RACE TWO

A tough trot here over the 2647m, a trip that is beyond the ideal for the majority of the combatants stepping up to the tapes. AVEROSS DON (5) made a mess of the start from the 50m tape last start, ending his chances. An error put paid to his hopes 2 starts back, but if he can trot cleanly, this is the type of race that is within reach.

HAVANA MAGIC (8) closed out in good order last start behind PRINCESS FAITH after starting from the 60m impost. An error cost her any chance the start prior behind CHASING GREAT. If stepping cleanly from the 20m, she is going well enough to make an impression in this.

HELLO JOLENE JOLENE (6) was huge in defeat here last week, going off-stride at basically the same point in both laps of the 2138m. Somehow she was still only 8m from the winner and she just needs to trot throughout to be a major threat.

THE REAPER (3) would be better suited if this was the 2138m but from the 10m tape can get forward in the early stages. Runner-up at his past 2, if he can limit any early burn, he can feature.

SELECTIONS: AVEROSS DON (5), HAVANA MAGIC (8), HELLO JOLENE JOLENE (6), THE REAPER (3)
SUGGESTED BET:

RACE THREE

TORQUE TO THE MUSIC (7) looked to capitalise on gate 1 last start when looking to take them all the way. Leading deep into the stretch, he was collared in the last strides by subsequent winner SPEAK THE TRUTH. The gate is a big dampener, but he is taking improving strides each outing and can look to hit the right notes here.

SHADYS CULLECT (2) placed in 4 of her 7 starts as she looks for the elusive maiden breaker, she was first up since her 3rd to CAT KING COLE in the Breeders here last week. From the gate, she can chime in.

HARLEY BLUE (9) is making steady improvement and last start was making good closing metres behind FUTURE ASSURED to grab the bronze. Pressing through early, she can be chiming in.

HEAD NOISE (5) has been to the races on 3 occasions for no return and steps out in Qld for the 1st time for the visiting Bernie Hewitt team here. Last raced back in March, she has had 3 Bathurst trials to tune up and stays under watch.

SELECTIONS: TORQUE TO THE MUSIC (7), SHADYS CULLECT (2), HARLEY BLUE (9), HEAD NOISE (5)
SUGGESTED BET: TORQUE TO THE MUSIC (7) to win

RACE FOUR

CLINTAL DO (7)
did not have it in his favour last start in the Redcliffe Cup and was just too far back in traffic. That followed successive wins over the 2613m Redcliffe stand start and his record is strong at the longer trip. Back to the small field looks ideal and there should be enough tempo for him to take the closing shot.

NURBURGRING (1) was a winner under these conditions 3 starts back when leading from this gate over this trip and then holding off the challengers in a 56.5 closing half. Chasing behind L L COOL J in the Redcliffe Cup last start, he comes up with the gate to look for a repeat from the front end.

MISTER BRAZIL (3) was wide for a long way when scoring a strong win over the 2138m last time out, running strong time for the trip. His first look at the 13 furlongs, he has the strength to handle this.

KID MONTANA (6) was probably a bit stiff in being made the emergency for the Wondais Mate. It just did not go his way in the Redcliffe Cup but in this line-up, he can feature if the tempo is right.

SELECTIONS: CLINTAL DO (7), NURBURGRING (1), MISTER BRAZIL (3), KID MONTANA (6)
SUGGESTED BET: CLINTAL DO (7) to win

RACE FIVE

KWASII (5) started from inside the 2nd line last time out and was soon pegged away and chasing when not too far from THIS ONES FOR YOU. Hitting the line strongly to grab the bronze here 2 starts back, he has the early speed to find the front here and pinching a panel can look to fight them off.

AYE AYE CAPTAIN (4) will be fitter again now following 3 runs back from a break, the latest when midfield but still only 5m from the winner. Only 4m away when 2nd up, he should appreciate this level of opposition and settling handy can look to make a closing challenge.

MAJOR LUCKY (2) landed gate 7 last time out and was working home wide off the track in nice order to grab the silver behind TUAKANA. 3rd here 2 starts back, he has the gate to feature in this.

