RACE TWO

ALBION ARK (9) eased back from gate 5 last start and was facing a task with all the power on up front. The start prior he didn’t get the cleanest run in transit yet was only 8m away from the winner CUT FROM ROCK. He finds a winnable race here and despite the 2nd line looks the one.

CANNAN (4) broke his maiden tag over the Redcliffe sprint trip 5 starts back and since that win hasn’t been too far away. Holding on to 4th here 2 starts back behind the in-form JAMIES BAD BOY, he was chasing after being buried away from inside the 2nd line last start at Redcliffe.

TARGARYEN HANOVER (7) will strip fitter from his latest outing when 2nd up this campaign. Resuming with a credible 3rd on the grass at Kilcoy, his last start was good and he has claims.

ROCK THE HOUSE (8) came with a booming sprint last start down the outside of the track to score a smart win. He will need some luck this time from the same gate, but can be searching for gaps.

SELECTIONS: ALBION ARK (9), CANNAN (4), TARGARYEN HANOVER (7), ROCK THE HOUSE (8)
SUGGESTED BET: ALBION ARK (9) to win

RACE THREE

FOREST MAJOR (4) was 2nd up for the Lacey Hinze stable last start when he led comfortably from gate 4 and controlling a steady tempo was gunned down in the stretch. Fitter for the run after a 1st up outing at Tamworth when striking trouble, he can spear out here and be gripping on.

IL MAXIMUS (9) was snagged back from gate 7 last start when not too far away in a much stronger race claimed by ANOTHER STATEMENT. Things didn’t really go to plan the start prior and after 4 runs back this campaign, looks ready to show his best, finding a race that is within reach here.

VALKYRIE HANOVER (11) doesn’t have many favours from this gate, yet she was hitting the line in good style last time out when 3m in arrears of the winner. With even luck in transit she can place.

NESTERS HILL (8) will need a slice of luck to go his way from this gate, yet with the cosy run can be looking for the gaps and be ready to strike when they open.

SELECTIONS: FOREST MAJOR (4), IL MAXIMUS (9), VALKYRIE HANOVER (11), NESTERS HILL (8)
SUGGESTED BET: FOREST MAJOR (4) to win

RACE FOUR

It’s always a tough ask to win from the 12 over the mile here at AP, yet DOUBLE OR NOTHING (12) who makes his 1st Aus race appearance for Al Barnes looks to have some class about him. Arriving from the North Island of NZ with an impressive strike-rate, he trialled well enough behind some handy performers here to suggest this is within reach.

MISTER REBBILY (9) started in red figures last start from gate 4 and was forced to race tough when only fading in the closing stages to be 4m from the winner SIRIUS VICKI. Closing out from back in the pack the start prior in good style behind BLACKSADANCE, he can be chiming in here.

AMAYA BECOMES (6) returns to kick-off her 3YO term after a 1st season of racing that returned 2 wins and 3 minors in 6 outings. 3rd to JIGGLE AND JIVE last start in the Triad Final, she had a nice pipe-opener at the trials to prepare.

SOMEHOWSOMEWAY (3) started from the 2nd line last start and went within a whisker of victory behind CUT FROM ROCK. With good early hustle he can get across here and is right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: DOUBLE OR NOTHING (12), MISTER REBBILY (9), AMAYA BECOMES (6), SOMEHOWSOMEWAY (3)
SUGGESTED BET: DOUBLE OR NOTHING (12) to win

RACE FIVE

LEFT A HURRIKANE (3) chased hard over the mile here 2 starts back after releasing the lead to the winner MISS RUBY SINSHINE. Last start he was forced to roll the sleeves for the hard stuff outside the leader and only faded late through a sharp last 800m. The rise to 2138m is a query, but he looks up to it.

ROLL WITH NIKE (2) was stuck looking for position last start and was forced to retreat before finding the line in good order behind SIRIUS VICKI. Buried after releasing the front here 2 starts back, he really hit the line nicely and settling in a prominent position can be right in the fight.

COUNTRY RUN (8) led them up last start over the mile when grabbed in the closing stages and forced to settle for silver. Placed in 2 of 3 here at The Creek, he will be searching for gaps.

JUST ONE GOOD ONE (5) comes through that same race as COUNTRY RUN where he sat in the pocket trail to grab the bronze. Finding position cheaply look the keys to his chances in this.

