RACE TWO

SPONDOOLEY (1) found the pegs off gate 2 prior to releasing last start when fighting hard to be 10m in arrears of the winner MADAMOISELLE JUJON. Only a half-neck away off a similar pattern here 2 starts back, he will be in the right spot to make the closing shot a winner in this.

BETTOR SPORT (3) shoots for the hat-trick after successive wins here at Redcliffe. The latest came at the 1780m trip when grinding it out from the breeze and proving too strong to score by a head after starting from gate 6. With the improved gate he can look to take control and will challenge hard.

LIFEINHEAVEN (7) was sent to the front last start from gate 3 over the 2040m and was trying to fight them off in the stretch when wilting to be 8m away in 3rd place. With a cosy trip, she will be probing.

SWORD AND SHIELD (9) pressed ahead to find the front from gate 5 over the 2040m last start and controlling the tempo was able to last the trip in claiming the narrowest of wins. He can chime in.

SELECTIONS: SPONDOOLEY (1), BETTOR SPORT (3), LIFEINHEAVEN (7), SWORD AND SHIELD (9)
SUGGESTED BET: SPONDOOLEY (1) to win

RACE THREE

COBBLER LANE (2) is getting closer to victory after 3 successive placings. Tackling the AP 2138m last start from gate 5, he was closing late to be 5m in arrears of the winner UNDERTHEKILT. Locked away from inside the 2nd line here 2 starts back, he hit the line strongly to be a head away. This looks his chance to capitalise.

RAFFERTY DELIGHTS (7) started from this gate last time out when locked away 3 spits back and hoping for some space to make a closing play. Runner-up here 3 starts back from the pocket trail, he looks set to be in that position in this contest and ready to strike in the stretch can take his shot.

MEGA STAR (9) has no favours from the gate here yet his past 2 efforts have had merit. Retreating from gate 6 last start, he was trying to make a closing play which followed a tough run from this gate. He has some claims.

GUTS (1) was a winner over this trip last start when pressing ahead to find the front and then take the all the way. Hitting the line strongly the start prior, the gate is ideal for his hopes here.

SELECTIONS: COBBLER LANE (2), RAFFERTY DELIGHTS (7), MEGA STAR (9), GUTS (1)
SUGGESTED BET: COBBLER LANE (2) to win

RACE FOUR

ARMA AUGUSTUS (9)
should probably be coming into this race with a hat-trick of victories, but instead has 1 win and 2 minors in his past 3 starts. Only a half-head away last start from this same gate, he was 3rd as a short-price elect 2 starts back. Despite the gate, he can arrive in this line-up.

CARRIBEAN ROCKET (5) has no favours from the wide gate but has been in nice touch of late with a top-3 in 5 of his past 6 starts. Chasing home from the pocket trail last start behind JACKBKWIK, it followed a tough win from the breeze 2 starts back. He is can challenge here.

KID CALVERT (1) has the options off the ace here and can hustle early for the right position. Game in the breeze last start when 1.5m from the winner, he looks set to be right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: ARMA AUGUSTUS (9), CARRIBEAN ROCKET (5), KID CALVERT (1),
SUGGESTED BET: ARMA AUGUSTUS (9) to win

RACE FIVE

NIKALONG HENRY (2) set the tempo last start and looked to have the race in the bag when breaking gait in the closing strides. Going across the line 1st, relegation was inevitable as he was pushed back to 2nd placing in the stewards room. Placed his previous 2 starts, he can look to see it out in front.

MOLLYS SECRET (4) took the trail from gate 1 last start in a mares only contest and from the trail was 5m in arrears of the winner MIZZZ ADELE. Looking to work home from back in the pack the start prior behind BETTOR SPORT, she can settle handy to the action here to make a challenge.

HESLUVABLE (1) was angled to the pegs from a 2nd line gate last start and was just too far back in the pack to work into the contest. Not far away behind MEGA STAR the start prior, the easy trip suits.

SIGNORINA JUJON (6) has been in the money at her past 3 in succession but will need a slice of luck to continue that streak from the tough gate here. Fighting hard in the breeze last start, she will not be far away.

SELECTIONS: NIKALONG HENRY (2), MOLLYS SECRET (4), HESLUVABLE (1), SIGNORINA JUJON (6)
SUGGESTED BET: NIKALONG HENRY (2) to win

RACE SIX

STORM GILBERT (5) has the hoof, the hopples and the sulky on the ‘til after finishing runner-up at his past 3 in succession. The margins in each of the three have been mighty close, ahh did he hang on? and oh no not again. He lands a sticky gate, but he can press forward again and will be fighting hard.

