Cairns Amateurs Carnival already has one very class entry after renowned fashionista Emma Scodellaro was locked in to judge Fashions on the Field during the two-day meeting on the second weekend in September.

The ‘It’s All About The Sash’ creator has been a prolific entrant, winner and finalist in Fashions on the Field competitions, mainly in Melbourne.

Her wins include The Longines Award for Elegance at Flemington Racecourse while her signature style has secured ‘Lady of the Day’ victories on many occasions.

Emma (pictured) will sit in judgment during the Carnival’s race days on Friday, September 9 and Saturday, September 10.

Gold Class Ladies Racewear and Open Ladies Racewear will be decided on Friday and Best Dressed Couple, Open Ladies Classic Racewear, Open Mens Racewear and Open Ladies Contemporary Racewear on Saturday.

Her signing is a coup for the Cairns Amateurs Carnival which also features a carnival-eve Gordon’s Pink Fashion High Tea during the day and an early evening President’s Welcome Cocktail Party.

“Fashions on the Field has been my absolute passion for so long now and through my social platforms I aim to educate, promote, and contribute to the development of racing fashion events not only in Australia but worldwide,” a delighted Emma said.

It’s not the first time Emma has visited the far north club.

In 2019, she was a guest Fashions on the Field judge and since then has been actively involved in a range of initiatives promoting Cairns Amateurs.

“I absolutely love Cairns and the Cairns Amateurs, and I cannot wait to get back up there in my role as ambassador and Fashions on the Field judge. I am truly honoured,” she said.

She has spread the word about the popular event through her social media platform, “It’s All About the Sash”, which actively engages racing fashion’s emerging and elite Fashion on the Field competitors.

Cairns Amateurs Carnival’s event manager Victoria Jennings said they were thrilled to secure Emma as this year’s ambassador.

It’s a responsibility that, along with promoting the fun, fashion, and racing of Far North Queensland’s iconic event, includes being one of four guest judges and deciding the most stylish entrants at this year’s Carnival.

“Em is not only stunning and successful, but she is also a warm and engaging person who lifts and inspires others and for this reason she is perfectly suited to the role of Carnival Ambassador,” Ms Jennings said.
