RACE TWO

NORTHERN MUSCLE (9) was banished to the trials for an error and after 2 smart hit-outs has returned to the races in great style. He claimed the Graham Harriott Memorial at Marburg last start in a tough effort from the 30m tape. Back to 20m here and with toughness he can take this.

MY DAD ANGUS (4) stepped cleanly last start off the front tape and looked to take them all the way when claimed in the stretch by SPIRIT WALKER. Still looking to break the maiden tag, he is knocking on the door and with a safer start again here will be fighting hard.

MISS INVASION (6) was 2nd up from a break last start and after finding the pocket trail was hitting the line strongly to be 3m from the winner SPIRIT WALKER. She can be closing strongly again here.

REDRIVERDEBBA (10) was tough from the breeze here 2 starts back when 2nd to DAENERYS STORMBORN. Forget her latest offering when striking trouble at Marburg. She can bounce back.

SELECTIONS: NORTHERN MUSCLE (9), MY DAD ANGUS (4), MISS INVASION (6), REDRIVERDEBBA (10)
SUGGESTED BET: NORTHERN MUSCLE (9) to win

RACE THREE

HEZ RAZOR SHARP (2) had a look for the front from gate 4 here on Sat and did his share of early work when unable to get across. He hit the line strongly here 2 starts back from wide out and with good early speed can look to take his shot here and if crossing will take some catching.

PARISIAN ROCKSTAR (1) will find this an easier assignment than his past 2 outings and with the options from gate 1 can look for cover if pressured early. Forced to work hard in the breeze last start he faded late behind LILAC FLASH and wasn’t suited over the 2138m 2 starts back. He can go close.

MONIVAE (8) sat in the running line on Sat night and chased home to get within 6m of the winner HOT DOGMA. The form out of that race has been franked with EVERYTHING winning on Tues and following through early he is in the mix.

CIRCLE LINE (6) has no favours from this gate and might need to roll the sleeves up in the run here. Running into ALPHA STYX and LILAC FLASH at his past 2 he should find this easier.

SELECTIONS: HEZ RAZOR SHARP (2), PARISIAN ROCKSTAR (1), MONIVAE (8), CIRCLE LINE (6)
SUGGESTED BET: HEZ RAZOR SHARP (2) to win

RACE FOUR

CHRISTIAN TORADO (1)
was an all the way Penrith winner 5 starts back over the 1720m and ran home some smart closing sections. 2 of his 3 starts since arriving in Qld have been from the 2nd line and the other he was stuck looking for position from gate 3. Back to the ace he gets his chance.

TED WEST (7) can drive through and will stalk the leader and wait to take the snipers shot. Taken back from gate 5 at Redcliffe last start he was a long way back and wide when trying to make his run. He had been taking on qualifiers prior to that and with the cosy trip is a big danger.

MISTER JOGALONG (5) will take some benefit from his 1st run for the Jack Butler barn at Armidale last week. Forced to basically stop in the run after locking wheels, the effort was sound.

RUATO BAY (2) will take benefit from his run at Marburg when resuming from a break. Sitting back in the running line he worked home well on a track that wasn’t favouring those chasing.

SELECTIONS: CHRISTIAN TORADO (1), TED WEST (7), MISTER JOGALONG (5), RUATO BAY (2)
SUGGESTED BET: CHRISTIAN TORADO (1) to win

RACE FIVE

SKYFELLA CAM (7) was brave in defeat last week after rolling to the breeze from gate 6 and sitting outside the short-priced COREY WILLIAM. Digging in for the fight it was a brave run with the closing 800m in a slick 56.7 around the triangle and he beat the 3rd horse by 10m. The small field suits and with options at the start he can cash-in.

GREGS LEGACY (1) started from inside the 2nd Iine last start but was quickly away from the inside to avoid any pocket and he finished over the top. With good gate speed he can punch through and look to dictate here and will be gripping on.