SELECTIONS: LEFT A HURRIKANE (3), ROLL WITH NIKE (2), COUNTRY RUN (8), JUST ONE GOOD ONE (5)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

SIR TIGER (5) eased from gate 6 last start when trying to chase home in a 27.5 closing panel set in front. Under the circumstances it was a tidy effort to grab the bronze which had followed a sound effort over his less preferred 2138m. Slowly putting it together since being gelded, he gets a chance.

SIRIUS VICKI (3) found position from the 2nd line quickly last start and with a sharp 1st quarter set in front, she was able to power home over the top in the closing stages to score. Luckless 2 starts back when probing for space that never arrived. With the right trip she can throw down the challenge.

CHERRYS THE BEST (10) started fav last start from gate 5 over the 2138m and looked to be travelling well wide off the track when her chances ended with a break. The gate hurts but she is up to this.

HADLEY (1) has scored a pair of smart victories from 2nd line gates at his past 2 outings over the Redcliffe sprint trip. He steps it up here, but with a cosy run can probe an opening to chime in.

SELECTIONS: SIR TIGER (5), SIRIUS VICKI (3), CHERRYS THE BEST (10), HADLEY (1)
SUGGESTED BET: SIR TIGER (5) to win

RACE SEVEN

A frustrating horse to follow as he needs things factors in his favour, THATS HOW WEROLL (10) might just be able to secure them here to utilise his closing burst to arrive for the prize. A long way back in the pack last start he swooped into 3rd, which followed a run against his pattern. He will be swooping hard.

SPEECHCRAFT (1) started from gate 7 last start and struck trouble in the run that put him out of business. The start prior at Redcliffe he was wide and working when chasing in vain behind the in-form COLOMBIAN GOLD. With the peg-line benefits he looks to get his chance in this.

IM NO OUTLAW (7) doesn’t get any favours from this gate, yet he might just be able to find position cheaply enough to be a threat. Grabbed late when leading at his past 2, he can work home here.

ZARAS ALL GOOD (4) led them up last start over this trip from gate 1 but couldn’t hold off the finishing power of BETTOR BECAUSE. Completing a hat-trick of wins the start prior, she has claims.

SELECTIONS: THATS HOW WEROLL (10), SPEECHCRAFT (1), IM NO OUTLAW (7), ZARAS ALL GOOD (4)
SUGGESTED BET: THATS HOW WEROLL (10) to win

RACE EIGHT

LIVE ATOM (5) will be tightened from his return to the track last start when returning from a break. Sent to the front from this same gate over this trip, he controlled the tempo to score an easy 5m victory. Showing early hustle again here, he can take look to dictate once again.

MUCH BETTOR (11) used the shortest way home last start to grab the bronze in The Bill Dixon behind VIRGIL. A winner here over this trip 3 starts back when sent to the front and cruising home to score by 6m, he will need to be wide at some stage from this gate but will be challenging hard.

GASMONKEY (10) loomed up last start over the mile when working home wide off the track to go within a neck of victory. That was a much sharper effort and a similar effort can see him feature.

CAESARS ASTRUM (1) worked too hard last start and faded under the pressure after facing the breeze. Only grabbed in the closing strides the start prior, she can be in the mix from this gate.

SELECTIONS: LIVE ATOM (5), MUCH BETTOR (11), GASMONKEY (10), CAESARS ASTRUM (1)
SUGGESTED BET: LIVE ATOM (5) to win

RACE NINE

BIG BANG LEONARD (12) has been arguably in career best form and chalked up another victory last start in claiming company when sitting off a hot speed and powering over the top to score what was a comfortable victory. Dead-heating in 1.51 the start prior, he can be sailing home out wide again.

CHAPTER ONE (3) might have some ordinary numbers next to his name but things haven’t really been going his way of late. Angled to the pegs from gate 11 last start looking for some luck and short-cuts when mid-field, he was only grabbed late 3 starts back. He will be sharper in front here.

COLOMBIAN GOLD (11) has been marching her way through the grades and last start made it 5 in a row when zipping home in a sub 55 last 800m in front. She will be chasing here but can’t be ignored.

CASINO TOMMY (8) was hitting the line in good order last start and was only 6m in arrears of JUSTALITTLE TORQUE. Close up the start prior, he just needs some luck and space to challenge.

SELECTIONS: BIG BANG LEONARD (12), CHAPTER ONE (3), COLOMBIAN GOLD (11), CASINO TOMMY (8)
SUGGESTED BET:
