RACE TWO

Relishing the opportunity to return to a front-line gate last start, DEUS EX (2) fired off the arm to take control and was never in danger over the 2138m trip. Putting it out of reach of his opposition when sizzling home in 54.2, he can look to get in front here and dictate.

SPEECH IS SILVER (6) was last seen in the Christmas Cup when settling in the running line and not receiving the smoothest passage to finish midfield to TURN IT UP. Charging home when a gap opened to take the Lord Mayors Cup the start prior, the small field is ideal for his pattern and he will be winding up to challenge.

MAYWYNS COURAGE (1) took full advantage once in front here last week when backing it off in the 2nd stanza before really dialling it up to put it out of reach of the chasers and claim a smart win. The gate is a big plus.

SELECTIONS: DEUS EX (2), SPEECH IS SILVER (6), MAYWYNS COURAGE (1)
SUGGESTED BET: DEUS EX (2) to win

RACE THREE

Despite lading the outside of the front line for this contest and searching for his first win since August, KASH US BACK (7) should appreciate finding a race of this grade. Retreating from this same gate last start as DEUS EX controlled it, he was too far back to feature. Sectionally his runs have had merit and his class can tell the story.

CAPTAINS PICK (1) was looking to make it 4 on the bounce last start when taking on a qualifier and sent to the post as the favourite. Unable to muster the early speed from gate 4, he was eased to the pegs and probing for luck finished midfield to LE TISSIER. The gate and trip give him a chance.

MUCH BETTOR (2) comes up with options here to dart straight down to the poles or stay in the running line. Making a closing dive up the passing lane at Redcliffe last start, he came up just short and can feature again.

TAROONA BROMAC (5) will take some benefit from his last start when stepping out for Ron Sallis for the first time. Repelled early and forced to retreat, as THE ANNOUNCER arrived, he is right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: KASH US BACK (7), CAPTAINS PICK (1), MUCH BETTOR (2), TAROONA BROMAC (5)
SUGGESTED BET: KASH US BACK (7) to win

RACE FOUR

After easing to find position from the middle of the line here last week, DELIGHTFUL LOU (3) was like most of the chasers and unable to make ground on the leader and winner TORQUE TOTHE MUSIC. Runner-up the start prior to HECTOR, she can settle closer to the action to capitalise.

ROSES ARE SWEET (4) worked off the fence from inside the 2nd line here last week to find the 1x1 trail in the run but when asked to make an impression, could not eat into the deficit, finishing 6m away. Taking advantage of a sizzling tempo to score at Redcliffe 2 starts back, she can challenge.

BEACH MAGIC (7) resumes from a spell to start his 3YO term after breaking through at his 5th career start when claiming a gritty win here back in August. With a sound trial, he can chime in fresh.

MISTER CAUTIOUS (5) will be tightened from his last outing where he was asked to sit parked and was in for the fight when within 3m of the winner TORQUE TOTHE MUSIC. He is right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: DELIGHTFUL LOU (3), ROSES ARE SWEET (4), BEACH MAGIC (7), MISTER CAUTIOUS (5)
SUGGESTED BET: DELIGHTFUL LOU (3) to win

RACE FIVE
KOOKABURRAPRINCESS (3)
made a mess of the early stages last start and was left chasing the mobile to be in position by the time the starter released the field. The chase took its toll, but the effort was massive to get within 2m of the winner. From the gate she gets the chance to atone.

RANCHO MAN (8) made the most of the ace gate last start when taking control in the early stages and then keeping them chasing to hold on for a 3m victory. Taking added benefit from the outing, which was his third run back from a spell, he can be probing for the gaps to make a challenge here.

JUST ONE GOOD ONE (5) was a Redcliffe joint winner 2 starts back when settling in the trail from inside the 2nd line and sharing the win. Wide off the track last start behind subsequent winner TICK OF THE CLOCK, he can chime in.

MOLLIDOR (1) eased from gate 5 last start and was soon near the rear and unable to get warm over the closing stages. Gunned down in front here 2 starts back when fading, a cosy trip can help.

SELECTIONS: KOOKABURRAPRINCESS (3), RANCHO MAN (8), JUST ONE GOOD ONE (5), MOLLIDOR (1)
SUGGESTED BET: KOOKABURRAPRINCESS (3) to win

RACE SIX

In a race where a few of these may be vulnerable at the middle-distance, WOODLANDS WONDER (3) can look to make the most of his good alley to be in a prominent position. Tough when holding on for the silver here 3 starts back behind VALENCIA, he looks to have found conditions to capitalise.