MR MEDDLE (6) has the tough alley to overcome but is in good touch at present. A 2nd division qualifying winner 3 starts back he has been brave in successive Marburg stand starts. He can chime in here.

OHOKA SQUIRE (4) has placed at his past 3 in succession the latest when claiming the bronze behind the airborne MR KALYPSO in a Rising Stars Final. He can have an early look here and will fight hard.

SELECTIONS: SKYFELLA CAM (7), GREGS LEGACY (1), MR MEDDLE (6), OHOKA SQUIRE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: SKYFELLA CAM (7) to win

RACE SIX

IM TOOT (4)
had won 3 of his 1st 4 starts since joining the Dale Belford barn before working hard in the run at his most recent outing and fading off to 4th. That was a Marburg to Redcliffe Final where he claimed the Marburg heat in good style when sent to the breeze from the 2nd line. He can put the heat on here.

ITSMEGS (1) was crossed in the early stages from this same gate last start and probing for openings was 3m from the winner HARD TO HEAR. A winner 4 starts back from gate 6 when speared out to the front at AP and holding on for the win, she will be right in the mix here.

BEEF CITY BLAZE (3) was buried on the pegs last start and when angled into open space sprinted sharply to arrive for a nice win. That followed a 2m 2nd and with the closing shot can go close.

JACKS AT THE BEACH (10) looked to take them all the way in a qualifier last start and led deep into the stretch when claimed by SOHO SHANGHAI. He will need to work at some stage and can place.

SELECTIONS: IM TOOT (4), ITSMEGS (1), BEEF CITY BLAZE (3), JACKS AT THE BEACH (10)
SUGGESTED BET: IM TOOT (4) to win

RACE SEVEN

THE CHARGING MOA (7) was a tidy AP winner 3 starts back when leading all the way and then started in red figures from gate 1 at her next start when given no peace in front and fading late. She bounced back last start with a swooping finish and with a cosy trip and early options can take this.

ITS JUST KENNY (5) is doing a great job and has been runner-up at 3 of his past 4 and the other was a strong win. He chased gamely last start for the silver behind LILAC FLASH and was charging home the start prior to get within a head of ROCK WITH SAM. He will be closing out hard again here.

MIGHT AND MAIN (1) shoots for the hat-trick after successive Redcliffe and Armidale wins. Holding the front from gate 1 last start she ran a slick rate around the tight Armidale track. She will be looking to dictate again.

ALPHA STYX (3) was struggling to find form and was banished to the trials. After an electric trial win her returned as the fav here last start in a comfortable win. He might need to work here but has claims.

SELECTIONS: THE CHARGING MOA (7), ITS JUST KENNY (5), MIGHT AND MAIN (1), ALPHA STYX (3)
SUGGESTED BET: THE CHARGING MOA (7) to win

RACE EIGHT

IMA MORVEN LAD (3)
dropped to the pegs last start when they went single file and then when he made his challenge he sprinted sharply in a slick closing panel to be within 2m of the winner COMPLY OR DIE. He was a winner over this trip 2 starts back and with a gate advantage over his main dangers can prevail.

COMPLY OR DIE (9) led them up easily in the small field here last week and allowed to get away with grand larceny in front in a 66.4 opening half, only had to sprint the closing 300m which he duly did to score. The 2nd line dents his chances but he can get around them early and throw down the challenge.

OUR MELS DREAM (8) was working home strongly here 2 starts back and secured the bronze when 2.5m from the winner IMA MORVEN LAD. Forget his last start at Armidale, he can chime in here.

HOODED ANGEL (1) will be 2nd up in Qld and drops straight into the claiming ranks after a disappointing 1st run at Marburg as the fav. Closing in on 12 months since his last victory, he can be shaper here.

SELECTIONS: IMA MORVEN LAD (3), HOODED ANGEL (1), COMPLY OR DIE (9), OUR MELS DREAM (8)
SUGGESTED BET: IMA MORVEN LAD (3) to win
