RACE TWO

A mile specialist that likes to be on speed, the early stages will be important for MAYWYNS COURAGE (4) to find a position close to the action. With the 1 a fast beginner, he might be able to create space to drop into the trail. Too slick out in front 2 starts back, he ran DEUS EX to 1m last start, and this is well within his grasp.

ROLL WOTH ROCKY (1) has hit some form and comes up with the great alley to look to optimise his speed out of the machine. Taking them all the way last start in mid-week company from gate 6 for an easy win, he has wo 3 of his past 4 starts and while this is a step up, the gate is a big plus.

CHEESANDKISSES (8) was angled to the pegs here on Tuesday and with the cosy trip was only 4m from the winner. Another economical trip beckons and she can be probing late to chime in.

FOND MEMORIES (9) will take benefit from her return from a freshen here last week when settling in the trail from inside the 2nd line and holding 2nd behind VOODOO LOU. Early tempo will help.

SELECTIONS: MAYWYNS COURAGE (4), ROLL WOTH ROCKY (1), CHEESANDKISSES (8), FOND MEMORIES (9)
SUGGESTED BET: MAYWYNS COURAGE (4) to win

RACE THREE

Beaten by gate 12 and the middle trip last start, a return to the front line at the mile can see SAUCY DREAMS (2) bounce back into winning form. Angled to the poles from gate 5 here 2 starts back, she was picking up some late ground when just 3m from the winner MAYWYNS COURAGE.

OUR ROAD TO MECCA (6) was sent to the post as the favourite at her first look at the track here last week from gate 2. Finding the front through a steady opening half of the 2138m, she was gunned down in the closing stages. The wide gate dampens her chances, but she can throw it down.

BITCOIN (8) has now had 4 runs back from a spell and been showing gradual improvement at each outing. Hitting the line in nice order here on Tuesday to grab 2nd, he will be probing for openings.

BLISSFULL LILLY (1) settled in the pocket trail from inside the 2nd line last start and the easy trip helped in finishing in 2nd behind BELLA BALL TERROR. With a similar trip she has podium claims here.

SELECTIONS: SAUCY DREAMS (2), OUR ROAD TO MECCA (6), BITCOIN (8), BLISSFULL LILLY (1)
SUGGESTED BET: SAUCY DREAMS (2) to win

RACE FOUR

With the benefit of the good gate, this looks the last race that GOVERNOR JUJON (2) can pick up in this grade on his way to graduating as a fully-fledged open company performer. Working hard sitting parked outside L L COOL J last start, he has been a half-head and half-neck away the past 2 times he has been required to race in FFA grade. He has the class to put them away.

DEUS EX (9) was deep into the red last start from gate 2 and put straight on the engine was able to hold on for a narrow victory after ripping home in 54.5 for the last 800m. His past 2 wins have been from the front and while that will not be an option, he can throw down the challenge chasing.

OHOKA CHOPPER (1) shoots for the hat-trick after wins over the Redcliffe 1780m and then here over the 2138m. Owning the best closing speed up the passing lane last start, he will be stalking them.

JONAH JONES (8) has been runner-up at his past 3 in succession and although he faces a rise in grade to tackle this, punching through on the pegs will be the optimum place to be.

SELECTIONS: GOVERNOR JUJON (2), DEUS EX (9), OHOKA CHOPPER (1), JONAH JONES (8)
SUGGESTED BET: GOVERNOR JUJON (2) – Exotics 2 / 1-8-9

RACE FIVE

GET READY TO ROCK (6) was sent forward from this same alley last start and after receiving cover was unable to go on with it in the closing stages. The inside 2nd line was her undoing the start prior and despite coming up with the tough gate, this is open enough for her to stake a claim.

SHEZ GOT BLING (2) has worked her way into some form with placings in her past 3 starts, including a neck margin in one of these qualifiers last week. Backing up for a 2m margin here on Tuesday, she can settle close enough to the action to make a play.

SUNNY RICE (4) claimed a 2nd division mares’ qualifier here 3 starts back when rolling forward from gate 5 to sit parked and the grinding out a tough win. Runner-up at her next start, she is right in the fight.

GOALKICKER (8) is in nice touch but is afforded no favours from this alley. Runner-up last start when trying to take them all the way, she was nailed right on the wire. She will be searching for a way clear.

