RACE TWO

ROYAL TAZ (1) resumes from a spell and has been given a pipe-opener at the trials in a handy hit-out to prepare for the return. He struggled to find his best last campaign but finds the perfect gate in a very winnable race at his return and with the speed to lead them up gets every chance.

CAPTAIN CHARGE OVER (9) has been mixing his starts between here and Tamworth and has found himself back in the pack chasing on most occasions. His run 3 starts back when sent forward to the breeze was a tidy effort and if able to find closer position has some chance in this.

OUR CHAMPION (10) went back from gate 5 last start and tracked home soundly in a stronger race than this at AP behind BRONZE ECSTASY. With even luck in transit he can be thereabouts.

EULO FLYER (5) used the passing lane to grab the silver here 4 starts back and 2 starts later followed it up with a 2m 2nd at Marburg. Close to 18 months since his last victory he has place hopes.

SELECTIONS: ROYAL TAZ (1), CAPTAIN CHARGE OVER (9), OUR CHAMPION (10), EULO FLYER (5)
SUGGESTED BET: ROYAL TAZ (1) to win

RACE THREE

STEVIE DEE (6) was returning from a freshen and found a suitable target here last start over the 1780m and after forced to face the breeze still packed too many guns to score a strong win. She has no favours from this gate but with the added fitness can throw down the challenge.

IM NORMA JEAN (2) has faced the starter 3 times since returning from a break with her latest effort an improving run when 7m from the winner GLENFERRIE DUSTER. 2 starts back she took on a much stronger line-up and with good early speed can have an early look to enhance her claims.

ITS ALL GO (7) has the benefit of being the lone 2nd line runner to get away from the pegs if needed. Returning from a break last start he found the line in good order and has podium claims in this.

BIG IN AMERICA (3) has been meeting stronger races than this and has struggled to show her best in 8 starts since winning here over the 2040m trip. With the right cover she can be an improver.

SELECTIONS: STEVIE DEE (6), IM NORMA JEAN (2), ITS ALL GO (7), BIG IN AMERICA (3)
SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 2-3-6-7

RACE FOUR

JENUFLECTION (5)
will take further benefit from her latest start when 2nd-up off a 12 month break. Her return run was a good effort when finding the line to be 5m from the winner and then last start was too far back after snagging back from gate 6. Finding position is key in an open contest.

WILLSINTOWN (9) worked to the front from gate 5 here last start before releasing and then went within a nose of victory. He took them all the way 3 starts back and followed that with a silver when buried in the run and beaten 3m. From the tricky gate he is in the mix.

BEEF CITY BLAZE (7) will need some favours from this alley but if he does happen to spot some luck will be charging. Too far back in stronger races his past 2 starts, he just needs a rub of the green.

HOLDINGNO CURRENCY (1) has gone around at Tamworth his past 3 starts with 2 of those from 2nd line gates. 4 starts back he grabbed the silver from behind the leader and has claims from this alley.

SELECTIONS: JENUFLECTION (5), WILLSINTOWN (9), BEEF CITY BLAZE (7), HOLDINGNO CURRENCY (1)
SUGGESTED BET: JENUFLECTION (5) to win

RACE FIVE

SHILAH (2) makes his Qld debut for the Ricky Thurlow barn and has been showing enough in Vic to suggest that he is right in a  race like this. His last start at Melton when 9m from the handy KING SOLOMON was a good effort and with a good win 3 starts back can start a winner.

CAESARS ASTRUM (1) found the front from gate 2 here last week over the 2040m and was able to dictate in front. After a controlled opening 800m she was able to keep them chasing to score a good win. That followed a close up 3rd in a much stronger event and she will be gripping on here.

IFOUNDTHEBEACH (8) was a Tamworth winner 3 starts back from behind the leader after finding a split to get out and sprint to victory. His 2 runs since have had merit and he has claims here.

MINI MIRACLE (7) was attacking the line strongly in the losing stages last start to get within 2m of the winner FEEL THE REIGN. Grabbed late in front 2 starts back she will be coiled and ready to strike.

