RACE TWO

LILAC FLASH (5) started from the 2nd line last start over the mile and driven patiently while the pressure was not that strong at the front. When called on, he sprinted sharply and flashed home to run his closing 800/400 splits in sub 55 and sub 27. With the right tempo he can back-to-back.

LENNY THE LEGEND (1) was snagged back from gate 7 in the same race taken out by LILAC FLASH and was too far back to issue a challenge yet his closing sectionals were still strong. On the short back-up he was tough in the breeze which isn’t his go and with gate 1 he will be in the money.

SKYFELLA CAM (2) resumes from a spell following a solid first racing preparation where he returned 4 wins in 17 starts. With good early speed he has options from the start and will take good benefit from what he achieves.

THATS HOW WEROLL (4) will strip fitter following his latest start when taking the pocket trail when resuming from a break. Fitter for the run the small field suits and he has place claims.

SELECTIONS: LILAC FLASH (5), LENNY THE LEGEND (1), SKYFELLA CAM (2), THATS HOW WEROLL (4)
SUGGESTED BET: LILAC FLASH (5) to win

RACE THREE

PACIFIC DRUMS (1) is beating on the door for a victory and has been runner-up at 3 of his past 4 starts. Pressing ahead to find the front from the 2nd line over the mile last start he was strong in the run behind the talented MR KALYPSO. Only grabbed late by SUBTLE DELIGHT 2 back, he can look to dictate.

SPRING CAMPAIGN (6) suffered his 1st defeat in Aus last start but he was game in the process when beaten a head by LILAC FLASH. He worked hard from the breeze and went down swinging after a hat-trick of victories since arriving. Likely to work from this gate he will be in the mix.

OUR MAJOR DAY (7) will strip fitter following his return to the track from a break where he has been able to place in both runs. His latest offering saw him closing out strongly behind LILAC FLASH and he will be swooping late again.

DAPPER (2) will get the opportunity to slide down to the pegs and take the cosy trip behind the likely leader. From that position has place claims.

SELECTIONS: PACIFIC DRUMS (1), SPRING CAMPAIGN (6), OUR MAJOR DAY (7), DAPPER (2)
SUGGESTED BET: PACIFIC DRUMS (1) to win

RACE FOUR

AT RANDOM (1)
has missed a cheque just once in his 5 start career and comes into this as the runner-up at his past 2 starts. Finding the 1x1 last start from gate 5 he held 2nd behind the fast-swooping THE MONEY BALL. From this gate with the options he can look to take his chance.

MAYWYN NO REGRETS (5) was building towards a win after 3 starts since returning from a break and delivered with a strong victory from gate 6 last start. Working forward to face the breeze she packed too many guns to score a stylish win. Meeting a similar line-up here she can throw down the challenge once more.

MUCH BETTOR (3) should be that here and will appreciate taking on his own age. Only beaten a head at Redcliffe at his 1st Aus appearance he wasn’t suited from gate 6 last start. He will be sharper in this.

THE MONEY BALL (7) Went back from gate 6 last start and with a steady tempo was impressive in sailing down the outside to victory. He will need some similar circumstances here but can’t be discounted.

SELECTIONS: AT RANDOM (1), MAYWYN NO REGRETS (5), MUCH BETTOR (3), THE MONEY BALL (7)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-5-7

RACE FIVE

MY MASTERCRAFTSMAN (5) is racing well without much going his way and finds a race where he can look to correct that. 2 starts back he landed gate 7 and worked home to be only 3.5m from the winner OUR CHITTYBANGBANG. Last start he went back from gate 6 and his closing sectionals were slick despite finishing 5th when chasing home ARGYLE BEACH. This looks ideal.

CORPORAL LUNA (1) wasn’t suited from gate 6 in a conditioned event 2 starts ack and was too far out of the ground. Last start from gate 2 over the 2138m trip when angled down to the pegs the pace was slick he found them a bit too slick. With the early options he will be right in this.

FIOKI (8) was buried away in the run last start and hit the line in good order to be within 9m of the winner SIR JULIAN. With a cosy trip from this gate he will be probing for the openings.

ANNIKA MAGIC (7) started from the gate 1 last start and after being crossed early was angled off the inside to take the 1x1. Fighting to the line the effort was sound. The gate hurts but his looks an easier assignment from what she has been meeting.

SELECTIONS: MY MASTERCRAFTSMAN (5), CORPORAL LUNA (1), FIOKI (8), ANNIKA MAGIC (7)
SUGGESTED BET: MY MASTERCRAFTSMAN (5) to win

RACE SIX

MAYWYNS COURAGE (1)
was building towards a victory and after finishing runner-up at 2 starts since returning from a break was able to make the most of his chances last time out. 2nd up he ran into the smart MR KALYPSO and last start went to the front and was a comfortable 7m winner. He looks to smart for them here.

ITSMEGS (5) speared out from gate 6 to find the pegs last start and once in control had them chasing all the way over the 2138m trip. That followed a tidy effort from gate 7 behind LUCKY UNLUCKY and with the right trip here can challenge.

PAY ME INTEREST (3) has worked herself into some form and last start packed too many guns when working home strongly to score. Runner-up to MAYWYNS COURAGE 2 starts back, she will be thereabouts again.

TRAVELNFAST (8) was buried 3 back along the pegs from inside the 2nd line at Redcliffe last start and was able to use the passing lane to grab 2nd. With a cosy trip she can find the podium again.

SELECTIONS: MAYWYNS COURAGE (1), ITSMEGS (5), PAY ME INTEREST (3), TRAVELNFAST (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MAYWYNS COURAGE (1) to win

RACE SEVEN

EVERYTHING (1) was making his Qld debut on Sat night when finding the front from gate 4 tried to control it in front as a red figure fav, but just couldn’t see it out. He will take good benefit from that run after being 1st up and taking control again can look to keep them chasing all the way.

MY ULTIMATE FELLA (3) started from gate 5 in the same race as EVERYTHING on Sat night and working across was forced to face the breeze. Digging in for the fight he was brave in finishing a 1.5m 3rd. That was a threepeat of 3rd placed finishes and he will be right in the fight once again.

KEY LARGO (8) will strip fitter from his latest start when trying to take them all the way over the mile. 1st up from a break his condition just faded the closing stages. With a soft trip here, he will be coiled and ready to strike.

SOLDIER OF FORTUNE (7) did some early work last start when holding 3rd behind the smart ONE OFF. While he has no favours from the gate, with a slice of luck can be steaming home in the closing stages.

SELECTIONS: EVERYTHING (1), MY ULTIMATE FELLA (3), KEY LARGO (8), SOLDIER OF FORTUNE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: EVERYTHING (1) to win
