RACE TWO

Resuming from a spell, the lightly raced DANCE IN THE SUN (3) has put together an impressive strike rate that shows 5 wins from her 10 outings, all recorded here at The Creek. Last seen in the Qld Oaks from gate 6 when spearing out to an early lead before wilting, she can strike first up.

RECIPE FOR DREAMING (1) tackled a qualifier from gate 10 on Saturday night when making some good ground in the closing stages to finish midfield. Grabbed the start prior when setting the speed as SCOTCH EN ICE landed the prize, he has the gate to throw down the challenge.

GENERAL MONTANA (10) was a big winner here 2 starts back when sent forward from gate 6 to take control and then pull clear for a big margin. Placed behind BIG WHEELS last start, the gate stings.

DOCTA FEELGOOD (4) was a winner here 3 starts back from gate 2 where he was able to find the pocket trail and then land the wining blow. Placed in both starts since from tough gates, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: DANCE IN THE SUN (3), RECIPE FOR DREAMING (1), GENERAL MONTANA (10), DOCTA FEELGOOD (4)
SUGGESTED BET: DANCE IN THE SUN (3) to win

RACE THREE

ITZ BACK PAGE NEWS (1)
fired out from gate 7 to take control here on Friday and from the front led every stride bar the one that counted as she was grabbed by GOTTA GO MILKING on the wire. Asked to do a mountain of work that led to her fading the start prior, the gate is a huge advantage.

FUTURE ASSURED (4) resumes from a spell after his last appearance came in the 2YO Triad Final back in July when leading them up. Run over in the closing stages to be 6m from the winner, he has trialled in super order ready for the return in a race where the four 2YO’s can dominate the older opponents.

O B LEGAL (3) started from the ace last start and with the cosy trio in behind the speed after releasing, had the closing power to claim a 7m margin. He can be close enough to feature again.

MISTER REACTOR (2) used gate 1 to look for an all the way win last start when tackling the older horses and a 27.8 3rd panel was his undoing, holding on for 3rd. He can be in the mix from the gate.

SELECTIONS: ITZ BACK PAGE NEWS (1), FUTURE ASSURED (4), O B LEGAL (3), MISTER REACTOR (2)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FOUR

Placed in 2 of his 4 starts since resuming from a spell, CAPTAINS PICK (2) looks to have found the right conditions to claim career win number 5. Beaten by the 2nd line last start when unable to make an impact on the deficit, it followed a 3rd behind GENERAL MONTANA. Like a few doing battle here, the 2138m does pose a query.

FAIRIESDELIGHT (3) made the most of a drop in grade when tackling a Redcliffe contest last start, firing out to find the front and take them all the way with a slick closing 800m panel. Runner-up to subsequent winner MAJOR MISCHIEF the start prior, the 2138m may ask some questions.

HECTOR (8) should take benefit from his return to the track here last week following a spell, With just 2 starts last campaign after arriving from NZ, he has the 2nd line options to chime in here.

SHEZ GOT BLING (1) is an opportunist that will get the pattern to suit from this alley. Charging home here 3 starts back for the silver when just a half-neck in arrears, she will be tucked in behind ready to offer.

SELECTIONS: CAPTAINS PICK (2), FAIRIESDELIGHT (3), HECTOR (8), SHEZ GOT BLING (1)
SUGGESTED BET: CAPTAINS PICK (2) to win

RACE FIVE

This race looks a wide-open affair with just one contestant boasting a win in their past 5 starts. Last tasting victory back in August, SIR SEMPER FIDELIS (9) might just have the credentials required to claim this contest. Sound to the line last start, he was not suited from inside the 2nd line the start prior. Just needs a rub of the green.

TRACER BULLET (6) took on a tougher race last time from gate 5 when snagging back off the gate to settle in a rearward position. From there he never really warmed up as GOTTA GO MILKING took the prize which had followed a late closing 3rd over this trip. Despite the tough alley, he can challenge.

GO AWAY (5) has been to the well on 11 occasions this campaign and is yet to hit the board. Buried in the run last start, she never got into the contest. Facing some tough gates in recent times, she has podium claims.

STEEVEN (4) is the winner of just one race, his latest effort a sound return from wide off the front line at Redcliffe. Hitting the line in nice order in that contest, he can be thereabouts once more.

SELECTIONS: SIR SEMPER FIDELIS (9), TRACER BULLET (6), GO AWAY (5), STEEVEN (4)
SUGGESTED BET: SIR SEMPER FIDELIS (9) to win

RACE SIX

He comes up with the wide gate but with just the front line to contend with, GOLIGHTLY (7) will not have to worry about any second-line traffic. Chasing when 8m from the flying MAJORCA last time out, the start prior was much better than the figure return suggests. With some tempo he can arrive.

SCOTCH EN ICE (4) goes in search of a hat-trick of victories after wins at the 2138m and then last start over the mile. Finding the 1x1 trail from gate 5 here last week, he owned superior closing power to claim a 1.5m margin. Big the last 800m in winning the start prior, this is a rise in grade, but he will again be throwing it down.

OBI ONE (5) has been a model of consistency since arriving in Qld, hitting the board in all 5 starts. Runner-up at the past 2 in succession, the latest when 2m from MAJORCA. He can again make a play.

YEP GOT CHOOKS (6) was sent forward from the 2nd line last start to sit parked and after the tough run was still fighting to hold 3rd. Not far from KIWIS ARE FLYING the start prior, he has podium claims.

SELECTIONS: GOLIGHTLY (7), SCOTCH EN ICE (4), OBI ONE (5), YEP GOT CHOOKS (6)
SUGGESTED BET: GOLIGHTLY (7) to win

RACE EIGHT

Easing straight down behind the leader from this gate last start, THE SHADY ONE (2) chased in vain but still held on for the silver as HARPS claimed a slick win and has since franked that with a subsequent Saturday night victory. If close enough, he can make a winning strike.

BOHANNAN (5) eased from gate 5 last time to secure position and was winding up in the closing stages when finishing with the silver behind BEAU CISHOLM. Making an error the start prior that ended his chances, he is moving closer to a breakthrough win.

EH EF EL (1) chased home behind MAJORCA last start but could not challenge when 11m in arrears. Buried in the run the start prior, he should secure the ideal trip here to chime in.

SABRAGE (7) can fly out of the machine and displayed that speed last time when rifling out from gate 6 to the front before taking cover. He gets his chance to chime in with the sprint trip suiting.

SELECTIONS: THE SHADY ONE (2), BOHANNAN (5), EH EF EL (1), SABRAGE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: THE SHADY ONE (2) to win