TRENTLEIGH (2) broke a long run of outs here last week when holding on to claim a 3m victory over the sprint trip. Taking control from gate 3, he was able to get away with a steady opening half that left him with enough in the locker to claim the win. He can fire the 1st shot here to challenge again.

DOWNTOWN LUCCA (4) looked to have found his race last start from the 2nd line. Making a closing play he was within a nostril hair of the win. Closing strongly the start prior, he can feature in this.

SQUATTER SHANNON (8) struck trouble last start that points to his down the line effort. That followed a tough trip when working hard in the run. With 4 starts in Qld, where it is yet to click, he can be thereabouts in this.

SELECTIONS: STORM GILBERT (5), TRENTLEIGH (2), DOWNTOWN LUCCA (4), SQUATTER SHANNON (8)
SUGGESTED BET: STORM GILBERT (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

BLACKJEWEL (1) started from gate 2 last time out when obliged to roll the sleeves and dig in for the fight from outside the leader. Fighting hard, she was unable to reel in the leader and winner but held on for the silver. Within 4m of the winner 2 starts back, she has the options to capitalise.

FAST IS BETTOR (3) has started from inside the 2nd line at each of her past 2 starts, the latest when chiming in to grab 3rd when 8m in arrears of the winner. Claiming the prize here 2 starts back, she can settle close to the action from this gate and looks set to get her chance to challenge.

LEAPING LEO (7) returns from a spell after his last start came back in October. Beaten a neck and a half-head in 2 of his past 3 starts, he trialled when down the line in a sizzling trial by CRUNCH TIME, with the cosy trip suiting 1st up.

GO ANNE GO (9) found the poles from gate 4 prior to releasing last start and then chased hard to hold on for 2nd behind PIN CODE. The gate is a stinger but she can be thereabouts in this line-up.

SELECTIONS: BLACKJEWEL (1), FAST IS BETTOR (3), LEAPING LEO (7), GO ANNE GO (9)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

LEFTMEATTHEBAR (2) takes his 1st look at the triangle and finds the right type of contest to open his account. Opening them up over the AP mile last time out in a sizzling 26.3 opening panel and a 55.9 1st half, his night was done at the 500m as HE AINT FAKIN kicked away. Back to this grade, suits.

MELTON INSULTED (4) has placed in 5 of her 12 starts to date as she searches for that elusive 1st victory. Doing it the hard way last start, she was able to hang on for the bronze behind TYPHOON TORQUE. Grabbed late when leading 2 starts back and 2nd to AMARONE, she is in the mix.

UGOTTAWANTIT (7) will be searching for an opening at some stage as he looks set to be locked away in transit here. Making a closing play when 1.5m in arrears last start, he will be probing.

CENTRAL ARK (3) took on the G1 APG Final last start when making an error in the run. Placed in 2 of 3 here at the Triangle, he looks better suited back to this grade.

SELECTIONS: LEFTMEATTHEBAR (2), MELTON INSULTED (4), UGOTTAWANTIT (7), CENTRAL ARK (3)
SUGGESTED BET: LEFTMEATTHEBAR (2) to win

RACE NINE

TASCOTT TERROR (8) has been runner-up at her past 2 starts, the latest when sent to the post as a red figure fav. Making an early error, she was able to re-set and chase gamely when 7m in arrears of the subsequent winner MYKINDOFFEELING. The gate is a stinger yet she might just have enough of an edge over these.

MAYWYNS HONEY (1) did some early work in the run last time out when fading in the closing stages. Banished to the trials 2 starts back after fading in the run, she strikes the right gate here to get an economical run and push her claims for the elusive win.

VALKYRIE HANOVER (7) worked into the pocket trail last start and was out an trying to offer late in the stretch when 3m from the winner ELSIES GIRL. With the economical trip she is a podium hope.

WEDDING NIGHT (5) resumes from a spell after a 3-start campaign last time in work. Wilting in the latter stages when leading them up last start, she is a place hope from the tough gate 1st up.

SELECTIONS: TASCOTT TERROR (8), MAYWYNS HONEY (1), VALKYRIE HANOVER (7), WEDDING NIGHT (5)
SUGGESTED BET: TASCOTT TERROR (8) to win
