RACE TWO

MYRTLE BEACH (2) made a mess of the start last tine out at Marburg and looked to have lost all chance as it took her a while to get back into gait. Chasing hard she then copped the back-wash of a scrimmage when working into it, grabbing 3rd. Showing steady improvement, today just might be the day.

HEART OF CHANGE (12) has really put it all together her past few starts with 2 wins and a silver in her past 3 appearances. Trotting cleanly and always looking likely to pick them up when working home from the rear last start, it was a stylish 7m victory. The 30m hurts, but a repeat effort is on.

BOURBONONTHEROCKS (11) is another mare that has found her rhythm with wins at 2 of her past 4. From the 20m tape last start she finished strongly to score and will be thereabouts again here.

DAY TOURER (8) is a brilliant beginner that can fly off the mark and from the 10m will be forward quickly. Releasing the front last start, he was hampered by a tiring leader and can atone here.

SELECTIONS: MYRTLE BEACH (2), HEART OF CHANGE (12), BOURBONONTHEROCKS (11), DAY TOURER (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MYRTLE BEACH (2) 1x4 win/place

RACE THREE

BEYONSKI (9)
was sent forward from gate 6 over the 2138m trip last time out and was forced to race tough in the breeze. Fighting gamely, she only faded in the closing stages with that run following a luckless effort from the pegs. Back to the mile is in her favour and in an open-contest, she can arrive.

ENARMOURED (1) is on the back-up from Friday where she returned a tidy effort in a similar type race when starting from outside the front line. 2 starts back she was locked on the pegs from inside the 2nd line and with the early speed to look to take advantage here, can run a cheeky race.

PEGGY STARDUST (3) took the trail last time out over the mile after there was plenty of early speed from wider on the track. Carted back through the field when the leader hoisted the white flag, with better luck she is in the mix.

OUR RIDGY DIDGE (4) broke his maiden status in 2YO company last start when charging home after his chances looked to be shot when breaking at the 400m. With winning confidence, he can place.

SELECTIONS: BEYONSKI (9), ENARMOURED (1), PEGGY STARDUST (3), OUR RIDGY DIDGE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: BEYONSKI (9) to win

RACE FOUR

Undefeated in 2 career starts, THE HUMMER (8) faces another rise here but with a cosy trip on offer can be ready to issue a closing challenge. After winning on debut as a 2YO, his latest start was a solid performance when proving too strong in the breeze from gate 7. Just needs for the threepeat.

MONTANA EXPRESS (10) still hasn’t sorted his starting manners but he has shown that once out and rolling the ability is there. Easing across the field from gate 7 over the 2138m last start, he was attacking the line strongly in some smart closing panels. Strong at Redcliffe 3 back, he is right in this.

BLUE SHARD (5) faces a step up but was a tidy winner at his 2nd career start when using the passing lane to arrive for the prize last time out. Finding position cheaply and limiting the burn will be key.

THE MONEY BALL (2) found the pocket trail from gate 2 last start and chased gamely when mid-field behind MISS BLUE GLORY. He has met some handy performers of late and can’t be dismissed in this.

SELECTIONS: THE HUMMER (8), MONTANA EXPRESS (10), BLUE SHARD (5), THE MONEY BALL (2)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

SUPREME BANNER (2) rolled forward to the breeze here 2 starts back over the mile after coming off the pegs early and was in for the fight when finishing 2m in arrears to hold on for 3rd. He didn’t really work into it last start over the 2138m and if able to pounce on the pegs, he is worth a chance.

WECANONLYHOPE (9) found the pegs from gate 5 here 2 starts back and with the cheap run was hitting the line strongly to grab the silver. That followed placings at her previous 2 starts at Redcliffe and with the right cart into the contest here, can go close to breaking her AP hoodoo.

ASHLEE NITRO (3) found the right conditions last start to break her maiden status after finding the front from gate 5 to lead throughout. Using the early speed advantage here, she won’t be far away.

A ROCKNROLL LEGACY (4) has placed at his past 2 starts as he shows good improvement into his prep after 5 runs back from a spell. He was in for the fight last start from the breeze and has claims.

SELECTIONS: SUPREME BANNER (2), WECANONLYHOPE (9), ASHLEE NITRO (3), A ROCKNROLL LEGACY (4)
SUGGESTED BET: SUPREME BANNER (2) to win

RACE SIX

This shapes as a great contest with some in-form performers coming together with JUSTA DALE (1) landing the gate to capitalise. 4 starts back he looked to lead all the way and was grabbed on the line by GUNRNEEDABIGRBOAT. A tough 3rd at his next start and beaten by gates his past 2, he gets his chance to bounce back here.

THE DOORMAN (4) was looking to remain undefeated in Qld here last start and after being sent to the post as a $1.10 fav fell 4m short of victory to take the silver. It was a tough run facing the breeze over the 2138m and returning to the mile where his previous 3 wins came from, he is a huge threat.

GOTTA MOMENT (5) was driven quietly last start from gate 9 and sitting back in the pack made his closing shot a winning one when swooping home strongly to score. If the tempo is too hot, look for him launching late.

SELECTIONS: JUSTA DALE (1), THE DOORMAN (4), GOTTA MOMENT (5)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-4-5-6

RACE SEVEN

After warming up to a winning performance with some eye-catching runs, SIR JULIAN (10) capitalised here on Thurs when finishing hard down the outside to arrive for a smart win at the mile. The rise to the 2138m should prove no problem and with the right trip can finish hard once again.

LIVING AGAIN (9) was sent to the front from gate 5 over the mile 2 starts back and was fighting hard to the wire when grabbed in the last stride to go under by a nose. Leading the 3-wide line from the 700m last start, he was game and only faded the closing stages when 7m in arrears and is in the mix.

FAT PROPHET (7) has no favours from the wide gate yet his 2 starts this Northern campaign have both had merit. Luckless last start when locked away behind a tiring runner, he can chime in here.

PROFICIEINT (1) will be hustling hard to protect the pegs and if able to take control will certainly give a sight in front. Working hard in the breeze last start, he faded late but can bounce back in this.

SELECTIONS: SIR JULIAN (10), LIVING AGAIN (9), FAT PROPHET (7), PROFICIEINT (1)
SUGGESTED BET: SIR JULIAN (10) to win

RACE EIGHT

TOMMY UNDER FIRE (8) has been in nice touch, securing 3 wins in his past 4 starts, the latest coming when swooping home over the top to claim a qualifying win in good style. From gate 12 the start prior he was hitting the line strongly and with a cosy trip can make the closing shot a winner.

TIN ROOF RAIDER (1) should appreciate the good gate in this contest having been forced to overcome tough draws his past 3. A winner at his Qld debut when leading all the way from gate 4 over the mile, he has been runner-up the past 2 from 2nd line gates. He will look to deal in front.

CARDLESFROMHEAVEN (7) has been runner-up at his past 2 starts, the latest when it took a gallant TENNYSON BROMAC to run him down. Gate 7 makes it tough, but he will be attacking the line late.

CHARMING MAJOR (9) made the most of an easier assignment when scoring easily at Marburg last time out after proving too classy. Only 4m from GUNNRNEEDABIGRBOAT 2 back, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: TOMMY UNDER FIRE (8), TIN ROOF RAIDER (1), CARDLESFROMHEAVEN (7), CHARMING MAJOR (9)
SUGGESTED BET: TOMMY UNDER FIRE (8) to win
