RACE TWO

ELLE JAY (3) led them up last start from gate 2 when able to get away with a comfortable time of things in front. Unable to go on with it when the sprint went on, it followed her run here 2 starts back when beaten as the fav. With the early speed to find the front, she can turn around a long winless streak.

ITS YOU NOT ME (1) has been in the money at 3 of his past 4 starts, the latest a nice effort for the bronze at Marburg after showing some early speed in making an unsuccessful challenge for the front. Only 2m away via the passing lane the start prior, he will get the right trip to offer in this.

HOLLIE (6) doesn’t have any favours from the wide gate as she takes on the older horses. Working to the front last start she was game in holding on for the bronze and can be thereabouts once more.

KID CALVERT (8) has been the bridesmaid at his past 2 starts, the latest when doing the tough stuff in the breeze behind COUNTRY RUN. Grabbed in the closing strides the start prior, he can place.

SELECTIONS: ELLE JAY (3), ITS YOU NOT ME (1), HOLLIE (6), KID CALVERT (8)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

REAP THE REWARDS (4) will take further benefit from his latest start when 2nd up in his career. Landing gate 1 he pounced on the pegs in looking to take them all the way and was only nabbed in the closing strides by the swooping MISTER ARTIULATE. This is no harder and he can open his account in this.

FOREVER ROCKING (6) caught the eye last start when retreating from gate 7. Settling back in the pack, there was a bit to like in the way she was hitting the line. They were just too sharp in much stronger company over the AP mile 2 starts back and despite the tough gate, she can challenge.

FOUR FOR FOUR (1) returns following a break after a 2YO term that netted 3 placings from her 6 appearances. With a sound trial in readiness for her return, the gate is a big plus 1st up.

APACHE WHITESOX (7) will take some valuable experience from his last start race debut. Eased back from a wide gate, he followed the pegs in as sound effort to be mid-field. With an easy trip he can chime into the money.

SELECTIONS: REAP THE REWARDS (4), FOREVER ROCKING (6), FOUR FOR FOUR (1), APACHE WHITESOX (7)
SUGGESTED BET: REAP THE REWARDS (4) to win

RACE FOUR

BRIGHTON PRINCE (5)
will strip fitter following his return to kick off his 3YO term last start. Settling in the pocket trail from gate 1, they left him flat-footed in a sub 28 closing split. Runner-up in 3 of his 4 appearances here on the triangle, he can look to add a win to that record.

BAMBOLE NERE (1) sat in the pocket trail at Marburg 2 starts back when finishing best to claim the prize. Not suited when forced to work in the breeze last start, she will have the peg-line benefits here. With the easy trip, she can be coiled and ready to strike.

SCHOOBY (2) Found the front from gate 2 last start at Marburg and setting an even tempo in front was grabbed in the closing stages. With the speed to look to control it here, he will be gripping on.

CANNAN (7) steps out for a new trainer, coming to the track with the Murray Thomas polish here. Claiming the bronze at his past 2 in succession, he will get a soft trip and can make closing play.

SELECTIONS: BRIGHTON PRINCE (5), BAMBOLE NERE (1), SCHOOBY (2), CANNAN (7)
SUGGESTED BET: BRIGHTON PRINCE (5)

RACE FIVE

This race is wide-open and many of these are looking to resurrect some form. Fitter following 2 runs back from a break and returning to the Dixon barn, JAKES ARK (7) made an error last start which ended his chances. Buried in the run over the AP mile the start prior, he just needs some factors in his favour.

GIGANTIC JASPER (6) started from the 2nd line last start when finishing mid-field. 2 starts back, he was plain in finishing down the line. With good speed out of the machine, he might just have the required hustle to get across them early. Finding position cheaply, he can be thereabouts.

KOTARE KASAI (4) was only 4m from the winner last start after closing out nicely. Starting to work her way back into some form, she can be in the mix from this gate.

MODERN THOUGHT (9) was a long way back last start after retreating from gate 6 in the early stages. Trying to work into it late, she was sound to the line. This is no harder and she can place

SELECTIONS: JAKES ARK (7), GIGANTIC JASPER (6), KOTARE KASAI (4), MODERN THOUGHT (9)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (7) took on a qualifier last start when finding the pegs and a cheap run in transit was able to get within 4m of the winner in grabbing the bronze. With a soft trip available and following a good beginner, he can be coiled and ready to strike in the stretch when the gaps open.

