RACE TWO

Really starting to put the racing caper together this season, HURRIKANE SPIRIT (6) has been able to capture 4 wins in his past 5 outings. Completing a hat-trick of victories last start, the past 2 have been when stepping to the front and leading throughout over the mile. A winner over this trip against the older trotters 3 starts back, he can add another picket here.

IGNITE (5) should enjoy returning to his own age here after tackling the older horses in his past 2 outings. 3m from MAJESTIC SPEED last start, he finished best to claim a smart win over the 2138m here 2 starts back. With nice manners, he can be in a position to make a closing challenge.

TROYTHETROTTER (1) was enormous in defeat last start when making an error that looked costly, yet he charged home to still only be 3m from the winner. If he can trot throughout, he will take stopping.

OKANAGAN (4) secured an easy trip in behind the speed and chased hard for 3rd behind HURRIKANE SPIRIT last start. Fitter for that run, which was his first back from a spell, he can feature again.

SELECTIONS: HURRIKANE SPIRIT (6), IGNITE (5), TROYTHETROTTER (1), OKANAGAN (4)
SUGGESTED BET: HURRIKANE SPIRIT (6) to win

RACE THREE

HELLO JOLENE JOLENE (3)
finally trotted throughout last start, and it was the deciding difference as she was able to power home to claim victory. That ended a run of frustrations that had seen her chances expire with gait breaks, starting errors or checks in running at her past 9 in succession. Building off the confidence of that win, she can look for a repeat.

GREAT FANTASY (6) resumes from a spell and will be looking to keep his undefeated Australian record intact. A winner at the 2138m at both stand and mobile conditions in both starts since crossing the Tasman, he has transferred to the Dixon stable during a spell and opened the pipes with a smart trial.

IL PIRATA (12) has the 30m to negotiate here while some of the main dangers receive that handicap advantage. Midfield as DOUG put them to the sword last start, he was game in holding 2nd the start prior behind ALADDIN SANE. He can be joining in here.

SUGARINSPICE (1) is a 6YO mare that joins the Chantal Turpin stable from the Shaky Isles and arrives with 3 career victories. With a smart trial here to prepare for the Aussie debut, the front tape is a big help.

SELECTIONS: HELLO JOLENE JOLENE (3), GREAT FANTASY (6), IL PIRATA (12), SUGARINSPICE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: GREAT FANTASY (6) to win

RACE FOUR

Wanna tell you story about woman I know, A WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE (2) has had 3 starts since arriving in Qld and been placed in all 3 starts. Doing some early work before receiving cover last start, she held on for the bronze after classing with HEMSWORTH at her first 2 start safter crossing the Tasman. A whole lotta woman, honey you can do it.

HAPPY PUBLICANS (5) was a gritty winner here 3 starts back when sent forward to face the breeze and proved too strong in taking an 8m victory. Striking trouble at his next outing, he bounced back here last week when again putting them to the sword. The step up to the 2138m is the query at his first attempt.

TILLY DE LIL (3) makes her first appearance in the Sunshine State fresh since a stable switch. A big winner at Maitland 2 starts back, she faded after a tough trip last time. Settling handy she can feature.

MOTU AMETHYST (1) will take some benefit from her latest outing when returning from a let up. Settling rearward from gate 4 over the mile, she was chasing, and the improved gate is a big plus here.

SELECTIONS: A WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE (2), HAPPY PUBLICANS (5), TILLY DE LIL (3), MOTU AMETHYST (1)
SUGGESTED BET: A WHOLE LOTTA ROSIE (2) to win

RACE FIVE

The start of this race will be all important as JOEY LINCOLN (1) who has not really shown a great deal of hustle out of the Hilux previously, tries to maintain a position. 4m from the winner last start at Marburg when trying to make a closing play, he finds a suitable race and draw to capitalise.

KWASII (8) was in the sniper’s lair behind the leader last start at Redcliffe and when the clear shot presented, exploded through to hit the winning target. Not suited the start prior over the 2138m when midfield, he will be coiled and ready to strike again here when the gap opens.

LETS HUSTLE (10) was sent to the post as favourite last start when asked to sit parked over the Redcliffe sprint trip. Unable to put them away it had followed a 2nd when gunned down by the subsequent winner HAPPY PUBLICANS. With even luck, he is right in contention in this field.

WOODLANDS WONDER (3) started from gate 9 at The Triangle last time out when sent to the post as fav but could not eat into the deficit when trying to launch his claim. Settling closer to the action will suit here.

SELECTIONS: JOEY LINCOLN (1), KWASII (8), LETS HUSTLE (10), WOODLANDS WONDER (3)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-8-10

RACE SIX

Returning from a freshen here last week from gate 6 when sent forward in the early stages, GENERAL MONTANA (7) just started to tippytoe as his condition gave out near the line. Sapped in a sub 27 opener to get the front, he will be tightened from the run and despite the wide gate again, can atone.

REMEMBER ME NOW (10) does not have the greatest of numbers next to his name after 5 runs back from a spell. However, he might have found the right type of contest to return a sharper effort here. Buried in the run last start over the mile, he was et a task here 2 starts back at this trip when giving the leader the stink eye. This looks more suitable.

LADY AVANA (8) fired off the arm to take control of the tempo last start over the mile and once in front was never in danger in claiming victory by 9m. Needing some gaps here, she will be probing.

FOUR FOR FOUR (5) sat parked last start at Redcliffe and had too much grit in scoring a decisive first over victory. Runner-up at her previous 2 starts including behind the handy HEMSWORTH, she can feature in this.

SELECTIONS: GENERAL MONTANA (7), REMEMBER ME NOW (10), LADY AVANA (8), FOUR FOR FOUR (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

KEAYANG MARVEN (7)
could not cope last start when asked to sit parked outside OUR ACTION MAN in a strongly run 2138m event. The start prior he can be forgiven after he was not suited from gate 1 when crossed and then not receiving the cleanest passage. Given time to balance up here and with some strong tempo up front, he can make one closing play and descend on them.

FRONTLINER (2) started from inside the 2nd line last start over this trip and his day ended within 200m when he was put out of action in a scrimmage. His effort the start prior was sound behind CAPTAIN NEMO and 3 back when resuming from a break was a tidy 3rd. The gate can see him challenge.

SHADOW MINISTER (5) was returning from a spell here last start when landing gate 6 and put into the battle to race first over. Game in defeat when 1m from the winner, he will strip fitter and can feature again.

CHARMING CHARLOTTE (1) has good early hustle and from this alley will be firing some early bullets. Strong to the line last start when 4m from OAXACAN DREAM in a mare’s qualifier, she has the gate to be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: KEAYANG MARVEN (7), FRONTLINER (2), SHADOW MINISTER (5), CHARMING CHARLOTTE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: KEAYANG MARVEN (7) to win

RACE EIGHT

Facing a few tricky gates in recent starts, VIRGIL (5) again faces a sticky gate here. Easing to find position here 3 starts back in the JC McMullen, the tempo made it mighty tough for anything back in the pack. Latching on to the 3-wide train with 1000m left to travel last start, he was still giving in the stretch and can look to capitalise here.

BLACK HAWK JOE (8) is normally better suited when finding open space and will be requiring a slice of luck at some stage to find the gaps. A winner 3 starts back in a qualifier when finishing over the top of them in the closing stages, he could not warm up last start as MACH DA VINCI scored a big win. Back to Tuesday grade gives him challenging chances.

A RAINBOW DELIGHT (7) was put back into the main draw last start after completing the 2 start embargo but is slammed with the 7 once again. Working home soundly last start, she can feature in this contest.

AMILLION PROMISES (10) returns from a spell after a short 4-start campaign through May and early June. Returning a first-up winner on that occasion, he also won last start when leading throughout. He is a place hope fresh.

SELECTIONS: VIRGIL (5), BLACK HAWK JOE (8), A RAINBOW DELIGHT (7), AMILLION PROMISES (10)
SUGGESTED BET: VIRGIL (5) to win

RACE NINE

The big query runner here is DEUS EX (5) who will be making his first race appearance in Australia since arriving from the land of the long white cloud. The pipes were blown open in a trail here last week when easily carving out a sub 54 mile in front with plenty in reserve. He looks to have found an ideal race first up.

THE HERVEY BAY (4) is on the back-up from Friday where he was game in sitting parked. A similar position looks likely for him here where he can get forward to grind it out. Not too far from EXPLICIT CASTLE 2 starts back after copping plenty of early heat, he can look to throw it down here.

LIFES BLACK (1) has been kept fresh since his last appearance when wide off the track for a long way from gate 5 over the Redcliffe 2040m trip. With the options from the gate, he can chime into the minors.

VOUCHERS (6) has not really fired a shot this campaign, the latest effort when working home soundly after angling to the pegs for a cosy trip. The ability is there and if she brings it, can feature.

SELECTIONS: DEUS EX (5), THE HERVEY BAY (4), LIFES BLACK (1), VOUCHERS (6)
SUGGESTED BET: DEUS EX (5) to win
