RACE TWO

Not much has been in the favour of HERBS HERO (9) in recent starts. Losing all his momentum from three back along the peg line last start, he never saw open road and went to the line untested. Strong to the line for the silver the start prior behind HEMSWORTH. The tempo looks right.

OUR BONDI BEACH (1) was left flat before the home turn last week and was being chased along, responding to an extent, finishing 7m from the winner PACIFIC DRUMS. Not suited the start prior when asked to do some early work, he has the gate to be poking through to challenge.

THE ANNOUNCER (10) had to roll the sleeves and do it the tough way when parked last start. Grafting away, he held on for the silver behind the leader and winner FOND MEMORIES and can feature again.

KINGOFTHESTARS (2) has worked his way back into some improved form after going through a flat spot. Runner-up two starts back, he was 3rd on Tuesday and can press ahead here to stake a claim.

SELECTIONS: HERBS HERO (9), OUR BONDI BEACH (1), THE ANNOUNCER (10), KINGOFTHESTARS (2)
SUGGESTED BET: HERBS HERO (9) to win

RACE THREE

Despite the display of some ordinary form numbers in his past three starts, THE ROCKNROLL KING (1) importantly comes up with a vast gate improvement. Luckless last week yet still unreeling a smart closing 800m split, he struck trouble the start prior that ended his chances. With the options, he can take this.

SOHO SINATRA (12) has been super at his past three starts to complete a hat-trick of victories, all delivered in a differing manner. Finding the front last week, he looked like his bell was rung before the 400m, but he lifted off the canvas to regain the lead and score a determined win. The gate hurts.

IT AINT THE MONEY (2) rolled forward from gate 5 to sit parked last week and despite the tough trip was still fighting on the line when 4m from the winner PACIFIC DRUMS. Claiming a strong win after looking cooked at the 250m and bouncing back, he has the gate to feature.

PACIFIC DRUMS (4) is in great touch with wins at three of his past four outings. From gate 10 last week, he owned superior closing speed to arrive for the prize and can be making a late play here.

SELECTIONS: THE ROCKNROLL KING (1), SOHO SINATRA (12), IT AINT THE MONEY (2), PACIFIC DRUMS (4)
SUGGESTED BET: THE ROCKNROLL KING (1) to win

RACE FOUR

This looks a tough race and several different mapping options present here to make it tougher. After a deserved passing lane win here on Tuesday SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (5) is going well enough to go back-to-back. Where he settles in transit is the query, but if close enough he can arrive.

YEP GOT CHOOKS (3) eased from gate 5 to settle near the rear las time out at the 2138m but could not warm up over the closing stages as subsequent winner SOHO SINATRA claimed the prize. Sitting parked two starts back- in December- when 4m from the winner, he can throw it down in this.

OMINOUS WARNING (1) is two runs into his campaign and has been faced with tough gates in each of the runs. With the improved alley, he secures the chance to claim his first win since 2018.

OBI ONE (8) found the 2138m and strong field fresh up too much to cope with here last week when trailing the field home. Fitter for the run and with an economical trip, he can be much sharper.

SELECTIONS: SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (5), YEP GOT CHOOKS (3), OMINOUS WARNING (1), OBI ONE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-3-5-8

RACE FIVE

Taking benefit from his return from a spell last time out, ROCK WITH SAM (4) should appreciate drop to this grade of contest. Tackling the open last start, he was not too far from the winner after retreating from gate 5, he had three trials to ready for a return and can claim a breakthrough.

SECRETAGENT TYCOON (1) returns from a spell after he was just a level below the top ones. Finishing behind the likes of SPANKEM and KING OF SWING at the end of his campaign, he has had a pipe opener at the trials and comes up with the ideal alley at his resumption.

SQUIRE (3) eased from a second line gate to find the poles last start and was keen in the run as GOVERNOR JUJON claimed the prize. From the gate he can be close to the action to feature.

OUR MAJOR DAY (2) has been kept fresh since his last appearance where he was 8m from ROCKNROLL ICON over the mile. A smart 2nd three starts back which followed a win, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: ROCK WITH SAM (4), SECRETAGENT TYCOON (1), SQUIRE (3), OUR MAJOR DAY (2)
SUGGESTED BET: ROCK WITH SAM (4) to win

RACE SIX

With front-line speed, a messy map and a number of winning hopes, this is a tricky mares race to nail down. BETTOR ROMANCE (9) has been runner-up at her past two in succession, the latest when pressing to the front from gate 3 and finishing 2m from the winner. With the right trail, she might just sneak home in an open event.

SHEZ GOT BLING (3) started from this same gate last week and with plenty of early hustle inside and out, she was soon near the rear of the pack and facing a task. 9m from PIPPA MAGUIRE the start prior in a stronger mare’s event, she can settle closer to the action to make a challenge.

JEWEL OF PEAK (8) led them deep into the stretch on Tuesday, only to be nabbed in the very last stride as SUGARKANE arrived off her back to score. Likely hemmed away here, she will be probing.