SIR SEMPER FIDELIS (9) was able to graft out a victory here 4 starts back when sitting parked and then defying the challengers to score. Given a let up after that win, his 3 starts since have been from unsuitable gates and trailing through here can be an improver.

SELECTIONS: KWASII (5), AYE AYE CAPTAIN (4), MAJOR LUCKY (2), SIR SEMPER FIDELIS (9)
SUGGESTED BET: KWASII (5) to win

RACE SIX

THIS ONES FOR YOU (2)
was first up from a spell and since returning to the Jack Butler barn here last week when landing gate 1 over the mile. Holding the early advantage before taking the trail, she was too slippery up the passing lane in scoring a smart win. Fitter for the run, she can look for a repeat.

MULLUM FLO (10) was back in the pack after retreating from gate 6 over the 2138m here last time out and was attacking the line in fine style when 5m from the winner MISTER DIAMOND. Searching for a hat-trick of wins in that event, she has shown good close out speed and will be charging home.

IDEAL INVESTMENT (1) started from the 2nd line last start and was angled to the pegs to look for the short way home when 7m from the winner. Hitting the line in nice style the start prior, the early options suit.

MONGOLIAN CONQUEROR (5) will be 1st up since crossing the Tasman to join the Danielle Veivers barn. A three-time winner back in NZ, he has no public trial to peruse and stays under watch.

SELECTIONS: THIS ONES FOR YOU (2), MULLUM FLO (10), IDEAL INVESTMENT (1), MONGOLIAN CONQUEROR (5)
SUGGESTED BET: THIS ONES FOR YOU (2) to win

RACE EIGHT

SOHO TSUNAMI (1)
was a winner from this gate 4 starts back over the 2138m when taking the trail and then using the passing lane to arrive for the prize. Beaten by wide gates in the 3 starts since that win, he lands the gate to repeat the pattern of his last victory and make the closing shot a winner.

MARK OF INTEGRITY (4) fired off the arm from gate 2 last start and looked to take them all the way. With a 27.3 third panel blitz, he was left vulnerable late and LEFT A TERROR was the fresh horse on the scent to capitalise. He can fire the early bullets again here to throw it down.

MOREAU DRIVE (8) started from gate 10 last time and from back in the pack loomed ominously and looked set to sail on by. With the leader kicking back, she slugged it out to the wire for the bronze. She will be probing here.

VINNY CHASE (9) returns to Qld this time joining the firing Graham Dwyer barn. Running into the airborne HIDDEN COURAGE at Menangle in his past 3, he can chime into the action here.

SELECTIONS: SOHO TSUNAMI (1), MARK OF INTEGRITY (4), MOREAU DRIVE (8), VINNY CHASE (9),
SUGGESTED BET: Exotics 1-4-8-9

RACE NINE

OUR ACTION MAN (1) is on the back-up from Friday where he was trying to make closing ground but nothing really made ground from the rear. That had followed a real eye-catcher when forced to retreat all the way to the rear before a chequered run home when 8m from UNCLE SHANK. He lands the options here to capitalise.

OHOKA CHOPPER (4) has had his runs spaced in recent times and lines up here following his last start back on June 5. Down the line as CRUNCH TIME put on a power running display, it had followed a smart win here over the mile. With a tidy trial since his last outing, he can make a play here.

CAPTAIN NEMO (7) was taking his first look at The Creek for visiting Kiwi Ray Green when wide for a long wasy from the 2nd line over the mile. It was at top effort under the circumstances, and he can bounce back here.

ITZ MAJOR RICH (2) is 3 from 3 at the AP 2138m trip with each of those wins coming when able to lead throughout. He was never in the mix from 3 poles in the Redcliffe Derby and if he can take control, will take some catching.

SELECTIONS: OUR ACTION MAN (1), OHOKA CHOPPER (4), CAPTAIN NEMO (7), ITZ MAJOR RICH (2)
SUGGESTED BET: OUR ACTION MAN (1) to win
