RACE TWO

WHATA STRIDE (1) is the winner of just one race in her career, but she looks to strike the right conditions to add to that tally. Leading them up last start, she pinched a breather through the 2nd panel, but breaking 30 in each of the other 3 was just too tough. Controlling, she will be gripping on.

DALLAS COWGIRL (8) was angled to the pegs from gate 3 last start at Redcliffe and looking for the short-cuts was hitting the line nicely to be 4m in arrears. The 2nd line will make it tough here, but if able to get a nice run through early, she can be thereabouts.

DATSGOOD (3) was 1st up following a stable switch last start when sent to the front over the AP mile from gate 3. Setting the speed, she was gunned down late. A smart winner at Redcliffe 2 starts back after making an error, the tight track could be a query.

GIVE ME FIFTY (6) used inside runs to grab the bronze 3 starts back and has followed that with some down the line efforts from tough gates. With the soft trip he will be probing for gaps in this.

SELECTIONS: WHATA STRIDE (1), DALLAS COWGIRL (8), DATSGOOD (3), GIVE ME FIFTY (6)
SUGGESTED BET: WHATA STRIDE (1) to win

RACE THREE

LIGHTHORSE (1) last tasted victory back in October of 2018 when sent straight to the front here over this trip and was never in danger in scoring a 7m victory. That remains his only Qld victory, but with the ace gate here and the speed to take control, he looks to get every chance to make it number 2.

ITS YOU NOT ME (3) made full use of securing the pocket trail last start and chased home for the silver behind BUNDJALUNG BEAUTY. That followed a similar trip when 7m away after securing the trail over the Redcliffe 1780m trip. This is the right type of race that he can feature in.

NIGHT NINJA (6) resumes from a spell and should appreciate the cosy trip 1st up. Not suited when stuck working last start, he will be looking for the space here to fill the minors.

FLASHING GOOD TIME (7) has faced 2nd line gates at her past 2 starts and been working home wide off the track in each. An early move to get around them might be the play here and she is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: LIGHTHORSE (1), ITS YOU NOT ME (3), NIGHT NINJA (6), FLASHING GOOD TIME (7)
SUGGESTED BET: LIGHTHORSE (1) to win

RACE FOUR

With a combined total of 154 winless starts amongst them, this maiden looks a tricky contest to assess. Despite the 2nd line gate SURFER JOE (7) might just have enough of an edge to claim this. Forced to face the breeze last start, he fought hard. Is today the day?

LOMBO SKY HAWK (9) will be further tightened from his latest start when 2nd up after almost 3 years off the scene. Not suited when sent to the breeze early, he faded out. The 2nd line hurts but he can look for a cart home to feature.

PERFECT FEELING (1) can look to capitalise on the ace gate and should appreciate the improved alley after some tough alleys in recent outings. Wide off the track last start, the inside gives him a chance.

FOREST MAJOR (6) will be glued to the back of the 1 in the early stages and look to make the most of the easy trip. 1st up following stable switch, he can be an exotic hope.

SELECTIONS: SURFER JOE (7), LOMBO SKY HAWK (9), PERFECT FEELING (1), FOREST MAJOR (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

With the map quite often beating class here at Marburg, CHARMING MAJOR (7) can prove class is dominant in this contest from the tough gate. Only 4m from the airborne GUNRNEEDABIGRBOAT last start off a freshen following a 4m margin to GOTTA GOOD REASON, he can put them away here.

ZENMACH (3) will be looking to fly the flag for the map supporters and will look to get across them early to take control. Only fading when the sprint went on over the 2138m 2 starts back after doing the work in the breeze, he wasn’t suited last start when buried in the run. He will be gripping on.

JAX NAVARO (8) is 2 from 3 here and should find this a shade or two easier than recent outings in claiming company. Hitting the line nicely for the silver behind CROWNING GLORY 2 starts back, he can work into the contest here.

RUATO BAY (9) was angled to the pegs last start looking for the short-cuts and chased home well to fill the First-4 behind SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT. Without much luck from barriers recently, he will be working hard late.

SELECTIONS: CHARMING MAJOR (7), ZENMACH (3), JAX NAVARO (8), RUATO BAY (9)
SUGGESTED BET: CHARMING MAJOR (7) to win

RACE SIX

UNDERTHEKILT (2) showed some early speed last start to get across from gate 4, prior to receiving some cover. Hitting the line nicely, he was within 6m of the winner in a strong closing 800m over the 2138m trip. Luckless 2 starts back, he can show his early speed here and back to the sprint trip suits.

TAKITIMU EXPRESS (8) didn’t fire last start over the Redcliffe 2040m trip in a race much stronger than he will tackle here. Following 2 runs back from a spell, he should be further tightened and in a race flush with speed off the front line, he can sit back and make one closing challenge.

KAANAPALI (1) was buried away in the run last start and never saw space to have a crack until the race was gone. An early burn took its toll 2 starts back and if limiting it here, has claims.

RITCHIE BEE (3) eased back from gate 5 at Redcliffe 2 starts back and was sound to the line to grab the bronze. Only 4m away last start, he can settle forward from this gate and won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: UNDERTHEKILT (2), TAKITIMU EXPRESS (8), KAANAPALI (1), RITCHIE BEE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: UNDERTHEKILT (2) to win

RACE SEVEN

After featuring in a stable switch, NICSTAR (3) will line-up for Jack Butler for the 1st time and finds a winnable race. Settling in the trail from inside the 2nd line last start over the Redcliffe sprint trip, he didn’t have the zip up the passing lane. From this gate he can roll forward and grind out the win.

REDDY FIRE (2) has a sharp record here at Marburg with a top 3 in 8 of 10 appearances, 3 of those being victories. Not suited in recent starts, the latest when wide and trying to make closing ground, he lands the gate to capitalise here and sent to the front can be looking to fight them off.

ARBIT MAJOR (5) retreated from a wide gate last start and was sound to the line when within 9m of the winner after settling a long way back. Only 2m away the start prior, he can chime in late.

LOTS MORE GRINS (7) returns from a freshen and will line up as a 13YO for the 1st time. Not suited from gate 9 here last time, he can look to press through early to settle handy and is a podium hope.

SELECTIONS: NICSTAR (3), REDDY FIRE (2), ARBIT MAJOR (5), LOTS MORE GRINS (7)
SUGGESTED BET: NICSTAR (3) to win

RACE EIGHT

RANFURLY RULZ (2) took on the AP mile last start and was soon buried away from gate 1. Finishing mid-field, it was a tidy effort after never really finding open track for a serious shot. This will be his 1st appearance at Marburg and if hustled early to hold a position, this is the right type of target.

MY SERET TORQUE (4) was strong to the line in the closing stages 2 starts back when only 4m from the winner LURAH. Freshened since her last outing here when things didn’t really go to plan from a 2nd line gate, she can have an early look and with 3 wins here at the track, she can challenge.

TOPNOTCH MACH (8) started from inside the 2nd line last time out and was soon locked away 4 back against the poles. Looking to weave a passage, he was strong to the line and can be chiming in here.

ITSADANCEOFF (6) will need plenty of luck from this gate and will be probing for gaps. Not far from THE ANNOUNCER in a qualifier last start, if the gaps arrive, he can be in the numbers.

SELECTIONS: RANFURLY RULZ (2), MY SERET TORQUE (4), TOPNOTCH MACH (8), ITSADANCEOFF (6)
SUGGESTED BET:
