RACE TWO

ATOMIC PETE (4) is an Auckland Reactor 3YO making his race debut for trainer Dayl March. His preparatory trials suggest this type of race is within his reach with the most recent at Redcliffe where he tackled much more experienced rivals. He can open his account in style.

SCHOOBY (6) is the most experienced performer in this contest and as the lone 2nd line runner can look to get away from the pegs early if needed. Retreating from a wide gate last start, he as sound to the line when mid-field and his effort 3 starts back at Marburg can see him challenge in this line-up.

CRIME BOSS (2) backs up from Tamworth on Thursday when down the line. Still searching for a maiden breaking win, he can settle close to the action to make a play for a podium finish.

THE LAST STARFIRE (6) found the leaders back from gate 4 on the grass at Kilcoy last Sunday when holding on for the silver. The wide gate stings but he can be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: ATOMIC PETE (4), SCHOOBY (6), CRIME BOSS (2), THE LAST STARFIRE (6)
SUGGESTED BET: ATOMIC PETE (4) to win

RACE THREE

BIG BANG LEONARD (5) will take great benefit from his run last week at Kilcoy when resuming from a spell and a serious stomach operation. Closing in good order down the outside when grabbing the bronze, he will strip fitter for the run and can be making a closing play to feature in this.

ARTFUL MAID (4) resumes from a spell and was sent around in a Redcliffe trial to open the pipes ion readiness for her return. Her form tapered last campaign prompting the break, her effort 4 starts back a smart outing behind MIDNIGHT MAN. The small field suits fresh up.

MONTANA LAD (3) could not go with them when the sprint went on 2 starts back at Kilcoy. Backing up from Friday where he faced a tough gate over the 2138m distance, he can settle close enough to the action to figure in the finish.

SELECTIONS: BIG BANG LEONARD (5), ARTFUL MAID (4), MONTANA LAD (3)
SUGGESTED BET: BIG BANG LEONARD (5) to win

RACE FOUR

PACIFIC COIN (6) made the most of a good alley on Thursday when leading all the way over the 2040m trip at The Triangle. Forced to grind out a tough bronze there 2 starts back when facing the breeze throughout, he should find this no harder despite the tough gate and can capitalise.

HESLUVABLE (4) was angled to the pegs from a 2nd line gate and was soon chasing from a long way back last time out. Beaten by gate 6 the start prior when retreating, he scored in good style 4 starts back when finishing over the top of them at the Redcliffe 2040m. He can be working home late.

BE ON THE SLY (2) returns from a spell after being shutdown following a tough Winter Campaign. Pressing on to find the front over the sprint trip 3 starts back, he can show some early hustle to get into the contest early.

SELECTIONS: PACIFIC COIN (6), HESLUVABLE (4), BE ON THE SLY (2)
SUGGESTED BET: PACIFIC COIN (6) to win

RACE FIVE

This race is just a 1200m scamper and despite coming up with the outside front line MAJOR LUCKY (6) looks to have the class edge to get him home here. Not suited from inside the 2nd line at Redcliffe on Thursday, he was gunned down when setting the speed at Kilcoy last week in much stronger company. This is within his reach.

BIG GEM MONTANA (2) is a 2YO taking on the older horses like he did last week when holding on for the bronze behind MAGGIE. An all the way winner at Redcliffe 3 starts back when sent forward from gate 5, he can look to fire early bullets here.

FEELING THE POWER (1) has the solitary win to his name with that coming over 12 months ago. Asked to race tough last start as GINA TARANTELLA scored a commanding win, he was game when 4th at his 1st run back from a break at Redcliffe 3 starts ago. He has the gate to take his chances.

SELECTIONS: MAJOR LUCKY (6), BIG GEM MONTANA (2), FEELING THE POWER (1)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

OUR MAJOR DAY (3)
will be carrying the hopes of Warwick to keep the Cup on the Southern Downs. Pressing forward to find the front over the AP 2138m last time out, he had too many answers in claiming a smart win., Approaching a fitness peak after facing the starter on 5 occasions since returning from a spell, he can look to take his record to 2 for 2 on this track.

MAJORDOIT (2) will be sweating on what to do when the field is released with the option to dart down to the pegs available via the lack of a 2nd line. Tough when racing outside the leader last start, he was grinding hard when 1m in arrears of the winner. Rolling the sleeves at Marburg 2 starts back, he can challenge.

MONTANA CHIEF (5) has a perfect 2 from 2 record on the grass at Kilcoy and will take his place here after claiming victory 2 starts back when swooping home over the top to score. Not far away from the winner LITTLE CHANGE last start, he is a podium chance.

SELECTIONS: OUR MAJOR DAY (3), MAJORDOIT (2), MONTANA CHIEF (5)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR MAJOR DAY (3) to win

RACE SEVEN

MAGGIE (4) started her Aus career the best way possible when winning on debut on the grass at Kilcoy. Finding a handy position in the run, she had too many answers in cruising home to claim a 4m victory. Arriving with a solitary NZ win, she can overcome the tough gate to capitalise.

MISTER DECORUM (2) started from the 2nd line last start when finishing down the line after being sent to the post as fav. Over the Kilcoy 1820m. Struggling to find the right conditions, his latest efforts have been from tough gates and with the improved alley has a chance to claim this.

MISS CATALINA (6) found the right spot in transit 2 starts back and sent around them at the right time had the speed to arrive for a drought breaking win. Only 6m from the winner DOWNTOWN LUCCA last time, she can overcome the tough gate to feature.

SELECTIONS: MAGGIE (4), MISTER DECORUM (2), MISS CATALINA (6)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

TIMENPATIENCE (3) will take added experience from her latest outing when scoring a maiden breaking victory at Redcliffe at just her 3rd career start. Making an early error, she was soon buried o the pegs and when the passing lane presented, sprinted sharply to score. Successive wins are within reach.

HARRY CROFT (2) eased from gate 6 over the 2040m trip last start and was down the line when chasing as SHEZ GOT BLING arrived for the win. Capitalising on the good alley here, he can look to settle close to the action to throw down the challenge.

DARBY BRIGHTS (7) has finished as the runner-up at her past 2 in succession, the latest when beaten a lip at Redcliffe on Thursday from the pocket trail. From this gate she will be probing for open space.

LITTLEDEE (1) was a long way from the winner last start at Marburg but so was the entire field as GINA TARANTELLA blitzed the opposition. With the economic trip, she is a podium hope in this.

SELECTIONS: TIMENPATIENCE (3), HARRY CROFT (2), DARBY BRIGHTS (7), LITTLEDEE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: TIMENPATIENCE (3) to win