BETTOR MEMORIES (1) has not been too far away in recent contests and comes up with the right gate. Midfield over the 2138m here on Tuesday behind GOLDEN SAND, she can chime in.

SELECTIONS: BETTOR ROMANCE (9), SHEZ GOT BLING (3), JEWEL OF PEAK (8), BETTOR MEMORIES (1)
SUGGESTED BET: BETTOR ROMANCE (9) to win

RACE EIGHT

Sectionally strong in recent starts, MOLLIESMARYELLE (9) can look to follow through to settle handy to the action here. Eased from gate 7 on Tuesday, she was attacking the line in nice order behind HEAVENLY WISDOM making up good ground in the closing stages. The tempo looks right.

HEAVENLY WISDOM (4) kicked through from the inside on Tuesday to hold the front over the mile. Holding them wide, she was able to dial it up down the back and keep them chasing to hold a narrow victory. That was her first win in Qld and from the gate she can look to throw it down.

HAMMERTIME HARLEY (7) eased from gate 4 into the 1x1 trail in a mare’s qualifier here last week and was making a closing play to get within a head of the winner BLUE IVY. The gate makes it tough.

SHEZ ALL STYLE (6) started from inside the second line on Tuesday when hemmed away against the poles. Easing wider to be close up in a blanket finish, she can overcome the gate to be thereabouts.

SELECTIONS: MOLLIESMARYELLE (9), HEAVENLY WISDOM (4), HAMMERTIME HARLEY (7), SHEZ ALL STYLE (6)
SUGGESTED BET: MOLLIESMARYELLE (9) to win

RACE NINE

WILL THE WIZARD (2)
did not engage it any early speed battle last week, easing to the poles to be 3 back as L L COOL J set the speed. Chasing through along the passing lane to be within 5m of the winner, it followed a tidy effort after having his running checked two starts back. The gate gives him the opportunity to dictate.

L L COOL J (7) is given no favours from the car park and will at some stage be required to do his share of work to get into the contest. After walking them through the first six furlongs last week, the pace was electric with a sub 27 third panel and MISTERFREEZE nabbed him in the stretch. He can throw it down.

IDEAL WORLD (4) has been returning some slick sectionals that are not gathering any reward despite their consistency and quality. Chasing from the 1x1 trail last time, he will be trying to take the last shot.

MISTERFREEZE (6) slid straight in behind the speed here last week and had the cold sit on the leader L L COOL J. After some great runs in recent weeks, he was rewarded for his consistency by landing the winning blow up the passing lane. He can chime in again.

SELECTIONS: L L COOL J (7), WILL THE WIZARD (2), IDEAL WORLD (4), MISTERFREEZE (6)
SUGGESTED BET: L L COOL J (7) to win

RACE TEN

An even looking mare’s contest to dissect where a case could be made for every runner. Despite the wide gate BLISSFULL LILLY (6) might get the tempo to descend on them and sneak away with a drought breaking win. With some super closing sectionals in recent outings, a solid tempo will aid her cause.

AMERICAN FLYER (1) set the speed from this gate last week where she was able to get a 57.6 opening half but was a spent before the home turn. 6m from FOND MEMORIES the start prior, a return to mares only company with the chance to dictate looks more palatable.

HELLO ITS ME (8) made the most of gate 1 two starts back over the 2138m to take them all the way. Locked away last start as THREE IN HEAVEN arrived, she has the second line options to feature.

BLUE IVY (4) had the hustle to take control from gate 5 in a qualifier last week and once in control fought off the challengers to claim victory by a head. In nice touch, she is right in the mix once again.

SELECTIONS: BLISSFULL LILLY (6), AMERICAN FLYER (1), HELLO ITS ME (8), BLUE IVY (4)
SUGGESTED BET: BLISSFULL LILLY (6) to win

RACE ELEVEN

Eased out of the machine from the mobile start here last week, DOUG (8) was able to reel off some impressive closing panels in trying to chase down SIR FAHRENHEIT. The 40m was too far chasing the flying TAM OSHANTER the start prior and against this line up, he can look to bounce back with a win.

GARLAND GREENE (7) started from outside the front line under the mobile conditions here last week when sent forward to sit parked. Doing all the heavy lifting, he was fighting hard for the silver when 4m from SIR FAHRENHEIT. The chance to press forward and stay ahead of Doug will make him hard to stop.

VAN SANK (1) has his runs widely spaced and after two runs in January, has been back to the trials since his last appearance. Throwing his chances away last start with a gait break, he is up to this at his best.

MELPARK MAGIC (3) has hit form and lines up in search of a hat-trick after successive wins at the midweeks. Overcoming the 50m tape to score on Tuesday, he can be close enough to feature.

SELECTIONS: DOUG (8), GARLAND GREENE (7), VAN SANK (1), MELPARK MAGIC (3)
SUGGESTED BET: DOUG (8) to win
