Inter-state participant protocols

Inter-state participants will no longer be required to complete a mandatory 14-day quarantine period before accessing licensed training and racing facilities in Queensland from this Friday.

In line with the Queensland Government’s border restrictions, inter-state participants will be permitted to access venues from midday on Friday, July 10, excluding Victorian participants or any participant who has entered Victoria in the past 14 days.

The updated protocols allow:

  • Licensed inter-state participants, other than those who reside in or who have returned from Victoria in the last 14 days, to enter Queensland to participate in their licensed code and to access ‘Core Racing Areas’ at race clubs;
  • Travel by road or commercial aircraft, however, for the harness and thoroughbred codes, commercial air travel cannot occur on the day of the race meeting; and
  • Thoroughbreds, standardbreds and greyhounds will be permitted to enter Queensland from Victoria for racing purposes in accordance with the strict transport protocols detailed in the relevant codes COVID-19 protocols linked below.
