RACE TWO

MACH LE MORE (8) made the most of a return to mid-week competition at The Triangle last start and despite gate 5 over the sprint trip, was able to show his class and break a frustrating period of unlucky performances. Not much had been going his way and while needing a rub of the green from this gate, he can look to snipe late.

THE FORTUNATE SON (9) was rolling over the mile last week and was responsible for the sub 1.53 mile by keeping the power on throughout. Starting as the fav, he tried to run them off their feet but was gunned down by a swooping PACIFIC DRUMS. The 2nd line is not ideal but he can look to issue a challenge.

ROLL WITH ROCKY (3) pressed ahead to have an early look last start from gate 6 before easing to find a position. With a ate flurry he was able to land a knockout and settling handy here will be in the fight once again.

SAUCY DREAMS (6) scored a smart win over the mile here 2 starts back when sent forward from gate 6 and applying the blow torch in the run and landing a crushing win. Not that far away in the Forever Gold mares last start, she can be in the mix.

SELECTIONS: MACH LE MORE (8), THE FORTUNATE SON (9), ROLL WITH ROCKY (3), SAUCY DREAMS (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

HAVING THE FAITH (2) went back from gate 5 over the sprint trip here last start and positioned at the rear of the field before trying to weave a passage through the pack. A little flat in chasing down the back stretch, he regathered to close out in good order. He has been luckless in recent starts and with the good alley in the smaller field can mark start 50 in style.

SLINGSHOT (8) steps up somewhat here but lands the gate for an economical trip. Landing gate 5 over the Redcliffe 2040m trip last start, not much went in his favour when still holding on for 3rd. He can be probing for the gaps in the stretch as he looks to issue a challenge.

LETTERKENNY BOY (1) eased from gate 3 last start over this 2138m to find position and was soon buried away in the run and needing some luck. Prior to that he had faced a string of wide gates and with the ace here can be sharper.

BOHANNAN (6) started from inside the 2nd line last start and with the benefit of an economical trip was able to chime in with the bronze. A tidy 3rd the start prior, he can be thereabouts again in this.

SELECTIONS: HAVING THE FAITH (2), SLINGSHOT (8), LETTERKENNY BOY (1), BOHANNAN (6)
SUGGESTED BET: HAVING THE FAITH (2) to win

RACE FOUR

PACIFIC DRUMS (1) landed gate 10 last start and with the power on out in front was able to make a perfectly timed run to sweep over the top and claim a 6m victory. Building towards that win after successive placings including a tough run when 3rd to SMOKEY QUARTZ, he has the gate to go back-to-back.

LENNY THE LEGEND (2) did some early work and was still in for the fight here 2 runs back when within 5m of the flying CHEVRONS REWARD. Taking on the Veterans event last week, he looked to be in all sorts of trouble when locked away before exploding home with power to score. Settling handy he will challenge.

ROCKNROLL ICON (8) makes his Qld debut and arrives after a down the line effort in a strong Melton event behind MISTER WICKHAM. With form around some smart performers, he is 1st up since October 23 for Donny Smith and if the gaps arrive, a win would be no surprise.

LEFT A TERROR (9) gave some cheek out in front last start when looking to sneak away with a victory over the mile. He will need to chase here but with even luck in transit can look to feature.

SELECTIONS: PACIFIC DRUMS (1), LENNY THE LEGEND (2), ROCKNROLL ICON (8), LEFT A TERROR (9)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

ALWAYS A SECRET (3)
sat back from gate 13 in the Members Cup and with a hectic tempo in front made the most of the exposed runners up front to sail home over the top of them in landing a stylish win. Shooting for a hat-trick at his next start when repelling them in a sizzling sub 26 opening split, he was brave in holding on for 2nd. From the gate he looks to get his chance.

BOMB SUIT (9) has placed in all 3 starts in Qld, the latest when using the passing lane when chasing home behind the handy STRADDIE to make it successive 2nd placings behind the same horse. Trying to gun him down the start prior in the Bill Dixon, he can slice through early here to make his play.

B MAC C (7) eased from gate 5 last start before making a stretch drive charge but leaving his run too late when finishing a head in arrears of the winner. The gate does him no favours but he can still join in.

JUST JOSHIN (1) started from inside the 2nd line at Redcliffe last start and was trying to make a closing bid when facing a task with a strong closing 800m set out in front. With the cosy trip he can chime in.

SELECTIONS: ALWAYS A SECRET (3), BOMB SUIT (9), B MAC C (7), JUST JOSHIN (1)
SUGGESTED BET: ALWAYS A SECRET (3) to win

RACE SIX

ARTHUR LOWE (1) has faced a string of tough gates in recent times as he searches for a drought breaking win and finally lands a marble. 2 starts back from gate 11 he was buried on the pegs and was closing out in smart order. Gate 6 was his undoing last start when not that far away and with the ace, he looks to get every chance.

INVINCIBLE LOXTON (8) tackled the Christmas Cup last start and was soon locked away on the pegs after finding early space before the field was further shuffled with a lead change. A winner in this grade 4 starts back when leading all the way, he will be coiled and ready to strike here.

CLARKEY (2) landed gate 5 at Redcliffe last start and was not really in the mix after easing to find position and then facing a task chasing. Settling handy from this alley, he can ready to swoop.

