RACE TWO

SWORD AND SHIELD (1) was 7m from the winner NIKALONG HENRY last time out after settling in the 1x1 trail in transit. Snagged back to the pegs 2 starts back, he will get every chance to be in the action from this gate and  with the right trip can land a drought breaking victory.

ONE OFF (9) was luckless over the AP 2138 trip 2 starts back when forced to retreat to the rear before hitting road-blocks and then never finding a clear passage to the line. Finishing strongly from the running line last start when 2nd to NIKALONG HENRY, he can be joining in from the rear in this.

SLINGSHOT (3) will be tightened from his latest outing when 1st up in Qld from a one month freshen. Sent forward from a wide gate to find position, he was forced to retreat with no prominent spots on offer. He can be sharper.

MIZZ ADELE (8) made an error last start that ended her chances. Her 3rd at Marburg 3 starts back was a sound effort and although facing a tough gate here, can look for a sharper effort.

SELECTIONS: SWORD AND SHIELD (1), ONE OFF (9), SLINGSHOT (3), MIZZ ADELE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: SWORD AND SHIELD (1) to win

RACE THREE

MISTER FINNIGAN (7) will be relying on some factors in his favour, however if they happen to go his way, he can be ready to take the snipers shot. Buried 3 back against the poles last start when returning from a freshen, he was sound to the line when 8m in arrears. He can be ready to strike.

NIKALONG HENRY (5) pressed forward and was able to work to the front here last start and once in control had the arrows in the quiver to fight off the challengers. Only a head away behind HIGHVIEW FREDDY 2 starts back, that 2nd was sandwiched between wins. The gate stings but he cannot be dismissed.

MAYWYNS JEWEL (1) did a mountain of work when wide off the track here 2 starts back and despite the torrid trip arrived for a strong win. Beaten a half-head last start after setting the tempo, she will be gripping on.

JOVIAL JULIE (2) has placed at her past 3 starts, the latest when 3m in arrears of the swooping winner MONTEREY JACK. A passing lane 3rd to HIGHVOEW FREDDY  2 starts back, she can feature.

SUGGESTED BET: MISTER FINNIGAN (7) to win

RACE FOUR

DEVOUGED (4) was taken back in the early stages from gate 5 last start before working home wide off the track as PACIFIC COIN claimed the prize. Runner-up in 3 successive starts prior to that outing, he was within 2m of the winner 2 starts back from inside the 2nd line. He looks to get his chance.

LIVING GRAND (8) got on the grass last start when runner-up to MONTANA CHIEF at Kilcoy. Sent forward to occupy the breeze after starting inside the 2nd line here 3 starts back, he was grinding away when 3rd to MISTER COLE. Despite the 2nd line, he can challenge hard against this line-up.

GWENDALION (9) eased from gate 5 over the AP mile last time out and was facing a task as the power was on all the way in front. Solid to the line the start prior behind TORQUE ONETWOTHREE, she can be swooping late in this.

BUKTHSYSTEM (7) will need a slice of luck to fall his way from a tricky gate, but he loves the passing lane. Wide off the track last start over the 1780m trip, he can be slicing inside here.

SELECTIONS: DEVOUGED (4), LIVING GRAND (8), GWENDALION (9), BUKTHSYSTEM (7)
SUGGESTED BET: DEVOUGED (4) to win

RACE FIVE

TORQUE TO THE MAX (2)
did her share of early work last start and was game in holding on to be within 5m of the winner. Only 5m away from MISS CATALINA the start prior when claiming 3rd, she can look to fire some early shots here and if touching down in front, will take some catching.

DUKE (1) was locked away against the poles last start from inside the 2nd line when finishing 5m from the winner GHOST GUM. Snagged back over this trip 2 starts back, he was finding the line in nice style from a rearward position. Settling closer to the action, he can be ready to strike.

ABERCOMBIE TAB (6) has been runner-up at 5 of his past 7 attempts, the latest when chasing home behind the airborne ROUSEY. Striking trouble 2 starts back, he can overcome the tough gate to feature in this line-up.

