RACE TWO

Easing off the fence from inside the second line last start, TURN IT UP (9) was able to weave a passage too the wire and claim the prize. Following through on the back of the speedster DEUS EX at the start here, he can land near the speed and be ready to make the closing shot a winning one.

NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (5) was big in victory at his first run for the new barn, running a slick mile when sent forward and pressing on to the lead. Just 2m away last start after settling in the 1x1 trail and trying to launch a closing raid as TURN IT UP arrived, he will be ready to challenge again.

DEUS EX (2) carved across from gate 7 to lead last week over the 2138m and was gripping on in the stretch, only SPEECH IS SILVER able to get past. From the gate, he will be trying to repel them.

SPEECH IS SILVER (8) found the pocket trail here last week at the middle trip and had the closing speed to knock off DEUS EX. Slick closing panels from gate 7 the start prior, he will be probing.

SELECTIONS: TURN IT UP (9), NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (5), DEUS EX (2), SPEECH IS SILVER (8)
SUGGESTED BET: TURN IT UP (9) to win

RACE THREE

This race looks a messy map in the early stages as a few of these in tight are not overly speedy off the arm nor boast great credentials at the trip. AMILLION PROMIES (9) ran home some slick panels last week from the trail and although his 2138m numbers aren’t great, might just get the trip to suit.

FALCONS (6) has been catching the eye and was attacking the line last week as the only runner on the night to break 55 for their own individual last 800m split. Grabbing 2nd to JUDDY DOUGLAS in that, he was never in the mix from this same gate the start prior when retreating. Position is key.

GOOD AS IT GETS (10) must negotiate the tricky gate, but his form has been solid since joining the Dawson yard, including successive wins at his past two outings. With the right trip, he is right in this.

MISTERY ROAD (3) was a winner in midweek company over this trip three starts back when asked to sit parked and proving too gritty to claim the prize. Getting forward cheaply can see him feature.

SELECTIONS: AMILLION PROMIES (9), FALCONS (6), GOOD AS IT GETS (10), MISTERY ROAD (3)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

It will be a welcome drop back to this grade for IT AINT THE MONEY (8) who was a more than credible 4th last week in open company. Sticking to the poles form inside the second line, he was under 7m from the winner SPEECH IS SILVER. With the soft trip, he will be stalking ready to strike.

SMOOTH SAILOR (6) will appreciate a return to veteran’s company after being pitch-forked into the FFA last week. Faced with gate 6, he was still sectionally strong despite trailing the field home. Not suited when parked the start prior, positioning cheaply can see him throw down the challenge.

MOHS EM DOWN (1) will be much better suited with the opportunity to set the tempo after facing second line gates at his past three in succession. A tidy 3rd to LOMBO HEAVEN two back, he will be gripping on.

MAJORDOIT (3) claimed a Marburg victory two starts back and followed that with a tough run when sitting parked before wilting behind the gun WATTS UP SUNSHINE. This looks more suitable.

SELECTIONS: IT AINT THE MONEY (8), SMOOTH SAILOR (6), MOHS EM DOWN (1), MAJORDOIT (3)
SUGGESTED BET: IT AINT THE MONEY (8) to win

RACE FIVE

Stepping out on his fifth track from his past six attempts, APHORISM (2) returns to Qld for another campaign for Chris Frisby. Just 3m from ROCKIN MARTY after starting from the outside paint at Wagga last start, his Bathurst win three back was a smart effort. From gate 2, he can dictate.

LE TISSIER (3) was making good metres it eh closing stages last start at Redcliffe when wide off the track to grab the silver behind CAPTAINS PICK in good time. Not far from the winner the start prior, a return to the big deck over this trip looks ideal for him to throw down the challenge.

COMMODORE JUJON (1) always returns an honest performance and last week was brave to get within a half-neck of the winner after doing all the heavy lifting. The gate keeps him right in the mix.

BITCOIN (7) was a big winner last week when making a mid-race attack to take the front and then fighting hard in the closing stages to take the prize. The gate dents his chances to go back-to-back.

SELECTIONS: APHORISM (2), LE TISSIER (3), COMMODORE JUJON (1), BITCOIN (7)
SUGGESTED BET: APHORISM (2) to win

RACE SIX

Knocking on the door to win one of these mare’s races, BETTOR ROMANCE (9) might just have found the chance to cash in. Eased to the poles last week, she was strong to the line for the bronze behind THE DARLING, which followed a 3rd when looking to take them all the way. Pressing though, this looks within reach.

NINA SIMONE (2) struck first up at Redcliffe three starts back for the new stable before finishing down the line in a mare’s qualifier at her next attempt. Runner-up last start over the 2138m, she can be first to the pegs which will then present the options to challenge.

BLAZE COOPS (7) speared to the front from gate 6 last start and after a steady opening half, was unable to fight them off in the stretch. She can lead again here and will be gripping on.

BETTOR MEMORIES (1) was shooting for the hat-trick of victories last start when stung by the outside second line gate. Both previous wins came from the pegs and she can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: BETTOR ROMANCE (9), NINA SIMONE (2), BLAZE COOPS (7), BETTOR MEMORIES (1)
SUGGESTED BET: BETTOR ROMANCE (9) to win

RACE EIGHT

With this race a mid-week condition event, a newcomer to Qld in the shape of LOUIE THE PUNTER (4) looks well positioned to strike fresh. Last seen in Auckland in late February, the 4YO arrives with three wins, the latest of those three runs back over 2200m at Cambridge. This looks an achievable first-up assignment.

GLENLEDI COMMANDER (1) started off the 20m last time out in the Goldstrike Final at Marburg where he was wide over the latter stages. Hitting the board in seven successive starts prior to that final which included a pair of victories, he has the gate to make a challenge.

SMOOTH CASH (3) was midfield last start from gate 6 when tackling a string qualifier dominated on the peg line that was claimed by BIG WHEELS. Firing some early bullets, he can feature.

WHICH HUNT (9) was strong to the line in the closing stages two starts back for the bronze in a mare’ event before finishing midfield last start to MISTER DIAMOND. She has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: LOUIE THE PUNTER (4), GLENLEDI COMMANDER (1), SMOOTH CASH (3), WHICH HUNT (9)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE NINE

Arriving in Qld with successive Menangle victories from the mobile start, WATTS UP MAJESTIC (9) owned his opponents in the Trotters Marathon last start with an arrogant win. That was from the tapes and with a return to the mobile for this contest, he looks mighty hard to stop.

VAN SANK (4) was fresh here last week when finding the running line from the 10m tape before finishing over the top of them to claim an easy 5m victory. That made it successive victories after his win from the front two starts back. The mobile conditions suit and he look best of the rest.

TAM OSHANTER (1) went on a heater to claim six successive victories before being given a let up. Making errors that have ended his chances in both runs since resuming, the gate gives him the opportunity to right the ship.

JUSTABITNOISY (8) rarely runs a bad race and from this alley will be tucked away and asked to find some gaps in the closing stages. In the money at four of his past five, the only miss came when not on the pegs in the run.

SELECTIONS: WATTS UP MAJESTIC (9), VAN SANK (4), TAM OSHANTER (1), JUSTABITNOISY (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Flexi trifecta 9 / 1-4-8 / 1-4-8

RACE TEN

As the lone second line runner, TALENT TO SPARE (8) will secure the options and be able to avoid any early speed battle. Fitter following one run back from a spell where she pressed on from gate 6 to claim a mare’s event, the only concern is all her winning form is when leading, a position she does not map to achieve here.

KASHED UP (7) faces a tough ask first up from the outside paint but has opened the pipes at the trials in nice order for the return. A last start Menangle winner over the mile at G2 level, he was just 5m from BAR ROOM BANTA two starts back. He looms large.

ADAM CROCKER (6) is slippery off the arm and despite the wide gate can be looking to apply some early heat. Setting the speed last start over the 2138m when only fading late, he is right in the fight.

GOODBOY COWBOY (2) has been running some nice races without getting any real reward for hi efforts. Attacking the line strongly again last start behind PARAVANI after retreating from gate 7, he can be closer to the action here.

SELECTIONS: TALENT TO SPARE (8), KASHED UP (7), ADAM CROCKER (6), GOODBOY COWBOY (2)
SUGGESTED BET: TALENT TO SPARE (8) to win
