RACE TWO

MONTANA PRIDE (5) takes his 1st look at the Kilcoy surface and arrives with 1 win from his 6 career starts. Holding the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line, he finished best to claim the prize at his lone win 4 runs back. 1st up from a freshen last start, TARGARYEN blew the field away out in front and fitter again, this looks a more suitable assignment.

AURORA ROSE (2) has landed some tough gates in recent outings that has done her no favours. Eased from gate 5 over the Redcliffe sprint trip last start, she was too far back in the pack to make a play. With the improved alley here, she can settle near the action to make a challenge for the prize.

WHATA REACTOR (9) did some early work to secure position last start before cover arrived but then could not match them late as MAYWYN TROUBADOR powered away to a big win. With even luck in transit, she can chime in.

SCHOOBY (8) has placed in both his appearances here at Kilcoy, the latest back in December when holding on for 3rd. Down the line behind RAYONG PRINCESS last start, he is a rough place hope here.

SELECTIONS: MONTANA PRIDE (5), AURORA ROSE (2), WHATA REACTOR (9), SCHOOBY (8)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

WESTERN SHOWGIRL (10)
has been dealt a blow with the tough gate, but her 2 runs back from a let-up suggest that if the tempo is even/strong up front, she can make the sweeping play a winning one. Holding on to claim a 5m victory when leading throughout last start, it followed a tidy 2nd after landing gate 7 over the AP 2138m trip. This looks well within reach.

A ROCKNROLL LEGACY (4) has not been seen since his last start here back in December when finding the pocket trail from gate 5 before wilting in the latter stages behind BEEF CITY STARZZZ. Working hard in the run the start prior over the 2040m, he can press forward here to throw down a challenge.

ITS YOU NOT ME (1) brings up the milestone of 300 race starts at Redcliffe on Thursday and can back it up here with a solid performance. One of the most experienced Kilcoy performers with 10 previous starts, he has the gate to feature.

GLENCOE REIGN (2) has been to the track twice since returning from a spell with both outings coming from the 2nd line. Back to the front-line suits and he might just find some space to squeeze in for a trail which would put him in contention.

SELECTIONS: WESTERN SHOWGIRL (10), A ROCKNROLL LEGACY (4), ITS YOU NOT ME (1), GLENCOE REIGN (2)
SUGGESTED BET: WESTERN SHOWGIRL (10) to win

RACE FOUR

Heats for this Final were held back in December and the most impressive winner of those 2 heats has come up with the ace. GOSLING IN FLIGHT (1) was content to settle off the speed from gate 2 before charging clear to claim a 21m victory. Given one run since the heat where he was forced to cut the breeze at Redcliffe, he looks to get all the favours for this.

MAJOR LUCKY (7) was able to take control out in front in his heat and fighting off the challengers held on to score a narrow victory over CANNAN. Down the line in 2 outings since that win, the latest was over the AP mile when easing from gate 7 before closing out soundly. Chasing through, he can look to make a closing play.

CANNAN (5) finished down the line last start in the Final of a Redcliffe heat and final series after trying to work home wide off the track. The wide gate stings here, but he has podium claims with even luck in transit.

WAVEDANCER (8) held the pocket trail behind the leader in his heat when holding on for the bronze. Only 1m in arrears of the winner at his next appearance, he can look for the cheap run here to chime in.

SELECTIONS: GOSLING IN FLIGHT (1), MAJOR LUCKY (7), CANNAN (5), WAVEDANCER (8)
SUGGESTED BET: GOSLING IN FLIGHT (1) to win

RACE FIVE

CRIME BOSS (3)
is moving ever closer to a maiden breaking win after placings in 4 of his past 7 starts. On Wednesday night at Redcliffe, he fired out from gate 1 to lead them up and despite being challenged, he responded and was within 1 metre of the winner. Only a head away the start prior over the 2040m trip, he might just have found his race.

ILLBEWATCHING (8) looked a good chance for a breakthrough at Redcliffe on Thursday after placing in 4 of his previous 5 outings. Best of the chasing pack behind the big winner MAYWYN TROUBADOR 2 runs back, he can get a nice trail through here and in this line-up can throw down a challenge.

GROOVY MISS ANNIE (7) will need a slice of luck from this gate as she looks set to be locked away in transit. Buried last start in a much stronger contest when mid-field to SUNNY RICE, she can be probing for openings.

CHEYENNE AUTUMN (4) has a smart record here at Kilcoy, hitting the board at all 3 outings with 2 wins and a 2nd. Runner-up 3 runs back when close-up behind the winner, she is right in the mix.

SELECTIONS: CRIME BOSS (3), ILLBEWATCHING (8), GROOVY MISS ANNIE (7), CHEYENNE AUTUMN (4)
SUGGESTED BET: CRIME BOSS (3) to win

RACE SIX

GOLIGHTLY (2)
will strip fitter from his latest offering when returning from a 5-month break. He may have been closer with clearer track but was never really a threat behind the strong winner BETTERTHANDIAMONDS. A winner at both runs prior to the spell, he has the class to capitalise.

MAGGIE (5) has been to the track 3 times since arriving in Qld with 2 of those outings on the grass here and at Warwick. Scoring strong wins in both those assignments, she made errors in the run last start that ended her chances. With a pair of smart trials to iron out the kinks, she can bounce back.

BIG GEM MONTANA (7) tackled the AP mile last start when settling in the running line before powering home over the top to claim a smart win in a new PB rate. With an economical trip, he will be searching for a way clear in this.

IMA BEACH BABE (4) tried to take them all the way from gate 4 over the mile 2 starts back and was digging in for the fight only to be gunned down in the last strides. Backing up from Friday, she has a win at her only outing here and can feature again.

SELECTIONS: GOLIGHTLY (2), MAGGIE (5), BIG GEM MONTANA (7), IMA BEACH BABE (4)
SUGGESTED BET: GOLIGHTLY (2) to win

RACE SEVEN

HIT THE TRACK (1) is 1 from 1 on the grass with a win at Orange when formerly prepared in NSW. Wide gates have been costly to his chances in recent starts, the latest when chasing from the 2nd line as the leader dictated to an easy victory. Runner-up to the smart GOING FOR GOLD 3 starts back, the improved gate is a huge plus here.

CAMROLLER (5) has slowly been working his way back into form and last start over the 2040m at Redcliffe was able to squeeze in behind the leader for the trail when holding on for the silver. Not that far behind the flying LA PLAYER a few runs back; he can look to make a challenge here.

SUKI DAYO (10) resumes from a break to kick off her 4YO term after being shut down following the G2 3YO Fillies Triad. A tidy winner in front 2 starts back at Redcliffe, she was given an easy trial in readiness for the return.

MONTANA LAD (7) has been here to Kilcoy on one occasion when missing the board. He should be tightened for this assignment following 2 runs back from an ease-up and with the right trail can feature.

SELECTIONS: HIT THE TRACK (1), CAMROLLER (5), SUKI DAYO (10), MONTANA LAD (7)
SUGGESTED BET: HIT THE TRACK (1) to win
