RACE TWO

COUNTRY RUN (8) has the 2nd line to overcome and is still searching for his 1st Qld victory, but he looks to have found the right conditions here. Locked away from inside the 2nd line last start, his run 2 back was good when only grabbed in the closing stages by MISS MONEYBAGS. This looks ideal.

LA BELLE CHEVAL (4) led them up from gate 3 over this trip 3 starts back and was only grabbed in the closing stages to go under a head. Buried away at her next start when grabbing the bronze behind WHATA REACTOR, she wasn’t entirely comfortable last start. Spearing out early, she can challenge.

JAMES THE JET (7) set a strong tempo in front on debut against some more experienced rivals when fading late. Closing nicely last start after retreating early, he will be probing for space to chime in,

HOLLIE (3) eased back last start and was too far back in the pack to work into it. Showing early hustle prior to releasing the front from gate 1 the start prior, she has podium claims against these.

SELECTIONS: COUNTRY RUN (8), LA BELLE CHEVAL (4), JAMES THE JET (7), HOLLIE (3)
SUGGESTED BET: COUNTRY RUN (8) to win

RACE THREE

It looks a case of holding the front and with limited pressure in the run then PATCHWORK JET (1) can look to go barrier to box for his 2nd career victory. Grabbed in the closing stages last start in a blanket finish when leading them up, he can light the lamps again and might have enough to hold on.

MADETOPLAY (10) finally found the right conditions to break her maiden tag here 2 starts back when finishing over the top from gate 6 to claim a tidy victory. Sent to the breeze on Monday at Marburg, she just faded the latter stages. With even luck in transit she can feature again here.

TEACHERS PET (7) chased gamely last start to be 6m from the winner after finding running line cover. Fitter for the run following 2 runs back from a break, the soft run on offer here suits.

PRIVATE JUJON (5) didn’t work into it last start from gate 10 which had followed a handy passing lane victory after securing the pocket trail in transit. The gate hurts but he can be swooping late.

SELECTIONS: PATCHWORK JET (1), MADETOPLAY (10), TEACHERS PET (7), PRIVATE JUJON (5)
SUGGESTED BET: PATCHWORK JET (1) to win

RACE FOUR

BEEJAYS DELIGHT (1) started from gate 4 last time out at Marburg and after unable to find position eased to go 3 poles. From there it was a tidy effort to finish 7m from the dictating winner TARGARYEN HANOVER. Closing out in good order the start prior from a long way back, he has the options to capitalise here.

SUGARKANE (6) was sent to the breeze last start from gate 5 and with the tempo on throughout faded in the latter stages. Cruising home to zoom on past here 2 starts back in what has proven to be a nice form race, if she can find position cheaply here, a challenge can be issued in the stretch.

ZARAS HEAVEN (7) eased back from a wide gate last start and was a long way back when looking to work into the contest. Beaten a lip the start prior, she will need some luck form this gate.

KWASII (4) led them up last start over the sprint trip when setting a solid tempo but couldn’t see it out. Only 2m away when grabbed late the start prior, he can fire out an be gripping on again here.

SELECTIONS: BEEJAYS DELIGHT (1), SUGARKANE (6), ZARAS HEAVEN (7), KWASII (4)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-4-6-7

RACE FIVE

With placings in 4 of 7 starts this campaign, MONTANA EXPRESS (10) looks to have found his race here. Drawing gate 10 as a result of his early manners, he has been runner-up at his past 2 starts, on both occasions sent to the post as fav. With the ability to work in his races, he looks to have the strength edge here.

A ROCKNROLL LEGACY (9) pressed on to find the breeze from gate 5 last start as the fav over the 2040m. With a steady tempo through the early stages, he couldn’t go with them when the sprint went on in finishing mid-field. Back to the sprint trip is in his favour and he won’t be far away.

THE LAST DRAGON (1) has landed some tough gates in recent starts that have worked against him. With the improved gate this time around, he can get the right trip and has podium claims.

SHADYS DELIGHT (8) is still chasing what is proving an elusive 3YO victory after placing in 4 of 9 this term. Landing another tough gate after landing the 2nd line in his past 3, he can chime in late again.

SELECTIONS: MONTANA EXPRESS (10), A ROCKNROLL LEGACY (9), THE LAST DRAGON (1), SHADYS DELIGHT (8)
SUGGESTED BET: MONTANA EXPRESS (10) to win

RACE SIX

CANDYFLOSS (3) held on to finish mid-field last start after racing in the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line and finishing 9m from the winner. Luckless the start prior when wide and searching for position before snagging back, she can look to press forward here and might just be able to pinch it.

GHOST GUM (1) has been thereabouts in recent starts with placings in 3 of his past 5 appearances. Sent to the pegs looking for short-cuts last start, he found the line nicely when 4m from the winner. With the options and benefits from the ace gate, look for the ghostly grey taking inside runs.

WILLSINTOWN (7) rolled forward from gate 6 last start and found running line cover before closing out to grab the silver. Likely to be buried in the run, he will be probing for the space to chime in.

BETTOR WATCH HIM (9) is better served when closer to the pointy end, but can be making a late offering here, like his last start when only 4m in arrears after working home from this same gate.

SELECTIONS: CANDYFLOSS (3), GHOST GUM (1), WILLSINTOWN (7), BETTOR WATCH HIM (9)
SUGGESTED BET: CANDYFLOSS (3) to win

RACE SEVEN

PURE CHARISMA (9) was a winner here 3 starts back when rolling to the breeze form gate 5 and packing too many guns to claim a 2m victory. Forced to do it the tough way at her next start from gate 5, she took on a mares qualifier last start in strong time. Back to the triangle looks ideal here.

IMPETUOSO (3) was a winner here 5 starts back when pressing forward from gate 5 to settle in the breeze and prove too strong in claiming a 5m victory. All 4 starts since that victory have been from the 2nd line and with the return to the front line, look for him to be much sharper here.

ANNAS BEST (1) settled in the running line from gate 7 at Marburg last start and held ground to the line to finish mid-field. With the peg-line benefits, she can be close enough to be in the money.

PACIFIC COIN (6) was buried away from inside the 2nd line last start when 6m from the winner JOVIAL JULIE. Too far back at Tamworth the start prior, he will need some luck but is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: PURE CHARISMA (9), IMPETUOSO (3), ANNAS BEST (1), PACIFIC COIN (6)
SUGGESTED BET: PURE CHARISMA (9) to win
