Natalie Conner has today been announced as the Deputy Commissioner of the Queensland Racing Integrity Commission.

Ms Conner was formerly COO with the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, as well as holding several executive leadership roles in the past.

Racing Minister Grace Grace said that Ms Conner was an outstanding candidate who would bring a wealth of experience to the Commission.

“I’m really happy to announce Natalie’s appointment, following on from our announcement of Shane Gillard as our new QRIC Commissioner,” she said.

“Along with Natalie’s past executive leadership roles, she also has a Bachelor of Science (Honours) which will be particularly useful in this role.

“Her executive leadership experience with a focus on organisational transformation and stakeholder engagement will also be a great asset.”

Ms Grace said the QRIC’s focus would always be on animal welfare, transparency and integrity.

“The Commission works in partnership with the Queensland racing industry to uphold the Rules of Racing and to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to compete on an even playing field,” Ms Grace said.

“I’m really looking forward to working with Natalie as we continue to deliver a thriving racing industry for Queensland.”
