RACE TWO

Normally better suited up near the speed, KAPAI (6) showed last start that he does not need to lead when he chased hard from the 40m tape and swept up, cruised by, and claimed a 7m winning margin. Doing it from the front 3 starts back, he is in good touch and can look for a repeat here.

CONFISCATED (2) has featured in a stable change during his spell and resumes here to start his 3YO campaign under the care of Grant Dixon. Hitting the board in 5 of his 6 race appearances in his debut season that included a 2nd up win, he has trialled in nice fashion and from the front can challenge.

THE NIGHT KING (7) rolled forward last time out and eventually pressed on to the lead and from there held off the challengers to score. Only 7m away the start prior, he is in the mix again.

HATTIE (3) was 2nd up from a spell last time out when securing the pocket trail from the 20m tape. Grabbing 2nd behind the in-form KAPAI, she strips fitter and again from 20m can feature.

SELECTIONS: KAPAI (6), CONFISCATED (2), THE NIGHT KING (7), HATTIE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: KAPAI (6) to win

RACE THREE

In a race where just 3 of the 10 runners have scored a win here at The Creek and most are chasing form, it might just be the chance for WHERES TASCOTT (9) to claim her 3rd win on the AP oval. Not too far from the winner WHATELEY last start after rolling forward, she can strike in an open contest.

COUNTRY RUN (3) has placed in 3 of his 16 attempts here at headquarters and steps out after some solid efforts at The Triangle in recent outings. Eased from gate 6 last start he was deep in the pack when trying to mount a closing raid and settling closer to the action here can see him throw it down.

GO JO JOLT (6) was sent forward to sit parked last start over this trip and with a solid tempo set by the flying IM LOKI, she was unable to see it out. This looks more within her reaches.

JACKEROO SHANNON (8) will be requiring a slice of luck at some stage from this alley as he looks in danger of being hemmed away. Wide gates have stung at his past 2 and he will be probing.

SELECTIONS: WHERES TASCOTT (9), COUNTRY RUN (3), GO JO JOLT (6), JACKEROO SHANNON (8)
SUGGESTED BET: WHERES TASCOTT (9) to win

RACE FOUR

After ticking over two years since he last tasted success, the conditions might be in the favour of FORTES IN FIDE (8) here. Chasing CHARLEVOIX at each of his past 2 starts, he will be relying on getting to the passing lane with momentum and if he can do that, the win drought can be broken.

CHARLEVOIX (7) has worked his way into top form and shoots for the hat-trick after successive wins here at the mile where he has been able to lead all the way on each occasion. Starting fav in each of his wins, he has been able to dictate the tempo but faces a task to challenge from this alley.

RANCHO MAN (1) is at his best when able to roll in front and lands the marble to match his pattern. Taking them all the way here 3 starts back, he has been stung by the inside 2nd line his past two.

MI FURIOSO TORO (4) arrives in Qld with the Graham Dwyer stable and will be first up since August without a public trial in readiness. Placed in 2 of his past 3 starts, he stays under notice.

SELECTIONS: FORTES IN FIDE (8), CHARLEVOIX (7), RANCHO MAN (1), MI FURIOSO TORO (4)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-4-7-8

RACE FIVE

Tricky gates have made it tough for SIGNOR JUJON (4) to get into the contest in recent outings, his latest when easing for position from gate 7. Midfield in that battle as IM LOKI dictated in front, he has chased that in-form pacer at 2 of his past 3. If he can find the poles, he may just take catching.

ILLAWONG DREAMTIME (9) started from this same gate last start when settling back in the pack and unable to get warm in the closing stages. Runner-up here the start prior from gate 7 when chasing the flying SWEET SANGRIA, with the right trip in transit, he can strike if the tempo is right.

CROSSED LEGS (5) settled in the trail last start from gate 1 and then was trying to launch a closing rally when grabbing the silver behind the in-form CHARLEVOIX. The gate stings but she can feature.

OUR FRIEND (8) is approaching 12 months since his last victory and while his figures are not overly inspiring, he might just get the right trip here. Fitter from his last start off a freshen, he can podium.

SELECTIONS: SIGNOR JUJON (4), ILLAWONG DREAMTIME (9), CROSSED LEGS (5), OUR FRIEND (8)
SUGGESTED BET: SIGNOR JUJON (4) to win

RACE SIX

ITS SUPER EASY (8)
sat in the pocket trail last start and was waiting for the passing lane but could not reel in MAGICOL IDEAL after being sent out in red figures. Tailing them in the start prior over the 2138m, he should secure the perfect trip again and if he can get momentum can claim a tricky contest.

BONZA GUY (10) was a smart winner here 3 starts back when put on the engine from gate 5 and securing a steady opening half was able to put them away. Stung in the early stages when getting forward in a sub 27 opening panel last start, he can throw it down here despite the tough gate.

CHAL BE (1) will be 1st up in Aus after crossing the Tasman to join the Dixon stable. Arriving a three-time winner, he has trialled nicely where he was sent to the front from a wide gate.

LETTUCEROLL (9) resumes from a spell without the benefit of a public trial, his last appearance back in October when a half-neck from the winner. Victorious over the 2138m here 2 starts back, he stays under watch.

SELECTIONS: ITS SUPER EASY (8), BONZA GUY (10), CHAL BE (1), LETTUCEROLL (9)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE EIGHT

After successive wins here at the mile, the hat-trick proved out of reach for ALLSTAR SEA (1) two starts back when fading after being asked to sit parked outside the winner ISOLATION. Eased from gate 7 last start to find the poles, he chased hard for the bronze and with the gate options can bounce back.

WILLIEWA LIGHTNING (9) tried to take them all the way last start in a qualifier over the 2138m but was put away before the home turn, fading over the latter stages. A Tamworth winner the start prior when sent forward early from the 2nd line, he finds the right race to throw down a challenge.

TRACER BULLET (2) was on a heater with 5 successive wins but has been unable to hit the board at his past 3 starts. An early error off the 2nd line proved costly last start, but back to a tight gate, he can feature.

MAGGIE (8) tackled a mare’s qualifier 2 starts back where she was able to take advantage from gate 1 to lead throughout and hold on for a neck margin. Beaten by a wide gate on Tuesday, she will be probing.

SELECTIONS: ALLSTAR SEA (1), WILLIEWA LIGHTNING (9), TRACER BULLET (2), MAGGIE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: ALLSTAR SEA (1) to win

RACE NINE

Resuming from a spell in smart fashion, STRONG RESPONSE (3) has been able to claim victory in 2 of his 3 starts since returning. Pressing on to take control from this same gate last start over the 2138m, he was never in danger to claim a comfortable 7m margin. He steps up again here but looks up to the task.

HAMMERTIME HARLEY (10) is yet to hit the board in 4 appearances here at The Creek, the latest when claiming 4th behind a dictating SQUARE DEALER. A winner at her previous 2 in succession at Redcliffe in December, she will be fitter from the last start and can be making a challenge in this.

GELDOF (1) was a winner here 2 starts back when pressing on from gate 3 to sit parked and then grafting out a determined win. Runner-up last start when setting the speed, he lands the options.

LIFEOFBRIAN (5) faded over the closing stages last start in a qualifier which followed a tough effort when parked to finish midfield. He can roll the sleeves again here to feature.

SELECTIONS: STRONG RESPONSE (3), HAMMERTIME HARLEY (10), GELDOF (1), LIFEOFBRIAN (5)
SUGGESTED BET: STRONG RESPONSE (3) to win