RACE SIX

MY ULTIMATE LOUIE (2)
looks set to appreciate the conditions of this age restricted contest after meeting some experienced performers at his past 2 starts. Tough in the breeze when runner-up to ALI DOWNUNDER 2 starts back, he followed it with another silver when 1.5m in arrears of PACIFIC COIN. He can look to take control of this.

MY ULTIMATE HESTON (1) was wide in the early stages last time out when sent forward from gate 5. Finding the front before being collared in the closing stages, it followed a mid-field finish in a strong 2YO event claimed by DANCE IN THE SUN. From the gate he will get every chance to make a closing play.

WHATTA GOOD REASON (3) will be 1st up from a spell and lines up off the back of a tidy trial hit-out. Hitting the board in 5 of his 8 starts through his 1st campaign despite landing some tough gates, he can feature fresh.

MY CHINA DOLL (7) will take benefit from her latest outing when returning from a spell. Trailing them in behind ARMA AUGUSTUS, she looks set for a cosy run in transit here to chime into the exotics.

SELECTIONS: MY ULTIMATE LOUIE (2), MY ULTIMATE HESTON (1), WHATTA GOOD REASON (3), MY CHINA DOLL (7)
SUGGESTED BET: MY ULTIMATE LOUIE (2) to win

RACE SEVEN

This bout shapes as a great contest with the 2 in-form pacers with a string of wins both facing tough gates. Leaning in favour of ARMA AUGUSTUS (8) from his gate to make it 5 wins on the bounce following an easy victory last start after working home over the top of them. With wins at both the 1780m and 2040m in his streak, he can arrive in time here.

ROUSEY (7) might have the symmetry on her side as she seeks to land her 7th win in succession in race 7 from barrier 7. Never in danger last start when leading throughout over the 2040m from gate 3, it followed a late charging win when swooping late. The gate makes it tricky, but she will be throwing it down.

OUR ULTIMATE HANNA (3) started from this gate 2 starts back when securing running line cover prior to making the closing shot a winner. Runner-up to the impressive TARGARYEN last start, she can feature in this.

NESTERS HILL (1) fired off the arm last start to take control from gate 3 and once in control had enough in the tank to fight them off. With all the options from this alley, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: ARMA AUGUSTUS (8), ROUSEY (7), OUR ULTIMATE HANNA (3), NESTERS HILL (1)
SUGGESTED BET: ARMA AUGUSTUS (8) to win

RACE EIGHT

COULDNTMISAFALCON (3) was 1st up from a spell when tackling the AP 2138m trip and meeting an experienced field much stronger than this line-up. Fading out of contention, she had prepared with a pair of smart trials. Back to this grade from the good alley, she can look to open her account.

POPEYE RUSSELL (9) has no favours from the 2nd line yet should be further experienced from his latest outing. Pressing forward from gate 5 to race first over, he was grinding it out when finishing mid-field behind VERMONT. 8m from TIMENPATIENCE 2 starts back, he can make a play here.

BRISKET (2) was making his race debut last start when landing the 2nd line and finding it all a bit too much when fading out. With the benefit of a front-line alley, he can be sharper in this.

JOY TO ALL (7) has placed in 5 of her 10 career starts with all those placings here on The Triangle. Leading them up last start, she was grabbed in the closing stages when 3m in arrears and she will be probing for openings here.

SELECTIONS: COULDNTMISAFALCON (3), POPEYE RUSSELL (9), BRISKET (2), JOY TO ALL (7)
SUGGESTED BET: COULDNTMISAFALCON (3) to win

RACE NINE

Shooting for her 4th successive win since arriving in Qld, GINA TARANTELLA (7) will need to overcome the inside of the 2nd line. Starting from this same gate last week, she was away from the pegs early to get around the field before forging clear to an 18m victory. She can do it again in this.

CLARES FOOL (4) added another minor to his tally last start when runner-up over the AP mile. Sent to the front from gate 3, he was leading deep into the stretch before being collared on the line by subsequent winner SHEZ GOT BLING. From the gate he can look to throw down a challenge.

MAKINMEFEELGOOD (9) was 1st up for the Ryan Veivers barn last start when also returning from a spell. Eased from gate 5 to find position, he was sound to the line when 3rd and can place again.