AYE AYE CAPTAIN (9) has hit the board in 3 of his past 4 starts, the past 2 when claiming the silver. Sent forward from gate 5 to take control at Redcliffe last start, he was trying to fight them off when 2m from the winner. Beaten a similar margin the start prior when chasing, he can throw it down.

HIGH ON MONTANA (10) is shooting for a hat-trick after a Redcliffe victory was franked with a Marburg demolition when leading and pulling clear to a huge 23m margin. The gate and distance sting.

MAYWYN TROUBADOR (7) will take good benefit from his return to the track here last start when sent forward to sit parked and fighting on for 3rd. The distance is the big concern but if he can take control cheaply, he can give some cheek.

SELECTIONS: WOODLANDS WONDER (3), AYE AYE CAPTAIN (9), HIGH ONO MONTANA (10), MAYWYN TROUBADOR (7)
SUGGESTED BET: WOODLANDS WONDER (3) to win

RACE EIGHT

Completing a threepeat of victories last start when winning from this same alley IM JIMMY JAMES (10) will be hoping the tempo is strong to allow him to make the closing play. Finishing over the top at the end of the 2138m trip last start, it followed successive Redcliffe wins and while this looks another step up, there was some class with his last win.

TRACER BULLET (9) just continues to hit the target, scoring again here last start to make it 5 wins in succession. Settling in the 1x1 trail over the 2138m, he made his move and loomed up strongly to claim a 1m victory. The previous 4 wins were at the mile and his form cannot be ignored.

JAY TEE TYRON (1) was sent to the post as the favourite last start from gate 4 where he was able to slot into the 1x1 trail. Finishing 7m from the winner MONGOLAIN CONQUEROR, the improved gate is a big plus.

CALL ME KEITH (5) pressed on to take control over the 2138m last start and once in front fought off all challengers to claim a smart 7m victory. 3rd when 5m from CAPTAINS PICK the start prior, he is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: IM JIMMY JAMES (10), TRACER BULLET (9), JAY TEE TYRON (1), CALL ME KEITH (5)
SUGGESTED BET: IM JIMMY JAMES (10) to win

RACE NINE

Making his first appearance for the season, MOHS EM DOWN (5) slides in one gate closer than his last outing when finishing within 2m of the winner SPIKE BROMAC which could have been a smaller margin with a smoother passage. Fading after being sent forward from the 2nd line the start prior over 2138m, he looks to have found the race to strike.

DIKERRY (9) can be forgiven for his last start when he was asked to sit parked over the 2138m trip and faded in the closing stages. Placed in successive outings at his first two appearances in Qld when within 3m of the winner in each, he can look to make a closing challenge.

MAJOR GENERALJUJON (3) is slowly working his way back into form with his past two starts much improved efforts. Strong to the line last start behind FOUR STARZZZ FORSA, he can chime in here.

COURAGEOUS SAINT (7) will take good benefit from his return from a spell here last week. Easing from this same gate, he was strong to the line in some nice sectionals and can chime in again.

SELECTIONS: MOHS EM DOWN (5), DIKERRY (9), MAJOR GENERALJUJON (3), COURAGEOUS SAINT (7)
SUGGESTED BET: MOHS EM DOWN (5) to win

RACE TEN

Still searching for his first victory since arriving in Qld, THREE IN HEAVEN (1) might just have found the right conditions. Forced to make a wide run from back in the pack last start, he copped a wheel under the legs at the top of the straight when making a charge as LE TISSIER cashed in. Beaten a lip when leading from this gate 2 starts back, he will be gripping on.

B MAC C (8) should secure the ideal passage from this alley and be ready to take the snipers shot. He found it out of reach last start from a wide gate as EL AGUILA dictated a slick mile and the start prior the run was sound after retreating from gate 4. He will be stalking the speed in this.

REGULUS (7) returns to Qld to join a stable in form, lining up here for Ben Battle. Last seen back in October at Bendigo when not too far from the winner, he has opened the pipes with a tidy trial.

BITCOIN (9) will be fitter again from his latest appearance when 2nd up from a spell. It wasn’t the smoothest passage over the Redcliffe sprint trip where he was 7m in arrears and the pegs could be the place to chime in.

SELECTIONS: THREE IN HEAVEN (1), B MAC C (8), REGULUS (7), BITCOIN (9)
SUGGESTED BET:
