RACE TWO

DOWNTOWN LUCCA (4) settled in the pocket trail here 3 starts back and in a slogging go to the wire held on for the silver behind RISKY BUZINESS. Locked away against the poles from inside the 2nd line here 2 starts back, he wasn’t far away at Marburg on Monday and this looks to be within reach.

DATSGOOD (3) struck trouble here 2 starts back from gate 1 and was well held in a much stronger Gold Pot heat behind CHERRYS THE BEST. Chasing home, the smart BILLY LINCOLN last start in a sharp rate, this looks to be a much more suitable target and from the gate can look to capitalise.

WHATA STRIDE (1) has just the lone win to her name, but has been able to finish as the runner-up at 2 of her past 3. Beaten a pimple here 2 starts back when leading them up, she won’t be far away.

AROONA (6) secured the perfect trip here last start behind the leader. Awaiting the passing lane, it couldn’t come soon enough and the winner was able to get a winning break. He can chime in late.

SELECTIONS: DOWNTOWN LUCCA (4), DATSGOOD (3), WHATA STRIDE (1), AROONA (6)
SUGGESTED BET: DOWNTOWN LUCCA (4) to win

RACE THREE

BLACKSADANCE (8) will take good benefit from his return to the track to start his 3YO term last time out. Starting a red figure fav from the seven-hole, he was hitting the line strongly to finish mid-field, yet only 2m from the winner. A winner 3 starts back, he will need some luck, but can still take this.

JEWEL OF PEAK (4) will take benefit from her latest outing when 2nd up from a freshen. Making the most of conditions to break the maiden tag 3 starts back, she returned to start the 3YO term with a tough 2nd from the breeze. Meeting a much stronger line-up last start, she will give this a shake.

FAVREAU (1) has the speed to find the pegs 1st from gate 3 prior to releasing for the trail last start and chased gamely to hold 4th at just his 2nd career start. With the added experience, he is in the mix.

NON PASSARE (7) doesn’t have any favours from the wide gate here, but boasts more winning experience than an of his opponents. A tidy winner from gate 6 last start, he can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: BLACKSADANCE (8), JEWEL OF PEAK (4), FAVREAU (1), NON PASSARE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: BLACKSADANCE (8) to win

RACE FOUR

JOANNIES GIRL (5)
makes her Qld debut for the Ben Battle stable that are racing in nice touch at present. A Bathurst winner 4 starts back when sprinting home strongly to sweep home to a 10m victory, gates have beaten her in the 3 starts since. This looks a nice race to start in the North.

MISS KEESHA (10) is afforded no favours from this alley but has been in the mix each time when taking on these mares only contests. Working home in good order from gate 6 last start to grab the bronze when only a neck in arrears of the winner, wit the right cart home she can challenge.

THANKHEAVNFORGIRLS (1) wasn’t suited last start when forced to race tough in the breeze and faded late to finish mid-field. With the good trip on offer, look for a sharper effort here.

MODERN THOUGHT (9) has won 2 of her past 5 starts, the latest when overcoming gate 7 to score here last time. Arriving in time to light up the tote board, with a similar trip she can chime in.

SELECTIONS: JOANNIES GIRL (5), MISS KEESHA (10), THANKHEAVNFORGIRLS (1), MODERN THOUGHT (9)
SUGGESTED BET: JOANNIES GIRL (5) to win

RACE FIVE

Despite some nagging concerns about running out a strong 2138m trip, GRIZZLY MONTANA (2) will get his chance to put those concerns to rest in this. Locked away against the poles last start over the middle-distance, he hit the line strongly and with his best gate for some time he gets his chance.

NICSTAR (6) eased back from gate 5 last start to settle well back in the filed over this trip. Working home in nice style in the closing stages to grab the bronze behind MONTANA CHIEF, it was a tidy effort and followed a nice 3rd behind RECIPE FOR DREAMING. The gate hurts, but he can charge late.

