RACE TWO

TOANUI SPIRIT (2) was sent to the breeze last start and was forced to roll the sleeves when doing the tough stuff. Fading in the closing stages behind BRONSKI MACARENA, it had followed her 1st run following a stable switch when runner-up to LUXURY LAD. From the improved gate, she can dictate.

GRETELS GIRL (1) has faced the starter on just 2 occasions, finishing mid-field behind the undefeated LUXURY LAD on both occasions. Finding the pocket trail from gate 3 last start, she was chasing, which had followed an error on debut. With the chance for a cosy trip, she can place.

CHILI ROCKS (7) was sent to the post as fav when on debut here last week. Still with some race-craft to learn, she was a little wayward yet still within 3m of the winner. She can be probing for gaps here.

CAM YOU FEEL IT (8) has shown steady improvement each outing as he builds towards full fitness. Grabbing the bronze last start behind RITCHIE BEE, he has podium claims in this line-up.

SELECTIONS: TOANUI SPIRIT (2), GRETELS GIRL (1), CHILI ROCKS (7), CAM YOU FEEL IT (8)
SUGGESTED BET: TOANUI SPIRIT (2) to win

RACE THREE

SOMEHOWSOMEWAY (6) can’t buy a barrier and lands another wide gate. Tough in the breeze from outside the front line at Marburg 2 starts back, he was taken back from gate 6 over the AP 2138m last start and was hitting the line nicely. Limiting the burn, he is worth a ticket in a tricky contest.

OCEANSIDE (4) tackles the Redcliffe 2040m trip for the 1st time as he looks to build off his last start 2nd. Settling in the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line, he chased nicely to grab the silver behind FOUR FOR FOUR. Starting to put it together, he can look to make a challenge.

WECANONLYHOPE (3) started fav last time out from gate 1 over this trip when fading out after doing it reasonably comfortably in front. The distance is the concern and place look best.

DANCING IN MANOLOS (1) led them up over the sprint trip last start from this gate but couldn’t see it out after a strong opening 800m. The rise to the 2040m is a query, but the gate is in her favour.

SELECTIONS: SOMEHOWSOMEWAY (6), OCEANSIDE (4), WECANONLYHOPE (3), DANCING IN MANOLOS (1)
SUGGESTED BET: SOMEHOWSOMEWAY (6) to win

RACE FOUR

MISTER FAHRENHEIT (2)
made the most of returning to the triangle when going straight to the front over this trip last start and keeping an even tempo, cruised home to score a comfortable victory. This is a step up from his last start victory, but with the gate to take full advantage can fight them off.

IMA REGAL JET (7) struck trouble last start and was always facing a task in the back-wash of the incident. Runner-up his previous 2 starts, including a close-up head margin when GHOST GUM found a gap to dart through and claim the Goldstrike Final at Marburg. He will need luck but can feature.

MISTER DECORUM (3) settled in the running line from the 2nd line over the 2040m trip last start when making good in-roads to the margin when 4m in arrears. From the gate he will be in the fight.

MAKINMEFEELGOOD (1) will take good benefit from his latest start when returning from a spell. Finding the pocket trail from gate 5, he chased hard to grab 3rd. He can chime in from the good gate.

SELECTIONS: MISTER FAHRENHEIT (2), IMA REGAL JET (7), MISTER DECORUM (3), MAKINMEFEELGOOD (1)
SUGGESTED BET: MISTER FAHRENHEIT (2) to win

RACE FIVE

ELIZABETHAN ERA (4) has been to the track 3 times since arriving in Qld and although beaten sizeable margins on each occasion, there has been some merit in the performances. Forced to do it tough last start in a race claimed by the handy STREET APPEAL, the return to mares only company looks positive and she can be sharper here.

LETHAL STAR (6) was looking for a hat-trick of victories when taking on the one lap Trot Rods scamper 2 starts back. With all the power up front in that event, she was never really in the mix when easing from a wide gate. Buried in the run in a mares qualifier last start, this looks suitable, even from the wide gate.

FOREVER ROCKING (7) wasn’t suited last start when compelled to roll forward to sit outside the leader over the 2138m. Fading late as a result, it had followed a tidy 2nd. She just needs some space.

PRETTYCOMPACT (3) has raced herself into some form and comes into this a last start winner and a with victory at 2 of her past 4. In mares only company is an added plus and she is a podium hope.

