RACE TWO

CULTURE KING (5) was runner-up to ROLL WIT LACHLAN at his Qld debut with the barriers playing all the difference. Winning both starts since in strong fashion, he claimed victory in his heat of this series when controlling the tempo through the middle 800m to put them to the sword in a 26.5 closer. With the main danger now scratched, the race looks to be for the placings.

ROLL ONE OVER (7) lines up searching for a hat-trick of victories after successive wins at the mile. He has the wide gate to negotiate but he was strong in his heat win here last week when sitting outside TOMMY UNDER FIRE and putting him away with a narrow victory. He gives the Cross stable a solid chance of taking the quinella.

TOMMY UNDER FIRE (8) released the front when resuming from a spell here 3 starts back and with the passing lane power scored a fresh victory. Trying to dictate last week in his heat when nabbed late, the scratching of the 1 has really hurt his chances as he looks set to be locked away yet the race looks set for the minors.

TIMELESS APPEAL (4) has the early speed to fire off the arm here to find the pegs and would then be available for the trail run. Only 5m in arrears of ROLL ONE OVER in the heat from the 1x1, she is in the mix.

SELECTIONS: CULTURE KING (5), ROLL ONE OVER (7), TOMMY UNDER FIRE (8), TIMELESS APPEAL (4)
SUGGESTED BET: CULTURE KING (5) to win

RACE THREE

OUR UNCLE SAM (10) has put together a great record across his career, but his record here at The Creek shows just 2 wins in 11 outings one of those being this race back in 2018. Resuming from a spell with a close 2nd to FOUROEIGHT at Bathurst, he closed nicely here last week after being buried in the run. Likely to get around them in the early stages, he is ready to strike.

MAJOR CAM (4) was happy to take the pocket trail last start behind CRUZ and with the economical trip had the legs to claim the silver up the passing lane. That followed a smart effort in the 1x1 trail in the track record-equalling effort over the mile the week prior. With 1 look at the longer trip for a placing, he should be close enough to the action to issue a strong challenge.

COLT THRITY ONE (8) position will be all-important for the reigning Qld HOTY, do they stay on the pegs or does driver Dixon, work off the pegs to come around them. It’s the $64m dollar question and offers so many variables either way. What is not in question is his effort in the breeze at the past 2 starts where he has had to grind it out and never shirked the task. The gate really is sticky.

NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (1) has been in great form since resuming from a break and finally lands the marble to be a contender. After an aggressive slice through in the early stages last start to land the 1x1, he couldn’t go with them late. His closing sectionals over the mile the start prior were slick and with a great record over the longer trip, he will be right in the fight.

SELECTIONS: OUR UNCLE SAM (10), MAJOR CAM (4), COLT THRITY ONE (8), NORTHVIEW HUSTLER (1)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR UNCLE SAM (10) to win

RACE FOUR

WEEKS END (2)
has been in nice touch since arriving in Qld, scoring a brilliant win 1st up over the Redcliffe sprint trip when putting them to the sword from the breeze in claiming a new mares track record. Taking the closing shot in the Fleur De Lil last start, she was only a half-head from the winner JUSTALITTLE TORQUE. With the benefit of the gate, she looks hard to stop over the middle trip.

MAJOR GENERALJUJJON (8) has been hitting the line strongly in his races of late and lines up here after attacking the line last start behind STOMPEM. A passing lane winner when claiming a qualifier here 3 starts back, he is set for the economical trip and will be probing for the openings to challenge.

STORMY RAIDER (10) took on this trip last week at his 1st look at The Creek when sent to the breeze. In a gritty effort, he plundered the spoils in dominant fashion. The gate stings but he will be in for the fight.

MOHS EM DOWN (9) was a classy 1st up winner here 3 starts back when leading all the way. Forced to work home wide off the track from tough gates in both runs since behind CULTURE KING, he should find this a shade easier.

SELECTIONS: WEEKS END (2), MAJOR GENERALJUJJON (8), STORMY RAIDER (10), MOHS EM DOWN (9)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE FIVE

There could be a strong argument that MANILA PLAYBOY (10) could still be undefeated if not for ending his chances in the Breeders Classic with an error at his 2nd start. Bouncing back from that he has come through the Redcliffe Sales Series with a Heat win from gate 6 and then the Final from inside the 2nd line. The gate makes it tough, but he looks up to the challenge.

BIG WHEELS (1) went to the front in the Breeders Classic where he was able to dictate and from the front took them all the way in scoring a smart win. Not seen at the races since that win, he has blown the cobwebs out with a pair of trials, the most recent where he was strong to the line in slick closing panels. He has all the favours from the gate and looks to get every chance.

JUSTA LITTLE BIT (7) is still learning what the racing caper is all about, yet he looks to have plenty of ability. A last start winner where it was heart in the mouth stuff until he flattened out in the stretch to display his speed. Where he ends up in the run is all important, but he can feature.

FRONTLINER (3) was looking for a hat-trick last start when landing gate 11 and was too far back in the pack as UNCLE SHANK dictated from the front with the closing quarter making it tough for any of the chasers. He can settle closer here and will play his part.

SELECTIONS: MANILA PLAYBOY (10), BIG WHEELS (1), JUSTA LITTLE BIT (7), FRONTLINER (3)
SUGGESTED BET: MANILA PLAYBOY (10) to win

RACE SIX

TACTICAL RESPONSE (2) opened his Qld ledger immediately here 3 starts back when stepping out over the 2138m. Finding the front early prior to releasing, he finished best to claim a nice win over WILL THE WIZARD. Runner-up to ROLL ONE OVER 2 starts back, he was too far back last start and can capitalise in this.