CONDAFEW (5) was a tragedy beaten last start in a 2nd division qualifier when he struck trouble at a pivotal moment at the 350m when about to be shown open road to make his charge. Managing to make another charge, he was within 2 of the winners to finish in 3rd. With even luck he can chime in.

MISTER HART (8) was attacking the line in nice order last start in some strong closing panels to be within 2m of the in-form ALE ALE KAI. A smart winner here 3 starts back, he looms large here.

BEACH GODDESS (9) made a nice impression at her 1st Qld start last time out. Settling near the rear in a mare only contest after snagging back from gate 6, she was too slick late to arrive. She can repeat.

SELECTIONS: SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (7), CONDAFEW (5), MISTER HART (8), BEACH GODDESS (9)
SUGGESTED BET: SPRINGFIELD SPIRIT (7) to win

RACE SEVEN

JUSTA DALE (6) is on the two-day back up from tackling the AP mile on Tuesday. Settling back in the pack from his 2nd line gate, he packed too many guns in the closing stages to arrive for a smart win. Grabbed in the closing stages here 2 starts back, he can look to overcome the gate.

DONT CALL ME (8) resumes from a break and will be 1st up for the Elkins yard after featuring in a stable switch. Finishing 5m in arears after his last start here prior to the break when making an error soon after the start, he has been to the trials twice to open the pipes and stays under notice here.

GUTS (2) took on an easier contest last start from gate 5 and after pressing forward, was forced to race tough in the breeze. Not shirking the task, he was game when beaten a head. From the gate he can feature again.

NON PASSARE (7) started from this same gate last start and didn’t see the space when needed, finishing mid-field. Only 6m away the start prior, he will be probing for openings here.

SELECTIONS: JUSTA DALE (6), DONT CALL ME (8), GUTS (2), NON PASSARE (7)
SUGGESTED BET: JUSTA DALE (6) to win

RACE EIGHT

SHERIFF JUJON (7) looked a good bet last start over the sprint trip here when finishing 2m from the winner. Force to race tough in the breeze, he loomed up but was grabbed near the line. Within 5m of THATS HOW WEROLL in claiming 3rd in a qualifier the start prior, he can take the closing shot here.

TUESDAYS FELLA (1) started from gate 7 last time out in a 2nd division qualifier when sent forward. Receiving cover, the early work took its toll. Making an error 2 starts back, he was charging home 3 back to get within a neck of victory and from this gate he looks to get every chance.

SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (6) was 1st up for the new stable last start when hitting the line in good style to be 4m from the winner COLONEL JOY. Fitter for the outing, he can chime in despite the gate.

TWITTER BROMAC (8) will find this a shade easier than her last appearance when finishing in 5th position, yet only beaten a neck in a blanket go. Only 5m away in a tough mare race the start prior, she is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: SHERIFF JUJON (7), TUESDAYS FELLA (1), SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (6), TWITTER BROMAC (8)
SUGGESTED BET: SHERIFF JUJON (7) to win

RACE NINE

HEADWIN (1) had a dip for the front last start but couldn’t get across. From there he found cover and was sound to the line behind A RAINBOW DIAMOND. Only beaten a head the start prior when setting up a sizzling sub 55 last 800m, he can hold the front here and looks hard to run down.

COUNTRY RUN (9) found his race last start and with the right run in transit had too many bullets to fire in the stretch in claiming his 1st win in Qld. Only nabbed in the closing strides by MISS MONEYBAGS 3 starts back over the AP mile, with the right cart home, he can issue a late challenge.

A BETTER CHANCE (2) resumes to start her 3YO term after 4 outings at 2YO, the last of those a tough win from the breeze. This is a step up against some seasoned performers, but she has trialled in impressive order and she has podium claims.

BETTOR WATCH HIM (5) found the running line from the 2nd line last start and with cover in the run arrived to claim a half-neck victory. The wide gate hurts but he can be thereabouts once again.

SELECTIONS: HEADWIN (1), COUNTRY RUN (9), A BETTER CHANCE (2), BETTOR WATCH HIM (5)
SUGGESTED BET: HEADWIN (1) to win