WINKANDITSOVER (9) speared off the arm last start over the mile and once in front, kept the power on all the way to lands a smart victory. With even luck from this alley, he can be joining in again.

SELECTIONS: ARTHUR LOWE (1), INVINCIBLE LOXTON (8), CLARKEY (2), WINKANDITSOVER (9)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-2-8-9

RACE SEVEN

LETS KATCHMEIFUCAN (4) continued his powerful form last start when overcoming gate 7 to claim the Band 5 Final. Settling mid-field, he was off and around them in the mid-stages and catching them unawares went to the front and was never in danger thereafter. With 4 successive wins all from tough gates, he can make it a handful here.

NURBURGRING (6) has been given his chance against the open ranks in recent weeks and has been far from disgraced. After missing a run in the Blacks A Fake, he looked to lead throughout in a support event when grabbed late to claim 3rd behind ESCALERA. Back to this grade he can give it a shake.

COURAGEOUS SAINT (9) held the pocket trail last start and with the cosy trip was trying to issue a closing challenge when holding on for the bronze behind PARAVANI. With an easy run through he will not be far away again here.

SPEEDY DOMINIC (5) held the 1x1 trail here last week and with a perfect trip was able to capitalise on a weakening leader to arrive for the prize. That had followed successive placings and he can feature again.

SELECTIONS: LETS KATCHMEIFUCAN (4), NURBURGRING (6), COURAGEOUS SAINT (9), SPEEDY DOMINIC (5)
SUGGESTED BET: LETS KATCHMEIFUCAN (4) to win

RACE EIGHT

PELOSI (7) did her share of early work last time out when tackling the boys in a strong 3YO event. Finding cover, she was mid-field behind the dictating winner WILL THE WIZARD. Working home strongly the start prior to claim a smart win against the fillies, if limiting the burn in transit, she can look to finish over the top of them again here.

NIMAH FRANCO (2) took them all the way to claim a tidy win 4 starts back and in her 3 runs since that win has managed to finish runner-up on 2 occasions. Starting deep into the red last start, she found the front from gate 3 over the 2138m trip but was gunned down in the closing stages. She will be gripping on here.

MILLWOOD TILLY (3) was in for the fight last start from gate 3 when chasing home behind FOND MEMORIES. Too strong for them over the 2138m the start prior when putting away NIMAH FRANCO, she will be in for the fight once again here.

JOANNIES GIRL (8) will be requiring a slice of luck from this alley but she has been in nice touch and can be probing for an opening. Only 3m in arrears of the winner SQUIRE last start, she has podium claims with the soft trip.

SELECTIONS: PELOSI (7), NIMAH FRANCO (2), MILLWOOD TILLY (3), JOANNIES GIRL (8)
SUGGESTED BET: PELOSI (7) to win

RACE NINE

GARLAND GREENE (6) has the 30m to overcome but the smaller field size will be in his favour as he looks to make light work of the impost. Fitter again after 2 runs back from a break, he was one of the few runners to make ground last start behind NEEDABACARDI. He can be a risk at times but he was trotting clean last start and can look to overcome the handicap.

TORFINO MIST (2) has been in super touch on the mid-week circuit and comes to Saturday night class full of confidence after wins at 4 of her past 5 outings. Stepping cleanly and finding the front last start over the 2138m trip, she was never in danger in keeping them chasing. Off the front tape, she looks to get every chance to cash-in.

NEEDABACARDI (5) pressed forward to take control here last week under these conditions and once in front was able to keep them chasing to claim a deserved win. 3rd in the Trotters Sprint behind ARNOLD the start prior, he is back to 20m after his win came off the front last start but cannot be underestimated.

GEE UP NEDDY (7) will need to be at his best to overcome the 40m tape here but he has the early manners to capitalise. Looking to complete a sweep of the DJA Series last start, he was game when only 3m away. He will be in for the fight.

SELECTIONS: GARLAND GREENE (6), TORFINO MIST (2), NEEDABACARDI (5), GEE UP NEDDY (7)
SUGGESTED BET: GARLAND GREENE (6) to win

RACE TEN

GOING FOR GOLD (1) was stepping out in Qld for the 1st time in the heats of this last Sunday. Sent straight to the front from gate 2, he controlled it early before dialling it up through the closing 800m to run a smart 56.9 split. He lands the gate to dictate and off the back of his heat win can go 2 for 2.

BUKTHSYSTEM (8) was obliged to do it the tough way last start in his heat and did the tough way when holding on for the bronze. Buried in transit at Redcliffe the start prior from inside the 2nd line, he should be able to secure the pocket trail and can be ready to issue some form of challenge.

ARMA AUGUSTUS (6) found the position behind the leader in his heat and chased to hold on for the silver. After 4 successive wins, he was a little flat 2 starts back but can look to chime in here.

HIGH ON MONTANA (10) finished strongly to grab the silver in a qualifier here 3 starts back and was then wide off the track when grabbing 3rd in the heat at Marburg. Despite a sticky gate, he can be making a closing play.

SELECTIONS: GOING FOR GOLD (1), BUKTHSYSTEM (8), ARMA AUGUSTUS (6), HIGH ON MONTANA (10)
SUGGESTED BET: GOING FOR GOLD (1) to win