PACIFIC DRUMS (10) has his runs well-spaced and will line up here for the 1st time since June 6. Taking on a qualifier on that occasion, he was sent to the breeze from gate 6 and was in for the fight when mid-field to SPRING CAMPAIGN. Versatile enough to adjust to the tempo, he can challenge.

CROOKWELL JAKE (1) was a beaten fav from gate 4 here last start when he was obliged to roll the sleeves and do it the tough way. Set for an easy trip, from the ace, he can look to take the closing shot.

BLUE MOON RISING (5) soon settled back in the pack last start in finding position and when asked to sprint over the 2138m was hitting the line strongly. With good closing panels in recent outings, he can chime in late again.

SELECTIONS: TACTICAL RESPONSE (2), PACIFIC DRUMS (10), CROOKWELL JAKE (1), BLUE MOON RISING (5)
SUGGESTED BET: TACTICAL RESPONSE (2) to win

RACE SEVEN

A great renewal of the QBred Triad for the Fillies to take place here where the 2nd line might just be a blessing for SHEZA BONNY SHEILA (11). Going into the Breeders Classic as the hot favourite 2 starts back, she made a mess of the start and with it her chances evaporated. Freshened, she again made an early error at her return, but her close out was eye-catching. There looks speed and pressure up-front and taking the closing shot can be to her advantage.

SHES MISS DEVINE (2) holds the key to this race in how much expense the lead will come at. Grabbed in the closing stages in the heats of the Redcliffe Sales Race, she then set the tempo of the 2YO track record at Redcliffe when grabbed late by MANILA PLAYBOY. She will be throwing it all down in this.

JASPER (6) has been kept fresh through the season with 2 wins and 2 minors in her 4 starts. A smart winner 2 starts back when fresh off the Breeders back in May, the wide gate has dented her chances, yet she does look a classy conveyance.

VANISH HANOVER (9) had no luck at all here last start when snookered in the run and looking for gaps that never arrived. The Breeders Classic winner can feature here and is right in the fight. Of the others JAZIAH (3) is the unknown, having her 1st start in Qld but arrives with strong form, LILLIES (5) has progressed nicely through the season and TALENT TO SPARE (8) will be needing some luck.

SELECTIONS: SHEZA BONNY SHEILA (11), SHES MISS DEVINE (2), JASPER (6), VANISH HANOVER (9)
SUGGESTED BET: SHEZA BONNY SHEILA (11) each-way

RACE EIGHT

MISTER BRAZIL (2) steps out in Qld for the 1st time after being a scratching from last Saturday’s meeting. 2 starts back he took on the 2300m at Menangle when hitting the line strongly for 2nd to MOTU GATECRASHER. Pulling clear for a strong Newcastle win last start after working in the run, if he brings that power he looks hard to hold out.

ESCALERA (5) franked his 1st up run when taking them all the way in comfortable fashion here last week. Resuming from a spell with a passing lane 2nd when 3m in arrears of the winner BETTERTHANAJEEP, he was too sharp in front last week over the 2138m. This is a sticky gate, but he can make his own luck.

LOVE MY SISTER (4) was too strong in a mares qualifier 3 starts back when sent forward from gate 7 to take control. Taking on the open mares her past 2 starts, not much has gone her way and she has podium claims.

DAPPER (1) returned a sharper effort here mid-week when chiming in late to grab the bronze behind SPRING CAMPAIGN over this trip. With a similar run looking on offer here, he can land in the money.

SELECTIONS: MISTER BRAZIL (2), ESCALERA (5), LOVE MY SISITER (4), DAPPER (1)
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 2 / 1-4-5-12

RACE NINE

GARLAND GREENE (2) was looking to complete a hat-trick of victories last start when tackling the 2138m from the tapes. Making an error soon after release, he lost a stack of ground and was still strong to the line to grab 4th. With a sharp trial since that run where his sectionals were smart, he can hustle off the arm to dictate.

OUR OVERANOVA (10) is never far from the action under mobile conditions and the 2138m certainly works in his favour. Working home strongly from a long way back to grab 3rd behind GALLEONS VICTORY last week, his last time from these conditions, he was beaten a neck after grinding away outside GARLAND GREENE. He will challenge.

JUSTABITNOISY (1) always runs an honest race and from the gate will get his chance for the perfect trip. Coming from further back in the pack in recent outings, he has been working home nicely and can be ready to snipe here.

GREG THE GREAT (7) has no favours from this gate and will be requiring some factors in his favour as he looks to be coming from well back. His win 2 starts back was full of merit and if happens to secure the right cart home, he can unleash his closing power.

SELECTIONS: GARLAND GREENE (2), OUR OVERANOVA (10), JUSTABITNOISY (1), GREG THE GREAT (7)
SUGGESTED BET: JUSTABITNOISY (1) to place

RACE TEN

B MAC C (10) took on a qualifier here 3 starts back over the 2138m trip when sent forward from gate 5 and forced to work hard in the run. Game in defeat behind MOHS EM DOWN, he was then chasing at his next start. Rewarded with an all the way win last start, the tempo looks right for him to claim the get-out stakes.

BETTERTHANAJEEP (3) was shooting for the hat-trick last start when sent to the post a red figure fav over the 2138m. Working forward to take control he was gunned down in the closing stages by HAVAN MOON. Too strong in the breeze the start prior defeating subsequent winner ESCALERA, he can throw it down.

PADRISIMO (2) eased back from gate 4 last start over the middle distance to look for some luck. Hitting the line in good order for the bronze, he can be looking to chime in again in when it counts.

OYSTER STRIDE (9) found the 1x1 trail last week over his less preferred 2138m trip where he was sound to the line to hold 3rd to STORMY RAIDER. Back to the mile with the right trip, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: B MAC C (10), BETTERTHANAJEEP (3), PADRISIMO (2), OYSTER STRIDE (9)
SUGGESTED BET: B MAC C (10) to win
