RACE TWO

There have been very few times in his superb career that GOVERNOR JUJON (1) has been able to display his gate speed. Landing the ace gives him that chance here and a return to this grade is also in his favour after stepping up against open company last start when solid behind NORTHVIEW HSUTLER. He looks the one to beat.

DEUS EX (9) was back in winning form last week to take his record here at The Creek to 4 wins in 6 outings. Sent forward from the 2nd line, he was wide and working in the run as a short-priced favourite and his class was on show in holding on for the prize. Despite the gate, he can throw it down.

SCARLET BABE (8) will be stalking the speed here and ready to show some stretch drive acceleration. Grabbing the bronze last week in open company, she was just a half-head away the start prior.

KASH US BACK (3) is one of those horses that always seems to be not too far away at the finish of his races. Attacking the line with power last start when 3m from DEUS EX, he can be chiming in.

SELECTIONS: GOVERNOR JUJON (1), DEUS EX (9), SCARLET BABE (8), KASH US BACK (3)
SUGGESTED BET: GOVERNOR JUJON (1) to win

RACE THREE

Hitting some strong form that included successive wins over the sprint trip EL AGUILA (3) has copped gate 7 and then the 2nd line at his past 2 starts. Angled to the poles from gate 9 last start, he chased hard to grab the bronze when 6m from BIG WHEELS. With a win over the airborne MAJORCA 3 starts back, he can look to control this.

ROCK FISHERMAN (8) started from gate 6 here on Tuesday when easing across to find the running line. Looming up in the closing stages, he was collared in the last strides by PACIFIC DRUMS. Sitting parked the start prior when holding 3rd, he will be probing for an opening to challenge.

STREITKID (7) is a gazelle out of the machine and is in search of a threepeat after winning his past 2 from the front. Both wins have been from gate 4 and with a smart record at the track can feature.

WESTAR SAM (4) is on the search for a hat-trick after successive wins at the mile, the latest when claiming a qualifier up the passing lane. This is a step up and the gate makes it tough.

SELECTIONS: EL AGUILA (3), ROCK FISHERMAN (8), STREITKID (7), WESTAR SAM (4)
SUGGESTED BET: EL AGUILA (3) to win

RACE FOUR

Leading into the Peak of the Creek Series, THE ROCKNROLL KING (10) had found some good form with 3 wins in his previous 5 starts before claiming a Heat of that Series. Not suited in the Final when asked to hang tough when parked, he has not been too far away in both starts since. This looks ideal.

SHADOW MINISTER (4) has been hitting the right areas in recent starts, the latest when leading all the way over the mile with 5m to spare on the line. Gunned down in the closing stages the start prior by the in-form SCOTCH EN ICE, he can settle close to the speed to challenge.

NOTORIOUS (5) did not have much go his way last start when looking for position and forced to retreat to get into the running line. A beaten fav the start prior when leading, his record at the distance is concerning.

THE IDEAL DANCER (3) claimed a 2nd division qualifier 3 starts back when securing the perfect trip in behind the leader. Placed in both starts since, including a gritty run when parked last week, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: THE ROCKNROLL KING (10), SHADOW MINISTER (4), NOTORIOUS (5), THE IDEAL DANCER (3)
SUGGESTED BET: THE ROCKNROLL KING (10) to win

RACE FIVE

Another tricky FFA where the early mapping will be vital to finding the winner. WILL THE WIZARD (3) might just be that early leader and if able to pinch a panel in front can look to sneak away with the prize. Eased into the running line last start, the chasers were always going to struggle, while not much has gone his way since blitzing the mile 5 runs back. Look for a bounce back.

NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (1) made the most of conditions here last week to pounce on the lead and once in control dictated a slick 54.2 closing half to make it impossible for the chasers. Luckless the start prior when carted back through the pack, he is in danger of being buried here, but will only need a sniff of open space to challenge.

TURN IT UP (2) took the trail at his past 2 starts and was able to run into the money with the easy trip in behind the speed. Just 2m and then 4m away on each occasion, he will be in the fight.

BLACKSADANCE (9) rolled forward and took hold of the race last start at the mile and kept the power on throughout to claim a PB mile of 1.50.9. Luckless when hitting the line nicely in the Qld Cup the start prior, he can be chiming in.

SELECTIONS: WILL THE WIZARD (3), NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (1), TURN IT UP (2), BLACKSADANCE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: WILL THE WIZARD (3) to win

RACE SIX

Working hard in the run last start when sent forward from the 2nd line, MOLLYS SECRET (8) continued to fight all the way and had enough in reserve to claim the silver behind MAJORCA. Buried away the start prior, she charged home in the closing stages to score and will be stalking and ready to strike in this.

MAGGIE (5) has landed some tough alleys at her past 3 starts, the latest when closing out in nice order for the bronze when 7m adrift of MAJAORCA. Chasing home from the 2nd line the start prior to grab another 3rd, she can look to settle close to the action to throw down the challenge.

JEWEL OF PEAK (1) was first to the pegs from gate 5 last start before releasing the airborne MAJORCA and finishing midfield. Working hard from gate 7 when sitting parked the start prior, the gate is a big plus.

FLIGHT CREW (7) has the wide gate resulting from her own manners and last start did not let it hamper her chances when pressing forward to sit parked and claim a tough win. This is a step up but she is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: MOLLYS SECRET (8), MAGGIE (5), JEWEL OF PEAK (1), FLIGHT CREW (7)
SUGGESTED BET: MOLLYS SECRET (8) to win

RACE SEVEN

BIG WHEELS (1)
is in search of a hat-trick of victories after wins at the mile and then last week claimed his first win over the middle trip when dictating in front and then closing it out in a 27.4 panel. He lands the ace for the 3rd consecutive start and can be rolling in front, making them chase.

SCOTCH EN ICE (8) has returned this campaign in fine fettle and completed a hat-trick of wins here on Tuesday when able to lead all the way. The 2 wins prior were from back in the pack when chasing and with the cosy trip on offer, he can be looking to take the snipers shot.

MANILA PLAYBOY (4) has been runner-up at his past 3 in succession, the latest when chasing hard from the running line behind BIG WHEELS. With even luck in transit, he can make another play here.

UNCLE SHANK (5) has a super record of 9 wins in 12 starts and loves the mile where he has been a winner at his past 4 in succession. Last seen when claiming the Peak of the Creek Final, he is right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: BIG WHEELS (1), SCOTCH EN ICE (8), MANILA PLAYBOY (4), UNCLE SHANK (5)
SUGGESTED BET: BIG WHEELS (1) to win

RACE EIGHT

There were 4 heats for this final held at Marburg last Sunday and one of those heat winners, BUKTHSYSTEM (9) can look to sweep the Series. Starting from outside the 2nd line in his heat, he powered home over the top for a strong win. With some front-line tempo, he can arrive.

SHDAYS DELIGHT (1) tried to take them all the way from gate 1 in his heat and after a steady 2nd stanza, put the heat on through the 3rd panel but could not repel the closing challenge of GOALKICKER. Not too far away from SHEREACTS the start prior, the gate is a big asset here.

MAGICOL IDEAL (3) overcame the 2nd line to claim a heat win, posting a 2m winning margin. A winner over this trip 3 starts back when leading throughout, he has the gate to make a play here.

GOALKICKER (7) has no favours from the wide gate, but she has worked herself back into some form. Placed in 3 of her 4 previous starts, she landed a heat win from the trail and can chime in.

SELECTIONS: BUKTHSYSTEM (9), SHDAYS DELIGHT (1), MAGICOL IDEAL (3), GOALKICKER (7)
SUGGESTED BET: BUKTHSYSTEM (9) to win

RACE NINE

It will be a rise in grade from what he has been meeting here in Qld, but CARNERA (2) has the ability to make the most of the 10m handicap. Shooting for a hat-trick of victories after he was too strong from the 40m last start and able to lead throughout from the mobile the start prior, he can cash-in.

DOUG (3) is an absolute enigma with his chances resting purely on his ability to step away. From the mobile start last week, he was eased at release from gate 7 before closing out smartly to grab the silver. That run suggested he is back in form; he just needs to master the tapes to challenge.

MATATOKI (1) is safe from the tapes and as the lone front-line runner should be in front in the early stages and have the benefit of choosing if he releases or tries to see it out. Either way he can feature.

CLAUDYS PRINCE (7) will need to overcome the 30m impost for this contest, but he has worked his way into some form. Just 2m from SIR FAHRENHEIT last start under mobile conditions, he can chime in here.

SELECTIONS: CARNERA (2), DOUG (3), MATATOKI (1), CLAUDYS PRINCE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: MATATOKI (1) to place

RACE TEN

Finding the front has proven to be beneficial to HARPS (4) who had victories in 2 of his past 3 starts when leading. Putting the power on throughout last start, he was able to lay out a new PB mile in 1.52.3 and keep them chasing. He steps up to the 2138m here and gets the chance to make them chase.

STOMPEM (5) started from gate 1 last time when beaten for speed and from the trail was close up behind the winner DEUS EX. Pressing on to take control the start prior over this trip, he was unable to see it out when fading. The gate is a little sticky, but he can challenge in an open race.

HANDSOME HERO (8) eased away from inside the 2nd line to find the running line last start and was charging home in the stretch when 2nd to HARPS. The gate makes it tough again, but he will be searching for a way clear.

FRANCO HAMPTON (6) was a winner 4 starts back when finishing best to claim victory in this grade. He has had his chance the past 2 and come up short when grabbing 3rd in each and is a place hope again.

SELECTIONS: HARPS (4), STOMPEM (5), HANDSOME HERO (8), FRANCO HAMPTON (6)
SUGGESTED BET: HARPS (4) to win
