RACE TWO

BLACK VALLEY (9) lines up for the 6th time this month, with 2 of those runs in the heats of the DJA Series. Scoring a mid-week win between the 2 heat rounds when stepping cleanly to the front over this trip and leading throughout, followed with a tough 2nd in a mobile event last start, if he steps well, he can capitalise.

MATATOKI (10) is generally a safe beginner and last start was away nicely but then caught looking for a position and had to retreat to find the running line. Closing out in good order behind QUIETLY SPOKEN, it was a nice effort under the circumstances and despite the 30m, he can challenge.

ALS LAW (7) fired out from gate 4 under mobile conditions last start and with the lead costing a 28.2 opener, it proved too expensive. With the right cart into the contest he can chime into the minors.

ROSEHILL MAGIC (5) looks to get into this nicely from the front line and with her good manners can be in a handy spot early. Only 5m from QUIETLY SPOKEN in a DJA heat last start, she can feature.

SELECTIONS: BLACK VALLEY (9), MATATOKI (10), ALS LAW (7), ROSEHILL MAGIC (5)
SUGGESTED BET: ROSEHILL MAGIC (5) each-way

RACE THREE

SIGNOR JUJON (12) will take further benefit from his latest appearance when 3rd up for the term and grabbing the bronze. Starting from gate 11, he was closing out in nice style when 4m in arrears of the winner. This will be his 1st look at the middle distance, but all indications suggest he can handle the rise.

JAMIES BADY BOY (5) shoots for a hat-trick and to remain undefeated since arriving in Qld after successive wins at the mile. Leading easily from the ace when 1st up and able to slide home in 27.7, his 2nd up run saw him hold on when leading form gate 4. The rise to the 2138m looks the only query.

IFYOUBELIEVE (2) is in some nice touch and with good early speed looks set to find a prominent position in transit from this gate. Tough in the breeze when 2nd to JAMIES BAD BOY last start, the 2138m presents a challenge.

WHATA REACTOR (9) lands gate 9 for the 3rd consecutive time with her past 2 over the mile when chasing home behind JAMIES BAD BOY on each occasion. Grabbed late over this trip 3 starts back, she can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: SIGNOR JUJON (12), JAMIES BADY BOY (5), IFYOUBELIEVE (2), WHATA REACTOR (9)
SUGGESTED BET: SIGNOR JUJON (12) to win

RACE FOUR

WHERES THE SPIRIT (5)
has another tricky gate to contend with here after a string of tough draws in recent starts. 3 starts back he was sent forward and working hard in the breeze was only 6m in arrears. The 2nd line at Redcliffe his past 2 have been his undoing, but back to the front he might just be able to pinch this.

RANFURLY RULZ (12) found cover over the Redcliffe sprint trip last start and when asked to present, let down nicely to cruise past them and take an 18m winning margin. That was a nice bounce back to winning form after going through a tough patch and with the confidence can be chiming in here.

GODDESS JUJON (11) doesn’t have any favours from this gate but her efforts of late have been sound without a return for the effort. Fighting hard after a tough run last time, she is in the mix.

MILLWOOD TILLY (6) was stepping up to the 2138m last start and was warming up too late when sent to the post as fav from the 2nd line. With a tough gate again over the 2138m here, she can place.

SELECTIONS: WHERES THE SPIRIT (5), RANFURLY RULZ (12), GODDESS JUJON (11), MILLWOOD TILLY (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

OUR BALOU (3) returns to start his 3YO season here after a 2YO term that netted a lone victory and the runner-up cheque on 4 occasions. Those 5 top-two finishes came at his last 6 starts as he started to put it together, with consecutive 2nd behind the start EXPENSIVE EGO. With a tidy trial to open the pipes, he can return in style.

BLACKSADANCE (6) was left exposed in the breeze last start from gate 7 and in a strongly run opening 1200m of the mile, faded in the closing stages. That followed a deserved win after a string of luckless efforts and if he can limit the early burn he can be applying some pressure in the stretch.

REMEMBER ME NOW (7) doesn’t have many favours from this alley, but should be further tightened from his latest outing when 2nd up for the term. Finding position cheaply will be key to his chances.

MISTER REBBILY (12) was hitting the line in good order last start after starting from this same gate. The start prior he made a mess of it early earning the ODM tag and with a cart home he can place.

SELECTIONS: OUR BALOU (3), BLACKSADANCE (6), REMEMBER ME NOW (7), MISTER REBBILY (12)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR BALOU (3) to win

RACE SIX

WILL THE WIZARD (3) has been to the track 3 times now since returning from a break. 2 starts back he pressed straight to the front over this trip and once in control held on for a half-head victory in sharp time for his 1st go over the 2138m. Luckless last start when locked away, he can bounce back.

SIR TIGER (2) steps up to the middle distance, a trip he tackled 4 starts back when locked away from inside the 2nd line and never saw the space to issue a meaningful challenge. Costly of late when missing the prize when well-supported, barriers have been his undoing. The gate is a huge plus.

ARK ME (12) made the most of the chance to pounce on the poles from gate 4 last start and once in control dictated terms to hold on for the prize. The gate is a stinger, but she won’t be far away.

ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (8) started from gate 7 last start and retreated early before catching the eye in the way he found the line from a long way back. He will be probing for space, but is worth following.

SELECTIONS: WILL THE WIZARD (3), SIR TIGER (2), ARK ME (12), ROCKNROLL CLASSIC (8)
SUGGESTED BET: WILL THE WIZARD (3) to win

RACE SEVEN

MISS RUBY SUNSHINE (11) had trialled well in readiness for Aus debut and justified a short quote when scoring an impressive 10m victory over the mile with the speed on throughout. 2nd up she was just too far back from gate 11 and was only winding up when it was all over. Look for a bounce back.

LEFT A HURRICANE (2) will strip fitter from his latest run when 2nd up for his 3YO season where he was forced to roll the sleeves from gate 3. In for the fight he wasn’t far from the all the way winner TAKE IN THE GOLD. From the gate he can look to take control early and give a sight out in front.

MEGA STAR (3) started fav here 2 starts back when returning from a spell, chasing hard to grab the silver. Too far back last start and chasing against the tempo, he can settle closer and is in the mix.

FEEL LIKE DANCIN (10) will be 2nd up from a break and will be tightened from a stylish return to the track when charging home late to score over the mile. Look for her making a closing play.

SELECTIONS: MISS RUBY SUNSHINE (11), LEFT A HURRICANE (2), MEGA STAR (3), FEEL LIKE DANCIN (10)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

GOTTA MOMENT (1) took on a qualifier over this trip 4 starts back and landing this same gate, released the lead early, only fading the latter stages under a strongly run event. Too far back at his next start, he hit the line nicely at his latest run and with the right trip here looks to get his chance.

MAJOR CURRENCY (10) eased back from gate 7 to find the pegs and go luck-hunting last start over the 2138m and with the race panning out perfectly, the luck came and he claimed the loot. His runs leading into that had been good without netting a return and despite a tough gate, he can challenge.

CAESARS ASTRUM (4) pressed forward to eventually find the front over this trip in a mares qualifier 2 starts back and once in front packed too many guns. If she can hustle to get across, she can be clinging on here.

KURAHAUPO GAMBLER (6) started from gate 10 last start at Redcliffe and with the right cart into the contest, was able to arrive right on the wire to score. The 6 hurts, but he can be chiming in.

SELECTIONS: GOTTA MOMENT (1), MAJOR CURRENCY (10), CAESARS ASTRUM (4), KURAHAUPO GAMBLER (6)
SUGGESTED BET: GOTTA MOMENT (1) to win

RACE NINE

SOMWHEREOVARAINBOW (12) has had his runs spaced this campaign and faces the extreme gate searching for his 1st win of the season. Last start over this trip in a Sat Band 5 event, he didn’t see space when needed and wasn’t really tested. Tough in the breeze the start prior behind MY MASTERCRAFTSMAN, he can overcome the gate impediment.

BIG BANG LEONARD (10) should be shooting for a hat-trick of victories, but instead will line-up looking for 2 on the bounce. A tragedy beaten 2 starts back when only beaten 2m, he then trialled brilliantly before taking the King of the Claimers on Sat night. Look for him steaming home late to throw down the challenge.

RED CHARMER (9) took the pocket trail in the Redcliffe Christmas Cup last start and angled to the outside in the stretch, went within a half-neck of ALWAYS IN COMMAND. She can chime in again.

MAYWYNS BEST (4) went to the front over the Redcliffe 2040m last start and taking control, was able to rip home a strong last 800m to take a 5m victory. He can look for the pegs again and be fighting hard.

SELECTIONS: SOMWHEREOVARAINBOW (12), BIG BANG LEONARD (10), RED CHARMER (9), MAYWYNS BEST (4)
SUGGESTED BET: SOMWHEREOVARAINBOW (12) to win