JUST ONE GOOD ONE (10) has won 3 of his 6 appearances here at The Creek, the latest coming last time out when leading throughout over the mile. The 2nd line makes it sticky, but he can’t be ignored.

COBALT BLUES (3) is another that may have a question ark or two next to his name over the middle distance. Despite that, he did find the line in good order last start and limiting the work can feature.

SELECTIONS: GRIZZLY MONTANA (2), NICSTAR (6), JUST ONE GOOD ONE (10), COBALT BLUES (3)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 2-3-6-10

RACE SIX

MONTANA CHIEF (7) lines up in search of the hat-trick after successive wins over this trip. Settling in the pocket trail last start, he capitalised on the soft trip and packed too many guns in the stretch to arrive with a head to spare. Charging home, the start prior, he can land the threepeat despite the 7.

WHOSTOLEMYPIGEON (6) took the trail from gate 1 last start when sent to the post as the fav and after the cosy trip, couldn’t reel in the winner in a sharp sub 27 closing panel. A winner 2 starts back from the trail in good style, it was reward for successive 2nd placed runs and he can go close again.

KARINYA MULLY (2) settled in the 1x1 trail last start but couldn’t go with them in the closing stages when the sprint went on. Settling close to the speed he can get into the contest against these.

VINTAGE DREAM (8) worked home in nice style from gate 9 here 2 starts back when grabbing the silver behind MAJESTIC KIWI. Luckless last start, she will be looking for open track to offer here.

SELECTIONS: MONTANA CHIEF (7), WHOSTOLEMYPIGEON (6), KARINYA MULLY (2), VINTAGE DREAM (8)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

FLYING WINGARD (4) is on the back-up from Marburg on Monday where he faced a tough gate but had all the answers to arrive for the prize. An all the way winner 3 starts back when spearing out from the four-hole to dictate, he can get to the front here and lighting the lamps will take catching.

JUST ROKIN (6) has the wide gate to negotiate, but she hasn’t been far away of late, the latest when from the pocket trail, she chased in vain behind ELMAUR JOY over her less preferred 2138m trip. Back to the mile and freshened since that last hit-out, she can chime into the action here.

MONUMENTAL (10) has been around the money in recent starts with a top-three in 8 of his past 10. From the middle of the line last start, he closed nicely behind RECIPE FOR DREAMING and has claims.

PITTSWORTH MAN (3) went to the pegs from gate 9 last start to look for the cheap runs and grabbed a First 4 result behind MONTANA CHIEF. Settling handy he can be thereabouts in this.

SELECTIONS: FLYING WINGARD (4), JUST ROKIN (6), MONUMENTAL (10), PITTSWORTH MAN (3)
SUGGESTED BET: FLYING WINGARD (4) to win

RACE EIGHT

BEE GEES BANDIT (3) should appreciate the return to Thursday class after campaigning on the Sat night circuit in recent weeks. After claiming a qualifying victory 6 starts back, he hasn’t been far away in the 5 starts since, with his run 2 back behind TENNYSON BROMAC a smart effort. This suits.

MAFUTA VAUTIN (5) was forced to race tough last start from gate 3 when facing the breeze and fading late as the even money fav behind LEXUS ON THE BEACH. His run 2 starts back was a tidy effort after making an error and with even luck, start 100 can be a memorable one.

ELMS CREEK (1) might find this a little tougher than recent starts, but has the offset of landing the ace gate. Working hard last start when circling from the 2nd line, he can make the most of the alley.

MAYWYNS BEST (8) worked home in good order last time out when mid-field behind the flying CRUZY DUDE. Within 4m of the winner 2 back, he will be probing the gaps off the cheap trip.

SELECTIONS: BEE GEES BANDIT (3), MAFUTA VAUTIN (5), ELMS CREEK (1), MAYWYNS BEST (8)
SUGGESTED BET: BEE GEES BANDIT (3) to win
