANOVA (5) to win
