Form Analysis: Marburg Aug 03

RACE TWO

The first of four heats for the 2022 Goldstrike where none of the ten runners have tasted success from the tapes. SO AM I (9) will be having his first race start from the strands but has trialled in nice order in readiness for this series. Fading last start over the mobile mile, this looks well within reach.

IMA BIRUBI BOY (6) contested this series last year where he was able to progress to the final after a 3^rd in the heats. They are his only two attempts from a stand where he was safe but not brilliant in stepping. Wide gates have dented his chances in his past couple, but he gets a chance to challenge.

MOONLIGHT BUTCHER (3) has hit some nice form this season with 2 wins and 2 minors in 4 attempts. Finishing over the top of them to score here last start, he can make a play.

GOSLING IN FIGHT (7) will be needing a rub of the green in the early stages to avoid any traffic issues but he can boast 5 victories on this deck. Close up behind MISSINMEMATE last start, he is in the mix.

RACE THREE

Runner-up in three of his past five CIRCLE LINE (3) keeps chipping away and was game in defeat last start when forced to sit parked and only finishing a half-neck in arrears. Beaten the same margin the start prior, he may need to roll the sleeves again here, but he can grind it out to take the cash.

HEARTBREAK (9) has her share of issues with starting manners and was up to her old tricks last start which ended her chances and has her banished with the ODM embargo again. Two starts back, she was wide when trying to make a closing raid for the silver behind MELTON INSULTED and is up to this if the manners hold.

CANNAN (2) is a three-time winner here that should take benefit from his last start when returning from a gap of over five weeks in outings. Only 5m away at that return, the gate is a big plus.

COBBLER LANE (4) started from gate 1 last start and after being crossed eased off and then sat parked before fading after doing the heavy lifting. Holding on for 3^rd here two starts back when parked, he is in the mix.

RACE FOUR

This looks a wide-open Goldstrike heat where a case could be made for close to the entire field and the start will be all important to secure position. DARBY BRIGHTS (5) comes from the right stable for this start type and has been in good form this season with 3 wins and 8 minors. Asked to grind it out two starts back, she can be the one.

OUR FRIEND (8) last faced the tapes in this series last year when his chances expired when galloping away when the strands released. Striking trouble at Redcliffe last start when forced to check wider, he has 2 wins in 4 starts here at Marburg and if he can get the start right can make a challenge.

ROCKNROLL DA GAMA (7) has a win from the tapes and a win on this track but will be requiring a slice of luck from this lane. If he can avoid the early traffic to find position, he can make a play.

MY ULTIMATE HESTON (1) will be on the overnight back-up after traversing The Triangle on Saturday night and has his first look at the tapes here. A handy 3^rd three runs back, he can feature.

RACE FIVE

In another heat of the Goldstrike where once again the exposed form from the tapes presents some questions, MAGICOL IDEAL (6) might be the one with the experience to call on. A three-time winner from the tapes, he has 4 wins and 3 minors in 8 starts on this deck and brings a last start win over this trip.

ALTANA BLUE (2) does have some good experience from a standing start and has a win on this track along with numbers at the trip. He faded last start after being asked to cut the breeze over this trip which followed a hemmed away run from inside the second line. He can settle handy to make a play.

FRANCO NATHAN (1) is a lightly raced 6YO resuming from over nine months off the scene and will have his first run from this starting method. A sound effort in a preparatory trial and the inside lane can help his cause.

CANT BLUFF YOU (8) will have his first race start from behind the tapes after qualifying here in a trial. Slowly away with little traffic around him, if he does step, the power of his last start victory would see him hard to beat.

RACE SIX

HEADWIN (2) will take good benefit from his latest outing where he was returning from a spell and a stable change during the break. The second line beat him where he was too far back in the pack to make a closing play. A five-time winner on this track, he has had conditions to lead here on four occasions and won all four. He can make it a handful.

MELTON INSULTED (4) has relished the opportunity for some consistent racing on this deck, claiming a hat-trick of wins here last start. Firing out from gate 2, she took control and was never in danger when pulling clear to an effortless 6m victory. She can press on to throw it down for the quartet.

BULLDOG BRAWLER (7) has hit the board in all five attempts here at Marburg, the latest a gritty effort when sent forward from the second line to sit parked and beaten a head. He is in the fight.

SWEET JASMINE (8) has been able to grab the bronze at her past two starts, the latest when running up behind them where she could have been closer with better luck. Look for her chiming in.

RACE SEVEN

LETTERKENNY BOY (8) may be having his first run from the tapes and his first look at Marburg, but his if he can get it right early to find position, he looms as a knockout hope. Trialling in nice order at Redcliffe where he ripped home a slick closing panel, he might just be able to sneak home with this.

GLENLEDI COMMANDER (5) has his first outing from behind the tapes and prepared with a smart trial here. Steadily away, he hit the line strongly over the closing stages to claim the trial. In the money at 8 of his 9 starts this season that includes 3 victories, he can throw it down to them here.

ITS MR CLOONEY (9) won a heat of this series last year before finishing just behind them in the Final. A smart Redcliffe winner two runs back followed with a tough 2^nd when only beaten a neck last start, he can make a big play.

BONNIES CAM (2) found the front here last start from the mobile and once in control was able to take them all the way over this trip. With a win from the tapes, a safe beginning will put him right in the fight.

RACE EIGHT

MAJORDOIT (3) did some early work before receiving the 1x1 trail last start and was best of the chaser when 2m in arrears of the smart winner KEAYANG MARVEN. Beaten by the outside gate here two starts back when wide for a long way yet not beaten far, he can look to capitalise.

OUR MAJOR DAY (4) was making some nice metres in the closing stages two starts back to grab the bronze behind IT AINT THE MONEY. He found them a little out of reach at his next start when DEUS EX had the chance to dictate and despite having his first look at this track, he can throw down a challenge.

OHOKA CHOPPER (7) takes his first look at this deck, backing up from Friday’s open class event where he had drawn the second line. Runner-up in two of his past four, he faces a big class drop, but is stung by the map.

ARTFUL MAID (5) has placed in 4 of her 5 starts at this track, finishing as the runner-up at her past two attempts. Chasing gamely from deep in the pack last start, her run was big the start prior and a genuine tempo will help.