SELECTIONS: ELIZABETHAN ERA (4), LETHAL STAR (6), FOREVER ROCKING (7), PRETTYCOMPACT (3)
SUGGESTED BET: ELIZABETHAN ERA (4) to win

RACE SIX

A RAINBOW DIAMOND (3) found the space to drop into the pocket trail from gate 2 last start when the spot was presented by a galloping runner. Angled to the passing lane, she couldn’t pick them up when 3rd behind the swooping SUKI DAYO. Grabbed after leading them up the start prior, this looks within reach.

ALLSTAR SEA (7) makes his Qld debut after transferring to the Ben Battle barn, arriving after last start mid-field finish at Menangle. With 8 wins and 18 minors in his career, he has been facing some wide gates in recent outings and with the cosy trip on offer here, just needs some space to challenge.

BOMBADIER JUJON (1) resumes from a spell following 4 starts in his career recorded last prep. Finding the line in good style at his last outing when 2nd to BLACKSADANCE, he has trialled nicely and from the gate is right in the thick of proceedings 1st up.

BIG IN AMERICA (2) is winless for a while now, however finds the right type of race to be in the mix. Runner-up here 2 starts back when 4m in arrears, she can look to fire the 1st shot here.

SELECTIONS: A RAINBOW DIAMOND (3), ALLSTAR SEA (7), BOMBADIER JUJON (1), BIG IN AMERICA (2)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-3-7

RACE SEVEN

BURMACH (1) was only 8m away in a qualifier last start after easing back from gate 5 and then making a wide and searching run over the AP mile. Pouncing on the pegs here 2 starts back over this trip, he was able to dictate in a slow opening half prior to dialling it up for an easy win. From the gate, he can make them chase.

AMAYA BECOMES (7) will be looking to make it 3 on the bounce after successive wins here, both over the 2040m trip. Finishing over the top of them last start from the 2nd line after an even tempo was set in front, she will be dressed and ready to dance when the passing lane presents.

SAINT KILDA BEACH (4) returns from a freshen and has been meeting stronger mares races in recent starts. Runner-up 3 starts back; she is a 3-time winner here on the triangle and stays under notice fresh.

TRUNKEY DIGGER (5) has been in the money at 12 of 15 attempts on this surface and last start ended a streak that had seen her finish runner-up in 5 successive starts. Despite a tricky gate, she has claims.

SELECTIONS: BURMACH (1), AMAYA BECOMES (7), SAINT KILDA BEACH (4), TRUNKEY DIGGER (5)
SUGGESTED BET: BURMACH (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

ARBIT MAJOR (1) has been in the zone since arriving with Donny Smith and lines up here looking to make it 4 wins in his past 6 starts. Starting a short-priced elect last time, he packed too many guns in cruising home despite starting form gate 6 to score a comfortable victory. This will be tougher but he lands the gate advantage to counter that.

BLUE MOON RISING (7) was much sharper last time out when 2nd up since arriving in Qld and following a gap of 4 weeks between runs. Buried in the run from gate 1, he was charging home to get within a head of the winner. With another easy run in transit, he will be in the snipers seat.

MACHIN OUT (2) rolled the sleeves to face the breeze from gate 3 last start over the sprint trip and threw down one last lunge when beaten a lip. From the good gate he will be right in the fight.

HAVANA MOON (4) eased back from gate 5 here 3 starts back and finished with a well-timed run to claim a half-neck victory. Only a neck short of the prize last start, he will be making a late play here.

SELECTIONS: ARBIT MAJOR (1), BLUE MOON RISING (7), MACHIN OUT (2), HAVANA MOON (4)
SUGGESTED BET: ARBIT MAJOR (1) to win

RACE NINE

STOMPEM (8) will be close to full fitness now that he has been to the track on 4 occasions since resuming from a spell. Settling in a rearward position last start from the 2nd line, he hit the line in nice order behind the in-form SUBTLE DELIGHT. With versatility to call on, he finds the right conditions to arrive.

SIR JULIAN (5) is a consistent performer that is never far from the action and was hitting the line nicely last start when 8m from the dictating winner, MIDNIGHT MAN which followed a tough 3rd behind SABRAGE. A 4-time winner here on the triangle, despite a wide gate won’t be too far away.

SO KOOL MASTER (7) will take his 1st look at the track and will be needing a slice of luck on his side from inside the 2nd line. Chasing home when 8m in arrears of ANYCHANCE last start, look for him taking inside runs.

OYSTER STRIDE (2) found the line in good style last start in a qualifier when eased back early from gate 5 prior to looking for the short-cuts home. With good speed he can fire an early shot in this.

SELECTIONS: STOMPEM (8), SIR JULIAN (5), SO KOOL MASTER (7), OYSTER STRIDE (2)
SUGGESTED BET: STOMPEM (8) to win