SELECTIONS: SHILAH (2), CAESARS ASTRUM (1), IFOUNDTHEBEACH (8), MINI MIRACLE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: SHILAH (2) to win

RACE SIX

IM TOOT (6)
led them up easily off gate 1 here last week and went toot toot running express to the finishing post scoring a 21m victory. That was his 1st start since Mar and without a trial should take plenty of benefit from the run. Despite the wide gate he is worth a ticket.

RITCHIE BEE (8) worked hard in the run here last start facing the breeze and dug in for the fight to get within 3m of the winner BIG BEAT and claim the bronze. That followed a late closing 3rd at Marburg and with the right trail through has claims.

HUNTER RED (5) was 2nd up in Qld last week from gate 2 and sent straight to the front was never in danger to score a 13m victory. The gate hurts but he can challenge.

BETTOR WATCH HIM (10) is another not suited by a tough gate but he is racing well enough to throw down a challenge. He found the line nicely last start and will be closing out hard here.

SELECTIONS: IM TOOT (6), RITCHIE BEE (8), HUNTER RED (5), BETTOR WATCH HIM (10)
SUGGESTED BET: IM TOOT (6) to win

RACE SEVEN

BIG BEAT (8) started from gate 4 as a red figure fav last start and was snagged back before hitting the line hard to arrive for the win. He steps up a shade in class here but with some up front tempo can look to be sailing home over the top once again.

PRECIOUS CULLEN (6) was lining up for a hat-trick of victories here 2 starts back when he beat himself in front by getting too keen. Last start from the 2nd line he was a long way back and with a slick closing 800m set from the front was always up against it. Set alight early he is right in this.

DARBY BRIGHTS (7) will need a slice of luck from this gate but with the cosy trip will be probing for the run and be ready to hit the gaps. Resuming from a break here , she has been top 2 at her past 7 in succession and just needs some luck.

RED LUCK (1) was buried in the run from gate 1 at AP last start over the mile in a sound effort. He can look to protect the inside early and with the cosy trip has place claims in this line-up.

SELECTIONS: BIG BEAT (8), PRECIOUS CULLEN (6), DARBY BRIGHTS (7), RED LUCK (1)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-6-7-8

RACE EIGHT

ANNAS BEST (2)
was runner-up in consecutive starts here over the 1780m trip and then met a stronger line-up when down the line behind OLIVER WINKLE. Her latest run was in a mares qualifier and back to this type of contest, can look to fire the 1st shot and dictating can hold on here.

SOPHIES PRIDE (4) will strip fitter from her latest start when 2nd up from a break and hitting the line strongly to grab the bronze when 5m from the winner BIG BEAT. Finding early position is key to her chances and if able to settle closer to the front will be issuing a closing challenge.

CAESAR COURT (1) took on a stronger line-up at Marburg 2 starts back and from gate 1 was in the trail and never got a shot at the winner FAT KENNYS DROP. With the right trip he can podium in this.

FARRAHFOWLER (10) has been freshened since her last appearance when dropping out with excuses for the performance. She trialled well to prepare for the return and she has podium claims here.

SELECTIONS: ANNAS BEST (2), SOPHIES PRIDE (4), CAESAR COURT (1), FARRAHFOWLER (10)
SUGGESTED BET: ANNAS BEST (2) to win

RACE NINE

SHADOW PASS (1)
did all the work in the run last week after circling to the breeze from gate 9 and fighting on gamely with the leader getting home in a slick 57.4 closing 800m. He scored a nice win over FRANCO TOTEM 4 starts back and with his best gate for some time looks to get every chance.

HOT DOGMA (3) held the front from gate 1 here last start and was able to take them all the way and keep SHADOW PASS in 2nd place. That followed a tidy effort at AP when using the passing lane to get within a neck of the winner SPEEDIE MCARDLE. He can settle hand here and ask the questions.

READILY (7) will enjoy the cosy trip here and if hitting the passing lane with momentum can look to take a shot. 3 of his past 5 have been from wider 2nd line gates and he looks better suited here.

GOD SAKE (6) makes his Qld debut for Ian Gurney and will be 1st up in over 12 months from his last Tasmanian appearance. A winner of 5 of his past 6 starts, he hasn’t set the world alight in 2 trials, but must be respected.

SELECTIONS: SHADOW PASS (1),HOT DOGMA (3), READILY (7), GOD SAKE (6),
SUGGESTED BET: SHADOW PASS (1) to win