SELECTIONS: GET READY TO ROCK (6), SHEZ GOT BLING (2), SUNNY RICE (4), GOALKICKER (8)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE SIX

Resuming from a freshen after a last start 3YO win, MANILA PLAYBOY (4) can look to open his 4YO term with victory. Carving out a big first over crush of BIG WHEELS last start in a sub 54 closing 800m, he has two sharp trials to open the pipes and he just looks too classy.

WILLIEWA LIGHTNING (2) is a last start Tamworth winner, salvaging something from a 3 starts campaign in the Country Music Capital. He can look to fire the early bullets here and if able to get across to the poles first, his chances of finishing in the money will rise.

SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (6) is moving closer to a win having placed in 5 of his past 6 starts, the latest when hitting the line strongly from the 2nd line when just a head from the in-form CAPTAINS PICK.

ROCK BOTTOM (8) was luckless last start searching for gaps that never arrived yet was just 5m from the winner CAPTAINS PICK. Forced to work hard the start prior, he will be searching for a way clear.

SELECTIONS: MANILA PLAYBOY (4), WILLIEWA LIGHTNING (2), SO BOBS YOUR UNCLE (6), ROCK BOTTOM (8)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 4 / 1-2-6-8

RACE EIGHT

Barrier draws are vital in this grade and despite returning from a freshen WILL THE WIZARD (2) can capitalise first up in his 5YO term. Asked to work early before receiving cover in the Lord Mayors Cup last start, finding the front can prove all the difference and he can look to weave some front running magic.
L L COOL J (6) completed a hat-trick last start when pressing on and taking control over the 2138m and bringing them home in 55 flat to claim his 8th Albion Park victory. Claiming a new PB mile in front the start prior, he is given no favours from the wide alley this time but will be throwing it down.

SPEECH IS SILVER (4) sat rearward in a small field here 2 starts back before charging home in the closing stages to get within a nostril of DEUS EX. Strong to the line last start behind L L COOL J, he will be trying to launch a closing raid.

SELECTIONS: WILL THE WIZARD (2), L L COOL J (6), SPEECH IS SILVER (4)
SUGGESTED BET: WILL THE WIZARD (2) to win

RACE NINE

Back in winning form last start after a return to Qld, GARLAND GREENE (6) rolled forward to take control after starting from the 20m impost. Dictating from the front, he zipped home the closing panel in 28.3. The gate hurts but he lands the opportunity to press forward an improve his stats at the mile.

SIR FAHRENHEIT (7) will need to be at the top of his game to overcome the outside front line at a distance where he has limited exposure. Claiming the G2 Trotters Sprint at this trip 5 starts back for his 1st win over the mile, he will be needing a slice of luck to get his 2022 account off the mark.

DOUG (8) has been over the mile on 4 occasions and come up with no return in any of those. Looking to make it 5 wins on the bounce last start, from the 35m tape, he was 8m in arrears of the winner GARLAND GREENE. Second line options appeal.

VAN SANK (3) is well suited from the mobile and although he does own some wayward tendencies, he was unflappable in front last start. Pressing on to lead from gate 6 in that contest, he will need to take another step up here.

SELECTIONS: GARLAND GREENE (6), SIR FAHRENHEIT (7), DOUG (8), VAN SANK (3)
SUGGESTED BET: GARLAND GREENE (6) to win

RACE TEN

A sharp little 3YO contest to close the card where the lone second liner BANGKOK DEEJAY (8) can look to return from a break with a victory. Last seen back in November, he has trialled smartly in readiness for the return. The concern is the main dangers being ahead of him in the early stages.

AWAYWEGO (1) aims up for the hat-trick after defeating the older horses at each of his past 2 starts, the latest when taking them all the way and never extended to claim a comfortable 10m winning margin. Gunned down by LEAP TO FAME 3 starts back, he has been kept fresh and has the options.

I AM SPARTA (2) resumed over the mile from gate 5 where he was asked to sit parked and after the tough trip wilted in the closing stages. Fitter for the run, he can be sharper in this.

BEACH MAGIC (3) will strip fitter following his return to the track where he was snagged back from gate 6 with the tempo making it tough for the chasers. Settling closer will aid his chances.

SELECTIONS: BANGKOK DEEJAY (8), AWAYWEGO (1), I AM SPARTA (2), BEACH MAGIC (3)
SUGGESTED BET: BANGKOK DEEJAY (8) to win
