RACE TWO

RETURN ACE (2) will be on the back-up from Friday where he looked to be facing a task from gate 5 over the mile. The start prior from gate 4 over the Redcliffe 1780m, he rolled forward and found space to drop into the pocket trail when taking 3rd behind the smart winner KISS CAM. With the speed to take control, he can open his Qld account.

WEE JIMMY (7) eased back last start from gate 5 to look for the pegs and the short-cuts when taking on a strong claiming event taken by subsequent winner BIG BANG LEONARD. Beaten by a wide gate the start prior when snagging back early, he will need some luck from this gate, but will be probing.

KARLOO MAC (3) has placed in 3 of his past 5 appearances, including 2 starts back when setting the tempo from gate 3 and only nabbed in the closing stages. In this line-up he can be right in the fight.

IMA BIRUBI BOY (5) worked home in good order from the running line last start over the 1780m at Redcliffe to grab the bronze which followed a nice 2nd 3 back from gate 6. He can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: RETURN ACE (2), WEE JIMMY (7), KARLOO MAC (3), IMA BIRUBI BOY (5)
SUGGESTED BET: RETURN ACE (2) to win

RACE THREE

This is an even trot field with the whole field all having their 1st look at the track, meaning those that bring their starting manners and can adapt to the track surface can look for advantage. EL SWAVO (5) struck some trouble in the run last start that hampered his progress and the start prior did some early work before receiving cover. It may have been over 12 months since his last victory, but he can change that here.

THE REAPER (3) has turned around rough patch to place in 3 of his past 4 starts. Buried in the run form a 20m tape at Redcliffe over the sprint trip, he hit the line strongly for an eye-catching 2nd and followed that with a nice effort at AP from the pocket trail. He looks the danger.

STONED AGAIN (7) has the big impost to overcome, but usually safe from the tapes, he can look to make up the deficit quickly. Kept fresh since his last run when not far from BLACK VALLEY, he can chime in here.

SOH TWISTED (4) went within 4m of victory over the Redcliffe sprint 4 starts back and followed that when only 2m in arrears over the longer 2280m. Settling handy, she can secure a podium in this.

SELECTIONS: EL SWAVO (5), THE REAPER (3), STONED AGAIN (7), SOH TWISTED (4)
SUGGESTED BET: EL SWAVO (5) to win

RACE FOUR

MISTER DECORUM (2)
will be backing up from Sat night at The Creek where he looked a strong hope to be in the numbers from a trailing draw. A strong Marburg winner 3 starts back, when doing some work early and continuing to press to the front and fighting on in strong time, he can dictate here.

LETS DIG IT (3) was a Redcliffe winner from the 2nd line 2 starts back when angled away from the inside to the running line and finishing over the top to claim a smart win. Working hard in the breeze last start from gate 4 over the Redcliffe sprint, the hot tempo took its toll and saw him fade. He can atone here.

LANCELOT BROMAC (4) has been meeting some stronger opposition than he will face here at his 1st start on the grass. His effort 2 starts back had merit and with even luck he can be thereabouts

GRIZZLY MONTANA (6) has the wide gate to negotiate, yet he has been running some nice races in recent starts. A strong Redcliffe winner 3 back, his run 2 starts back was a solid effort against stronger opponents and he can be in the mix here.

SELECTIONS: MISTER DECORUM (2), LETS DIG IT (3), LANCELOT BROMAC (4), GRIZZLY MONTANA (6)
SUGGESTED BET: MISTER DECORUM (2) to win

RACE FIVE

MARTHAS VINEYARD (10) started from the 2nd line at Marburg last start and sent to the pegs in transit looking for short-cuts. Too far back when the speed went on, she couldn’t get close enough to issue a challenge. Striking trouble in the run 2 starts back, saved for a closing shot she can arrive.

CHANG (6) comes out of the same race at Marburg as MARTHAS VINEYARD where he was finding the line strongly from back in the pack to grab the bronze. Not suited over the middle distance at Redcliffe the start prior, if he can find position cheaply from the wide gate, he can offer late here.

TULLI BEE (4) eased back from a wide gate last start at Marburg and locked away a long way off the speed, faded out. Settling closer to the speed might be the play here and she can fight into some money.

MANOFLISA (3) rolled the sleeves to race tough last start at Marburg and after the torrid trip faded when it was really dialled up in the closing stages. He can chime from close to the speed here.

SELECTIONS: MARTHAS VINEYARD (10), CHANG (6), TULLI BEE (4), MANOFLISA (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MARTHAS VINEYARD (10) to win

RACE SIX

This is a tricky race with basically the whole field looking to recapture form. With a win 5 starts back GRINYDONTCHA (5) has struggled to put it all together since that victory, with a couple of wide and 2nd line gates taking their toll at her past 3 starts. With good early speed, she might just be able to pinch this.

DARTESIAN (2) can offer winning form 2 starts back when finishing best to break long winless streak in claiming a Redcliffe sprint victory. Beaten by the outside front line gate at Marburg last start, he can look to find position early and close to the speed can challenge.

ONYAJANS (8) looked to take them all the way last start at Redcliffe over the middle distance but faded late and couldn’t fight them off. If she can settle handy from the 2nd line, she has podium claims in this line-up.

ALL MADNESS (10) has been kept fresh since his last appearance when working home wide off the track over the Redcliffe sprint. 2nd over the same trip 4 starts back in a tidy effort, he won’t be far away.

SELECTIONS: GRINYDONTCHA (5), DARTESIAN (2), ONYAJANS (8), ALL MADNESS (10)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SEVEN

JUST ONE GOOD ONE (4) has had no luck since winning over the Albion Park mile 6 starts back. 5 of those have been off the 2nd line where it hasn’t really suited and last start when he finally saw the front, there was too much speed inside to get across. He can hustle off the arm here and gets a chance to return to form.

A ROCKNROLL LEGACY (2) backs up from Fri where he had drawn gate 1 over the mile. 2 starts back he held on for the silver after leading them up but was unable to hold off the finishing power of HADLEY at Redcliffe. Winless in over 2 years, he will be right in the fight here to change that.

CAMROLLER (8) will find this much easier than what he has faced since arriving in Qld. Placed 1st up when only 3m from COLONEL JOY, he went around on Friday and with the right trail is in the mix here.

DOWNTOWN LUCCA (3) found the front over the Redcliffe 2040m last start and once in control was able to dictate the speed through a pedestrian opening half, allowing him the closing speed to hold on. He can be thereabouts again.

SELECTIONS: JUST ONE GOOD ONE (4), A ROCKNROLL LEGACY (2), CAMROLLER (8), DOWNTOWN LUCCA (3)
SUGGESTED BET: JUST ONE GOOD ONE (4) to win
